Sink the Bismarck! HMS Ark Royal, 26 May 1941
Teuchter replied to Ex-FAAWAFU's topic in Work in Progress - Maritime
Great build and reference work. I built the Airfix one years ago, not to this level of detail, simpler times. I notice that between the 'sepia' pic and the last pic there now seem to be 2 of those cylinders, and they seem to be moved forward of the swan neck structure that is something to do with the Carley floats? Or is it just the viewpoint? Don- 1,975 replies

Interesting to realise that this is, or was from Frog, a mainstream kit, when comparing the sprues with short-run kits of today. Don

Excellent work, as is usual in your threads. If you haven't cut out all the seats yet, how about reprinting them as red lines on white paper, then dyeing? Don

Excellent work on this kit. What about the P39 or the Vampire used for deck landing by Eric Brown? -

That's a lot of masking pieces - as you are clearly the Mayan god of soldering, would it not be easier to build the cage and slip it over the turret? Don

Re Hurricane, I had thought it was something to do with an Italian film involving a captured Hurricane, but now I see it's a fairly random mixture of aircraft. Hercules and Skyhawk with the Betty? Don -

Teuchter replied to Roger Newsome's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Roger, he was in ZA-D of 10 Sqdn., baled out, 10 August 1944 with two broken arms, hidden by locals till the army got to that bit of France. I never knew this till after he died, he never mentioned it to me and my wife was told never to ask him when she was growing up. Don
