Nice Commando pic's - almost a full walkround without any walking!!! The head-on shot is cool, that machine just looks like it means "mean". Brill pic's Grant, Eng

A shiny gloss black Hawk looks stunning at all times, and yours is no exception! I did the Airfix 1/72 kit in 208 Sqn markings and had the same prob's trying to get a smooth (dust free!) gloss black finish. The Harrier is a work of art, simply beautiful, love the underside weathering and the MDC in the canopy is super sharp, is it painted on or a decal? Beautiful builds, all three!! Eng

Revell definetly - look for the HAS.6/AEW.2 version, and as already mentioned the MA decalsheet is brilliant. I've got an ongoing project to build a HAR.5 of 819Sqn at HMS Gannet, Prestwick from the Revell kit, with folded blades and a few other kit mod's. Eng

There's a sight that will never be seen on a RAF base again for real. Beautiful collection - I take it you have a HUUUGE house!!! Eng

Fab collection, LOVE the Cranny with the black and yellow belly, must rate as the most colourful Canberra around! The BAC1-11 and the Seaking also look superb. Makes a change from grey I guess!! Eng

Nice pic's mate, we get loads of the HMS Gannet HAR.5's cross the house on the way to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, they stop in at the airport regularly dropping off military personnel or just for a top up, and they very rarely look clean but I think the Navy cab's really suit a good coat of grime! Beautiful, just won one on eBay last week and can't wait to get it started, a stunning build, black and white always looks so crisp and sharp. Eng

Was in the model shop with my wife and kids the other week and my daughter (3 1/2 years) commented that she thought I should build a pink one, within seconds one of the guy's in the shop had her holding a pre-painted pink Spitfire (can't remember the manufacturer, it had one piece fuse, one piece wing, prop, stab's and a radiator piece) and needless to say she was quite taken with it. All the way home it was "can I build it" and sure enough it was built, dismantled and rebuilt several times during lunch but she's now chuffed to bits to have a pink aeroplane that matches the bedroom walls perfectly hanging from the ceiling! I started on Matchbox stuff when I was 4 with help from my Dad, and that was it, I was always amazed that I could go to bed and when I woke up in the morning there would always be something sitting complete on the dining room table. Both my kids love looking at my models and sitting looking in the boxes of unstarted kits, and I remember reading something years ago that using your hands and fingers as a youngster helps your brain develop. If thats true then what better hobby to introduce them too, scale, colour, fit etc goes out the window for youngsters, they're just proud of there achievements and rightly so, they should be encouraged, not knocked down because the colour isn't quite right etc. Good on you Imogen, keep up the good work! Thank's for the info, thought it might have been the display aircraft - looks damn good! Heard them depart and just saw the back end of the last aircraft disappear out of view!! Had hoped to get some pic's as well. :shithappens: Eng

Help folk's!!! The following 3 Hawk's nightstopped at Glasgow on 23rd-24th May (XX325, XX245 and XX195), and I was fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of them on the GA apron as I passed on my way to work this morning. (Was more p***ed off that I'd kept an ear/eye out for them heading out all day, then missed them as I was handing work over to the guy's on lateshift!! Bloody typical!) The query I have is that one of these aircraft appeared to have a flash along the side in RAF Red/white/blue, and a very large half roundel covering most of the fin forward of the rudder, but I can't find any pic's of this aircraft, I'm not even sure which of the 3 listed above was the one wearing the scheme. Can anyone tell me which aircraft it was and why the marking's - pic's would be a real bonus! Cheers, Eng

Ah, "Chickenhawk" found my copy the other day and intend to read this again soon - one helluva good read and Huey inspiration in spades!! Like the sound of your current projects and can't wait to see some pic's. Rgds, Eng

James, As above I've several kits and would happily part with sprue. PM me if you want one. Eng

Funny thing is I was thinking last night about all the "In-progress" builds I have going on, atleast 30, and how I enjoy glueing stuff together then kinda loose interest at the painting stage, but if I'm on a roll and get by this normal stumbling block I enjoy the completion stages - decalling, weathering etc. I thought to myself wouldn't it be great to just buy a couple of cheap kits, Airfix or Italeri and just build them as I did when I was a youngster - open the box, glue it all together, slap some paint on it and put the decals on. Skip all the stuff I do now such as adding seat belts, detailing the cockpit, paint it-Klear-decals-Klear-weathering-matt coat and so on, just to see what it would turn out like. I've an Airfix Harrier T.10 in the stash that might just be the release I need to get back at the longer projects that are dying a slow death in several cupboards! Eng

Sweet set of Hunter's - Love the GA.11!! Reminded me I've got a conversion set from A2Zee and a spare Revell Hunter upstairs in the stash. Very nice, would I be right in saying there's a conversion for a T.7 in 1/48th scale for the Academy Hunter? Eng

As mentioned already the Revell/Italeri kit is one and the same, built the Italeri boxing a while back (pic's not on this PC unfortunately - will post later) and it's not too bad, did lose most of the fwd fuselage panel lines trying to clean up the seam and couldn't be arsed to re-scribe them so left it as is. Used Xtradecal sheet for 111 Sqn aircraft and was pretty chuffed with it as it was one of the first kits I had a go at after a break of about 10 years from the hobby - still needs some weapons onboard though!! I also have a Hasegawa example in the stash with a Flightpath detail set to go with it and decals for 43 Sqn, I've built the Hasegawa GR.1 and it's a pretty nice kit so the F.3 won't be much different. Looks like an attempt to re-create one of those old Luftwaffe "Mistel" thingy's with a 109 and a Ju88!!! Love the rocketman clip - how F***in cool is that - have asked the wife for one for Crimbo....... (she said I'm already a space cadet!?!) Eng

Superb Al, was almost tempted to do a Special Ops MH-6 from the Academy 1/48 kit after reading "The Nightstalkers" that Stephen had loaned to me. (Couldn't quite bring myself to tackle all the changes reqd). The book is a brilliant read - guarantee you'll want another "thing with spinning wing's" once you've read it! Love your helo, very nice job. Eng

Absolutely beautiful!!! Eng

:shithappens: Oh boll*x - just about finished a 9 Sqn GR.4 with wings swept, 4 1000lb'er's under the belly and 2 2500ltr tanks on the inner pylon's!!! Guess I'll just need to hope those tanks are empty and forget the BOZ/Skyshadow pods. Eng

Nice sentiment and in great spirit, but really can't get excited about this scheme I'm afraid. Once pretty much any aircraft has appeared in polished gloss black....there's no going back. Eng
