  2. My dad continues with the IJN stuff. This time a golden oldie, later released by Arii in the 80ies but this is the original Otaki kit, first released in 1972. Although the decals are 40-50 years old and the carrier film is yellowing, they still work. Tested them, need some more time to loosen from the paper but it works. The model will be painted in orange, so a yellow carrier film doesnßt matter that much. Maybe I can find some replacement. 4. #25/2023 Next IJN subject finished by my dad. Hasegawa kit oob, only added brake lines with lead wire and antenna wires with EZ Line. The seatbelts are molded onto the seat. Painted with AK Xtreme Metal White Aluminium and Gunze H59 IJN Green with a touch of blue. 9. So, fuselage closed. spine joint is good but the belly joint not. Don´t know if its´becuase of the locating pins or is the plastic of one half a bit thinner then the other, theres a small step throughout the whole length which needs some filler. The kit is basically the same as the A-10A kit which HB released back in 2007. It has nice detail but the molding quality could be better. Almost all parts have fine molding seams/residue which has to be removed. This bird needs noseweight. According to the instructions 25g, my dad used 30g and kept the part behind the seat away for now to add more weight if neccessary. 14. wings to fuselage fit is a bit tricky, plastic parts have slightly different thickness also some filling to be done in the wing root areas DSC_0006 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr DSC_0007 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr DSC_0008 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr
  15. stared with some paint for the cockpit the shoulder belts are molded on but there are no lap belts, gonna use some PE from the sparesbox side instruments and IB are decals, which are a bit tricky, very thin and delicate to work with DSC_0003 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr DSC_0004 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr brrrt DSC_0005 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr
  16. Good luck with yours! Well the 2 and a half Eduard WIldcats did cost my dad some nerves too, at least the landing gear. The rest is more or less trouble free. Eduard usually tries to replicate the kit parts 1:1 to the original aircraft. Because of that, their engineering isn´t always modeller friendly like with Tamiya or other brands. A pity Tamiya only releases a new FM-1 (based on their old F4F-4) now in November, some more types would be nice in the future. Thanks a lot gents!
