  1. I am also a Potez and Polish aircraft fan. I am about to start the Hit-Kit Potez XXVII. and I am very scared (it also is missing it's instructions!) :0 Your model is elegant and very beautifully made. Yes it is time for a good kit in any scale; come on Special Hobby/Azur! Thank you for sharing; great plane
  2. Hi J-W it's great to see s Wal actually built. I wish to do a SCW version, but I have trouble finding pictures and plans of the engines, also I only have old Airmodel Vac-Fotm kit . . This looks fantastic and the huge wing markings are stunning. Very nice work on modifying the engines. Great stuff Tony
  3. That's a lovely model Angelo. I hope to do a Sosnish one in 1/72, but I'm sure I won't be able to get working engines! Great movie, well done
  4. Wow! That looks extremely impressive. Absolutely fascinating choice of subject and very nicely made. Well done
  5. I've just caught up with this one Ced. As always a really informative and entertaining build. Each Valom you do presents unique challenges. This one is going to look fantastic and your tenacity is inspiring! Great work Best regards from Australia Tony
  6. This is going together wonderfully Erik. Your enthusiasm is infectious and this build is fun to watch and read! I always wanted one of these as a child too.... They were too expensive for Father Christmas! Best regards Tony
  7. This looks lovely. What kind of paint did you use to get the silver finish? Inspiring modelling
  8. Apologies for being away until now Ced, my word you've really made fast and superb progress on these! I've just caught up before the end (it's nigh isn't it?). A superb trio, with some real challenges (mainly thanks to the now binned primer) Your threads are a generous and entertaining resource for those learning (like me) Ced. Thanks for sharing all this experience. It's nearly Valentine's Day in Oz, I got s card for SWMBO. Wonder if Mrs B is getting one? Hope Bletchley was interesting and spiffingly top secret! All The best Tony
  9. I have the original release of the kit with the vac-form canopy. Until now I was apprehensive about making it; I haven't made models in a long time. Your build and excellent photographs encouraged me to take my kit and start it! Thank you for a great build thread and congratulations on building a model you can be very proud of.
  10. This has shown real modelling dedication and tenacity. The Mitchell looks very nice and details like the corrected intakes are icing on the cake. Really inspiring work
  11. Hi Matt hope I can come on board. I love Hampdens; never made one as I heard they were tricky, so I'm really enjoying following this. I don't know how it works out postage wise but Engines 'n Things in Canada have provided me with some superb resin engines. I dont mind the Airfix rivets too much, but think the Falcon canopies would be very nice. All the best Tony
  12. This is looking great now RΓ©mi. I would be interested to know the method you used to separate the canopy; scissors or knife? The floats have gone together well. Looking forward to the next stage. Good work! Tony
  13. I'm on board for this one Ced. The Blenheim is a favourite and I am really interested to see how the new tool works out. I have the Hurricane in the stash so this will help greatly. Your output is inspiring Ced; I must admit one day I would love to see that big Fly beastie on a WIPπŸ˜‰, guess who else has one.... Tony
  14. I still love Frog kits. Really nice job; the paintwork is superb
  15. This is a really nicely built attractive aircraft. Great modelling
  16. This looks a formidable machine now. It has a really convincing impression of weight and that battle ready menace that many WWII Luftwaffe aircraft possess. I'm completely of accord with the 'if you can't read it, leave it off' school of thought with transfers. I don't know why, but also using lots of stencils sometimes seem to clutter a model. Clean and mean looks good Ced, very nice paint finish too😊 Like the wordplay on 'whine and wine'! Tony
  17. Thank you for sharing your build, I will be following with interest. I have one in the stash but I was a little scared by the vac-form canopy. I'm not good with them; I already have broken 3 on a Special Hobby Vultee V-1 Your skills are way ahead of mine and you are doing a great job on this very attractive aircraft Tony
  18. Hope it's ok to take up a seat at this late stage...? I've just caught up with this and thoroughly enjoyed reading it; this looks superb and is coming together at a swift and pleasant pace. Great modelling this is looking very good Tony
  19. The 163 and 262 are lovely models with great mottling and camouflage. Thank you for sharing and taking the pictures The P.1099 is going to be in good company Ced
  20. It looks superb. A lovely vintage look to it and very nicely finished after many decades. Wonder if you're tempted to build the others? Lovely tribute to your dad, Tony
  21. Just caught up with this one. Hope it's ok to stay to the end Really fascinating build; I have this, part made, in the stash from around 15 years ago. I had a look today and remember now breaking the front undercarriage leg-it doesn't look too strong, so might be worth watching out for. With the scribing, intakes and engine wiring this really looks good! Happy new year from a land down under Tony
  22. That looks good Ced. I would guess in the field mottling was far from an exact science; I'm sure their paint and spray equipment was very variable! Your P.1099 suddenly stopped looking like a prototype, methinks it needs a Me. 163 and 262 for friendship now... Big thumbs up Tony
  23. Hi Ced, I'm in the chicken coup with Alex.... I have some lovely kits in the stash that I simply daren't start because of the need to mottle! My hands, with age are an increasingly wobbly pair of appendages (fnar), I know too wobbly to freehand mottle. I admire your bravery here and a flying start has been made! I haven't tried them, but I wondered if the photo etch mottle/blotch masks are helpful? I wouldn't want to recommend something I haven't tried, but it seems the mottle for this plane looks close to a 'blotch mask' I've seen. It's not often I'm able to suggest appropriately sized blotch creators for someone! Holding my breath for the next instalment, onwards and upwards Ced (after a glass of red stuff) Nail biting stage.... Tony
  24. This is looking really good Ced. Others have said it, but the canopy framing is exemplary; superb masking. It may have been a little more 'self-preparation' time but the wash really works on the hardware. It would very likely look very good on prop engine cylinders. A mottlingly happy new year Ced
  25. Superb progress Ced. Very kind of you to share good advice on building like this. Really is a nice little kit. Looking forwards to the mottling - very brave! Have a wonderful Christmas, all the best from a land down underπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š.
