  1. Well Mr. C wasn't kidding when he said you are an amazing modeller. Your work is absolutely fantastic Jo, an absolute pleasure to watch!
  2. Oh please do. You' ve gotten me all excited now haha.
  3. That Testarossa seems to come floating past every now and again. What's wrong with that kit? I have seen many a half built Testarossa or ones for parts.
  4. I highly respect all of your opinions and I shall definitely keep them in mind if I make my decision. I'll probably work on some more models before and go for something decent after summer. Something is definitely pulling me towards the Pocher kits which, for the considerable time it will take me to assemble one, I would say are great value for money. I am madly in love with Bugatti at the moment but that Alfa 8C Monza is so very tempting too..... Maybe I'll get myself that damned Wespe T35 and completely redo it, but what's the use in that? Too many choices!!!!
  5. Looks spot on. With the right colour the better contours are going to pop!
  6. The paper models are stunning pressman, love them! Are you mainly into formula/race cars?
  7. Nice job! You'll get the wheels sorted I'm sure! That balsa body would also make a really good base for a metal plated version. Might be worth trying your hand at something like that at some point?
  8. I reached out to the Bugatti Trust today in an effort to aquire some technical drawings for the Type 59. Fingers crossed!
  9. Nice work man! Looks like a nice bit of scratch building on the suspension!
  10. Feel free to call me Tom mate! I had a nice read though the build log and I actually think your construction method for the rear differential will work very well for mine! Just a quick question, do you use any templates for the parts you make or do you just draw them straight on the metal? What is you preferred method? Ye olde eyeball? Read something about a small heart related scare, hope you are doing well again now my friend!
  11. H, your work is truly inspiring mate. I love the quality of your work, absolutely outstanding. I'm looking at this and wondering how on earth you made some of these things, mind has been boggled.
  12. I was thinking of taking the easy route on this car with the bonnet but now that I've taken a better look at things (due to your comments) I have come to the conclusion that opening up the louvres is mandatory. It has to happen!
  13. Hahaha after something like this Steve?
  14. I think I may be in love now. What a beauty!!
  15. Do you have a thread going for that re-vamp Al? I actually really enjoy studying the model, finding the flaws and researching the way it should be. In all fairness, I should have taken off every single bit of moulded on detail because all of it is wrong or inaccurate. If anyone if interested I could do a rundown of all the areas that require attention.
  16. No problem my friend. I'm very glad to have your feedback and input. I'll definitely look into it. I have stumbled across a big Pocher collection for sale. Might be worth investing in and selling on the kits I don't want.... Choices, choices...... Aaah the ACA kit, a work of art in its own right. Would almost be a shame to build it. Absolutely stunning, too bad it is that rare!
  17. Is that the Wespe T35 you're on about? I have a few gripes with that one, it is very expensive and to be blunt not very good!
  18. Sorry to keep you occupied like this Harvey! This one also seems to have it. I *ahem* "spotted" both the cars a while back doing my research. I kind of like the way it breaks up the big chunks of blue. Let's make a deal: I'll keep them for now and see how it pans out when all the ancillaries are on. If you still hate it then I'll paint them blue
  19. Absolutely, factor in working abroad as well as other distractions (kids).... Thanks for your input though! I am not afraid of tools, I have loads of those haha. I have been following that build and I am amazed by it. My biggest wish would have been a Bugatti T35 or T59 in 1:8 but I fear no such kit really exists, or they are rarer than hen's teeth...
  20. Hi Harvey, I am kind of going for this look: Only a little more weathered and raced in kind of look. I will 100% take your opinion into very serious consideration and I might change it completely. I'm not 100% convinced by the shade of blue myself yet. Model number 2 is going to be all about making it look as good as I can get it, this one is basically a trial run to see what I can and cannot do with my limited skillset. Thanks for your support!!
  21. It does indeed help, kind sir. I would say I am somewhere in between novice and experienced. I have a fair understanding of how things work but I definitely wouldn't consider myself to be experienced. More like an enthusiastic amateur in all honesty. I do think the Pocher kits are very expensive indeed however I feel they might be worth investing in. I have recently gotten really interested in cars from the 1920s-1930s and I would rather build something from that era opposed to something more modern. The Pocher Bugatti T50 look absolutely amazing but it looks incredibly complicated. Might be worth testing the waters with something a bit cheaper first would you not agree?
