Good Evening all, Thank you very much for all the superb feedback, didn't expect it to go down quite so well. Will definitely be building more of these thats for sure! Tony - I didn't have any trouble with the DXM decals at all and they are far from thick, infact really thin but nice and strong. I didn't use a wash on the aircraft in the end as I wanted a relatively clean looking airframe, the shading is from pre-shade only. The decals performed beautifully and without a hitch with Microset/sol. I was nervous about applying the long nose stripes but the went down perfectly and the slight imperfection in fit is my own fault (the RH side is a tiny bit higher than the LH). I would use these again, but I did have some feedback from a very knowledgable Tomcat guy that DXM's colours and sizes can sometimes be a bit off, personally they looked fine to me and I cant fault them at all. Lovely build, this is a beauty and pretty big even in 1/144. Academy have a new tool B-52 in 1/144 coming as a follow on to their B-1B, if its as good as the B-1 it should be well worth a go! Good reason to build another! Eng

Academy's wonderful new tool 1/72 scale F-14A built out of the box (with the exception of aftermarket decals from DXM Decals) as a relatively clean and new F-14A of VF-1 'Wolfpack', NK-106, BuNo 158995, circa 1978. Painted with Mr Hobby Aqueous Colour and Tamiya paints and varnish coated with Humbrol Satin varnish. The kit builds beautifully with excellent fit and engineering, and has all the parts you need to do either an A, B or D version of the Tomcat. Only minor gripe is the kit comes with only the one set of markings for VF-143 'Pukin Dogs' however, lets face it Tomcat decals are not difficult to come by!! Only minor addition still required will be the two AIM-9 and single AIM-7 training rounds I've chosen for this build. Hope you like it. Eng

Brillant set of images, fantastic variety of squadrons and armament. I believe the CBLS used on the Tornado's is the CBLS200 series which is slightly longer than the CBLS100 used on other types such as the Hawk, and in days gone by the Jag and Harrier. Eng

I know you specified just the A, but if its as good as the new B version then the Academy kit in 1/72 would be my choice. The value for money over the Hasegawa kit is significant and in my opinion the surface detail is better too. Eng
