A rather loud Jet Provost, from Tollerton a couple of times after lunch

Great work on the Bisley, as usual. For a bit of British history that folks overlook, you might take a look at this account of the Scottish/English border conflicts https://www.abebooks.co.uk/Steel-Bonnets-Story-Anglo-Scottish-Border-Reivers/22535119352/bd?cm_mmc=gmc-_-used-_-PLA-_-v01&product=COUK9780330238571USED He writes well, and you should look at his Flashman Stories and his autobiography about the 14th Army in Burma. Mirror Models 1/35 Holmes Wrecker
Teuchter replied to robw_uk's topic in Work In Progress - Vehicles
Nice work on this. I remember a similar, possibly SWB, vehicle mouldering away on the farm. Possibly ex RN, as I recall very worn thin blue paint over white. We were near Rosyth and various supply depots. Not the sort of thing kids took pictures of in those days. Don -

Those sprues look familiar, still the same plastic as the Inpact kit I built back in the 60s? I think I chose this one as it looked simple, just some wings and tail planes... Rigging? I think my Flycatcher lurks in the loft somewhere.

Apologies if anyone else has posted this. I've just seen a film on you tube called High Flight, I suppose it's the RAF answer to Carry on Sergeant, but set at Cranwell. Lots of nice shiny Piston Provosts, Vampires and Valletta. Then they graduate to Hunters. Lots or air to air shots. Cant seem to link to it from IPad. Don

I had a look at the Wellington insides on the Airfix stand, amazing amount of detail crammed in, how about an extra fuselage half to display it? otherwise it mostly disappears.

Am I naive wondering why the CAA don't use use the Monarch crews, slots and planes to bring home the stranded passengers at their scheduled times, rather than chartering?

Amazing - it only dawned on me what size a 1/72 ship would be when I saw the box. Will follow this one, take your time. Good luck. Don- 194 replies

Hi, are the older pics not pre-Vichy? if it's the film type, it implies yellow tails are original, perhaps? Regards Don

Great modelling. I notice that the sepia pics of the ambulance seem to show the same colour demarcation under the tail as the desert craft. Could this be a tail marking rather than camouflage?

Crisis, What Crisis? (1/72 AZ Gloster Gauntlet)
Teuchter replied to Procopius's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Hi, great to see you modelling again. Re Dunkirk. It gets a good review here https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/jul/23/dunkirk-review-terrifyingly-immersive-christopher-nolan from usually reliable Mark Kermode. My uncle was one of the unlucky ones and got captured with the 51st HD at St. Valery.- 512 replies

Halifax B Mk. I/II/GRII - Revell 1/72
Teuchter replied to CedB's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
My late father in law, a flight engineer, was a survivor of a Halifax, shot down in Northern France after D day. Most of the rest of the crew died, but he landed with two broken arms and was kept hidden by French civilians till the army arrived. -
