I've participated in a few of these, over the years. Everybody has a suggestion, nobody has a clue. Of what sells, of what number constitutes good sales, of what a model costs to put on the market, of the comparitive cost of big and small models and their profit margins.
Can anyone help with real information?
Why are there no figures for sales when in some markets, records, books for example sales charts are rife? And the top of the charts takes a large percentage of the sales.
Do modern CAD and Lidar change the cost game?
Having said that, I want someone to do in 1/700 what Eaglewall did fifty years ago. Series of all the ships in a sea battle. (Yes, I know Airfix did this in 1/1200 for the Bismarck action.) I think Airfix should be present in all the major scales, possibly excepting 1/35 Armour as all the subjects are done. 1/144 Aircraft. 1/700 ships. 1/144 ships to complement Revell's efforts in that area.
And everything suggested here ought to be a model undone by others in a decent version in that scale.. If I can find it on ebay or in the stash and it's decent, Airfix don't need to do it.
