  1. Just been Aldi and bagged myself a £4.99 starter set,so I`d like to join this group build(my first).
  2. What was your base camo colour if your final one was RLM 70? Looking great by the way,any further progress?
  3. Mine arrived from Hannants today.Only had time to give it a quick look, but its a nice looking kit.Rear canopy has two options.
  4. That looks great.I`ve got one of these coming so will be watching your build. What paint brand do you use as my RLM 02 is lot darker than yours.
  5. Well,I used it straight from the bottle, but upped the pressure to about 27psi and it went on lovely.Thank you everybody for your suggestions.
  6. Ok,I`ll give it a go.Don`t want to have to waste it. Funny thing, the primer I thinned with water that took ages to dry, looks great this morning, the runs have disappeared.
  7. i used mr color thinner, which was ok the first time I used it.Pressure wise,I was only at about 15psi.I thought it was right to go for low pressure with thin consistencies?? Cant use anything too "nasty" as the wife has a chest condition.I do my spraying in the kitchen with windows and doors open

    Primer problems

Hi, Just got back into the hobby and having a problem already. I got some Vallejo surface primer and despite supposedly being able to use it straight from the bottle,it clogged my airbrush. Did a little research and found this was quite common,so used a little thinners and all was good. I am now onto my second model and today decided to prime it,so thinned the primer, put the cap on and started spraying.Within seconds my airbrush had clogged and the paint had changed consistency with lumps in it.Used the same thinners and ratio as last time so a bit confused here. After a thorough clean,I decided to try thinning with a small amount of water, which worked, but the paint went on really watery and eventually clogged once again. I`m now looking for a different primer, any recommendations? Also not happy with the finish I got as there are some runs,so whats the best way to remove it without damaging the plastic? Thanks
  9. I chose to try one of these as my first build in 34 years, just wish I`d done a bit of research first,a bit of a challenge for a first kit,but a lovely kit neverless. You have done a fantastic job,and pictures like these are an inspiration for people like me to keep at it.
