Gonna add an Indian Spitfire to the Indian Tempest. Would have preferred to do the camouflaged "96" with the Chakra roundels. There are Iliad Design and Model Alliance decals for this scheme, but the Chakras are on white ground. Actual info is that the chakras on camouflaged aircraft were on yellow ground. So gonna do the silver Indina scheme with the normal cockades included in the kit.

slowly putting the thing together
DSC_0003 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr
DSC_0004 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr
the fuselage half is slightly warped, has some tension, so gluing the areas together step by step
also using some plastic sheet for alignement help in the front area
for painting gonna use Mr Paint Camouflage Grey FS36170 and for the RAM areas a mix of MrPaint FS36170 and Dark Gull grey

So, here´s my dad´s latest completion.
Typical Roden kit so it didn´t turn out "perfect". Markings with Iliad Design decals. Seems nobody knows the Chinese camo colours, if they had any specific ones. Usually in kit and decal instructions you only read dark green and light grey. Painted the model with AK RC AII Protective Green and Tamiya XF-19 Sky Grey. Used 0,4mm plastic rods for the rigging.
Buid thread hereThe Chinese Airforce used a bunch of Staggerings as Air Ambulance during the concflict with Japan in the 40ies.
Found no pic of the original and have no idea how the interior of these planes looked, so built it according to the instructions.DSC_0001 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr

So, this is my dad´s last already finished and on hold model. Next ones are up to date.
Eduard kit "Ultimate Tempest" built oob. Painted with Mr Paint Super Silver. For the underwings, Eduard instructions have a question mark for the underside roundels and no serial numbers. But on the few online pics you can find, the Chakra Tempests have roundels and serials down under. Enough roundels are included in the kit, the serials were puzzled together with other serials from the kit and some from Fantasy Printshop.
Build thread hereAfter their independence, the Indian and Pakistan airforces were equipped with former RAF aircraft, which soon saw action in the First Indo-Pakistani War.
The Tempest for the RIAF were put out of storage in the UK, refurbished, painted and marked. For a short time, Indian aircraft wore Chakra roundels, then they were changed to normal ones. If Eduard´s info is true, the Brits painted the Chakras in Indian national colours instead of blue.

So, here´s my dad´s finished third and last I-16, for now.
Ark Models kit mostly oob. The kit is modular for different versions. For the Type 10 you have to sand off the cockpit door and an access panel on the right side.
The kit comes with cut out yourself vinyl masks. Would have preferred pre-cut kabuchi ones, but in the end the vinyl masks turned out ok.
Used 0,4mm plastic rods for the landing gear retraction cables. Painted with Mr Paint White Aluminium and AK RC Signal Red.
Build thread hereValery Pavlovich Chkalov was born in 1904 in Russia. In 1924 he joined a fighter unit and in 1935 he became the leader of the stunt/display team of the Airforce. He was also a test pilot and was awarded the title Hero of the Sovietunion in 1936. He participated in several long distance flights, among them a 63 hrs non stop flight from Moscow to the US pacific coast via the North Pole. He died on Dec. 15th 1938 in an landing accident with the Polikarpov I-180 prototype.

The green looks god on the Hog, but the colorful addons are rather brute...
A typical USAF heritage scheme 😞 with hardly any feeling to it... IMHO only of course!
Compared with some of our Austrian special schemes of which some are awesome looking, you´re right 😁
Thanks, appreciated!
