project ended....☹️
the plastic didn´t respond well to neither Revell, Faller or Tamiya plastic glue
when some pieces broke off several times and my dad glued them on again, the pins melted away and other problems
have the newer ARII kit version in the stash, maybe someday in the future and hopefull the plastic is better responding...
nevertheless, thanks for following this project and on to the next...

Found out, that almost all post war Ratas, at least the ones used in the 40ies and 50ies were puzzled together with parts of old, no longer airworthy aircraft and had also their own Spanish produced canopies which looked slightly different. They also had a taller spine and longer ailerons. So can´t do that scheme oob with the Eduard kit without duing some extra work.
Therefore my dad decided to do a Chinese scheme using British made Blue RIder decals which are in our decal stash for some while now.

almost done
all in all it isn´t a bad kit but as usual with HB kits, it isn´t 100% correct, for example they forgot about the sensor on the forward wingtip areas, should my dad or I build another C model, we will choose the Academy kit, looks like the most correct kit compared with Italeri and HB

So, it´s that time of year again.
Wish you nice holidays and all the best for 2024! 🌲🎅🍾
It was a pleasure to see all your great work here, keep going!
The old man did good this year with 28 finished models...and the middle-aged man tried his best to take appropriate pictures of them and post them for you. All in 1/48 except the race car in 1/24.Cheers from Austria!

Lovely group of models. To my eye (so very subjective!) the 112 as an aeroplane (not your model) “looks” wrong? The proportions just don’t seem right. I’m sure others will disagree🤪
21 hours ago, Herb said:Very nice model, thanks for sharing! And I agree with Bill, the He-112 has such strange proportions. The wing seems so stunted and the horizontal stabilizer so big. Wonder what the design decisions behind those choices were?
Thanks Bill and Herb!
Yeah, the wings look too short somehow.

Since it´s a longer time my dad built a Russian subject, he decided to start the new Clear Prop early Rata kit i bought him this year for his birthday.
Lots of parts, better detail and fit than the Eduard I-16s so far.

19 hours ago, georgeusa said:In the group photo, you could make the argument it is a family picture with the Stuka as the father, the 109 as the mother and the 112 as the offspring. You have to feel sorry for the 112 as it came so close to being an operational aircraft, but as chance would have it, the 109 was at the right place at the right time with the right performance. I've always like the lines of the 112 as it looks graceful, but not fragile. Your father's build and finish, as always is just top notch. Your photography is just superb. I wish you and your family well for Christmas and look forward to a happy New Year when your father's next piece of art arrives. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot guys!

#27/2023
Dear fellow modellers, this is most probably my dad´s last finished model for this year.
So we already wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024.
LF Models kit built oob, only added Eduard PE seatbelts and EZ Line for the antenna wire. Painted with Tamiya XF-5 Flat Green, XF-10 Flat Brown, XF-82 Ocean Gray 2 (RAF) and an old selfmixed RLM65.
It´s a typical shortrun kit but overall not a bad one. It´s full plastic, no PE, no resin no vacform.
Build thread hereThe He112 was the Bf109 rival which never really made it to success. Besides being hardly in German Luftwaffe use, 30 went to Japan, another 30 to Romania. 19 were used by Spain and only 3 flew with the RHAF.
Our Austrian Airforce also ordered 42 (later reduced to 36) He112B in late 1937, but due to our Anschluss to Germany they never were delivered.
During summer 1940, tension rose between Hungary and Romania over Transylvania and both mobilized their forces. If the conflict would have became hot, it would have been the first encounter between He112s.
In April 1941, during the Yugoslavian campaign, the Hungarian 112s received the typical yellow recognition markings for that area but never saw any combat. By spring 1944 none of the Hungarian He112 were servicable anymore. All three were destroyed most probably during the Allied bombing attacks on Hungary in summer 1944.DSC_0001 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr
