  1. Tiny problemette, Kearsage on the decal sheet should be Kearsarge. If this is Vietnam Series V5001, what's 5002, 3 4 etc?
  2. In that case, he does a fine job and his choice of subjects is exceptional.
  3. Can I assume that someone from Anigrand has been to Pima, where they have a Budd, YC-125 and YC-15? Will there be a YC-14 too? (If you haven't been to Pima, go. Any museum with three B-52s can't be bad. And the bus goes from there around the boneyard.)
  4. ..and a radiator, and an oil cooler, and a place for a propshaft. And if it had 3000hp a massive prop. Seems like a mockup to me. Oh, and there's no sense in putting the fins/rudders outside the prop slipstream, unless they were originally part of the 280.
  5. I apologise for the bad link. I've tried to fix it but it now has an unaccountable (to me) couple of bogus chars at the end. Which I can't seem to get rid of. Sorry.
  6. A new batch of pictures today: http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/Ausstellungen/Nuernberg2016/Bilder_AE/Bilder_AE_1.htm and keep clicking nachste bild Notable for me a photo of Revell's Flower-class corvette in 1/144. They said it was going to be an early version, but it's not. Good. Also don't miss Trumpeter's 1/48 Typ VII U-boat. Blimey.
  7. R2800s and R3350s are used in racing because they are better understood by the tuners and easier to rebuild after the not-infrequent blowups. Two furies are currently racing with R4360 corncobs. Some still use Centaurus. Anyone who ever has a chance to go to Reno ought to go. You can wander around the pits between races and chat to the crews (if they aren't busy). What'll she do?, I asked the pilot of Precious Metal, Griffon-powered contraprop P-51. I don't know, he said, I've never had the throttle wide open. The races and the noise are of course spectacular.
  8. Why is the tail separate? So you can make a DC-10? :-)
  9. Oh, 1/48. I admit the Hobby Boss escaped my attention. I couldn't remember one since the Hobbycraft. Anyway, still an opportunity in 1/72, but please not just the PF, remember Hase boxing it as a NVAF mig without any changes? . (I had the Dragon/Italeri, not very impressed)
  10. Is there a decent MiG-17 in any scale? Examples of the real thing are not hard to find. And the marking choices!
  11. The He70 is bound to be matchbox. I wonder if the I-153 is new. And the rationale behind the 50s/60s Bundeswehr vehicles in 1/144. The start of something?
  12. http://www.revell-news.de/display.php?M=131501&C=a475fd5270326cf32d4f3122404880d5&S=440&L=35&N=172 Apologies if it is posted elsewhere.
  13. To go with the Typ VII U-boot you get the Flower. Time for 1/144 S-boot and Coastal craft? I hope so. Or a T class torpedoboot. What counts as too big in 1/144?
  14. I've participated in a few of these, over the years. Everybody has a suggestion, nobody has a clue. Of what sells, of what number constitutes good sales, of what a model costs to put on the market, of the comparitive cost of big and small models and their profit margins. Can anyone help with real information? Why are there no figures for sales when in some markets, records, books for example sales charts are rife? And the top of the charts takes a large percentage of the sales. Do modern CAD and Lidar change the cost game? Having said that, I want someone to do in 1/700 what Eaglewall did fifty years ago. Series of all the ships in a sea battle. (Yes, I know Airfix did this in 1/1200 for the Bismarck action.) I think Airfix should be present in all the major scales, possibly excepting 1/35 Armour as all the subjects are done. 1/144 Aircraft. 1/700 ships. 1/144 ships to complement Revell's efforts in that area. And everything suggested here ought to be a model undone by others in a decent version in that scale.. If I can find it on ebay or in the stash and it's decent, Airfix don't need to do it.
  15. ACE from the Ukraine is working on a line of 1/72 Centurions, but it isn't even on the projects page of their website yet.
