  1. This is superb, I'm liking the step by step painting process, it's always good to see how everyone else goes through the process. Cant wait for the next instalment. Eng
  2. I was liking your aircraft and ground equipment which are superb, then I got to the billet! Exceptional, a lot of time and effort has gone into this, brilliant attention to detail. Eng
  3. Beautiful, looks great in the wraparound camo. Remember seeing these many times when I lived up in the NE as a youngster. Lovely build and and very nicely finished. Eng
  4. Wonderful build and finish on this SHar, incredible work. Eng
  5. These are just superb, each one an absolute stunner! Loving this thread very much. So what we got to look forward to next? Fantastic work, Eng
  6. Thank you all very much indeed for the kind comments, after a long lay-off I really got the bug again as soon as the painting started to progress and then I couldn't leave it alone! Think the F-5F will be the blue/grey scheme for something a bit different. Cheers, Eng
  7. The kit goes together beautifully, just the usual bit of care especially when fitting the gun bay panels on the nose. Although mine has the canopy open, I'm not sure the canopy sits too well in the closed position with the seat in as I had to remove the seat to temp fit the canopy in the closed position for spraying. The main gear outer doors are a bit fiddly with 3 operating arms each the size of a gnats what's-it! You'll it though, I've got an F-5F to look forward to as well. Thanks for the kind comments. Eng
  8. Evening all, was back at work today but did finally manage to get this beauty finished over my days off this week. AFV Club F-5N straight out of the box. I do have a PJ Productions pilot to drop into the pit shortly and I did have to replace the AFV Club decals with a set of Two Bobs decals, fortunately for an aircraft in the same colour scheme! A bit disappointing the the kit decals didn't play ball but the quality of the Two Bobs sheet kinda made up for it. Main finish done with Tamiya acrylics airbrushed, details done in Vallejo acrylics. Klear used before and after decalling and weathering done using with Promodeller Dark dirt wash, Tamiya smoke, pastels and silver pencil. Photo's taken outside with my trusty phone so hope the pics are up to scratch, nose pitot probe lasted less than 30 secs!! Will replace it with a section of needle I think. Hope you like! I'm in love with her Eng
  9. Just a thought re. the reworking of the nose, could you cut the nose and build in a plug section rather than having to reshape the whole forward nose with putty? Will be be watching your progress with these, love what you've done so far, the pilots helmets look brilliant. I'd love for Airfix to release an E/F version just so I could build a full fleet of Aggressors! Great work, Eng
  10. Oooohhhh! That's flippin gorgeous, you've done a belter of a job with that, seriously impressive Ian. I'll second the request for more pics and close ups, too much good stuff to look at here. Beautiful work, Rgds, Eng
  11. I think the early criticism of this kit is a shame as it will have undoubtedly have put a lot of people off but provided you're not a rivet counting perfectionist, and it's fine by me if you are, I think it builds into a lovely looking jet. This is a beautiful looking build, very nicely weathered, and I like the asymmetric load. Very nice indeed, great inspiration to get back to mine. Eng
  12. Just come across this and wow, that is seriously impressive! Stunning piece of work so far. Eng
  13. Wow! I think you've just put all the doubters and nay-sayers back in their boxes, that is absolutely stunning Eng
  14. I recently received resin kits from this company in 1/72 and have to admit their stuff is really nice! I ordered their RAF/RN modern tractor/tug which is beautifully cast and include the resin kit, PE, decals and precut clear acetate for the windows as well as a resin tow bar as well. The other item ordered was a pair of RAF Houchin GPU's which again are beautifully cast and include decals, only thing you'll need to add to this set would be cables if you wish to depict the unit connected up to your aircraft. Give them a look, you won't be disappointed, and they arrived within 3 days of dispatch notification from Italy. The tug was packaged in a small but robust card box with bubble wrap and foam protecting the delicate window framing on the tug and the other parts packed carefully in zip-loc bags. The GPU's are in a nice little blister pack and again carefully packed. Instructions in both kits are very professionally done, clear, concise and giving colour callouts throughout the build stages. I'll try and post a short review later unless there is something already up on this site. Eng
  15. Beautifully painted and finished! I'd struggle to get a finish like that with an airbrush. Cant wait to have a go at the one I've got in the stash. Eng
  16. Very nice, like the engine covers, are these home-made? Eng
  17. #Best104ever! Jeez, that is awesome, what a stunner, incredible paint job there. Gorgeous! Eng
  18. Finally got back to it this week, got a Promodeller Dark wash on followed by a Matt varnish coat (Humbrol rattle can) and am working through some subtle pastel weathering and staining just now. These birds seem to be generally well looked after other than paint fading so keep reminding myself to avoid getting too carried away. I've also assembled my PJ Productions pilot and got a coat of paint onto him as well, he needs some detail painting and drybrushing to finish him off (and if I can find a decal small enough, a red star on his bone dome!) Just one quick pic tonight - Almost there! Eng
  19. Yep, I'd be chuffed as hell with that too. Great looking Phantom! Eng
  20. Last weekends visitor to Glasgow! Managed to get down to catch this on the evening before it left. Think this is the 3rd visit we've had over the past couple of months from KC-130's, reckon words spread among the Marine aircrews that a weekend in Glasgow can be "interesting"! Caught these 2 pics of EK025 arriving from Dubai on Sunday night, was particularly pleased with the second shot just as the rear wheel kissed the tarmac One final shot of one of my baby's on finals, I never noticed the second aircraft in the picture until I'd looked at the photo's on the "big computer" Eng
  21. That's a bloody impressive paint job! Awesome work indeed. Eng
  22. I'm in the same position, all the bits n pieces to build it as a GR.4 but there is just no aftermarket decals for recent aircraft. I think there was an Xtradecal sheet for one of the specials a while back but it's like hens teeth these days. I'd settle for a sheet of stencil markings with maybe one special and a line jet if anyone out there is up to producing some? 12 and 31 Sqn? Eng
  23. Looking sweet! Mines taken a back seat while I try and finish my AFV Club F-5N Eng
  24. Very nicely turned out from quite an old kit too. Lovely build.
