  1. Very nice. I agree about the size as I have an example in 1/48. I was really surprised about how big it was. Should have thought about size when I added a Global Hawk in the same scale to my stash, may have to extend the house a little to make it fit!!!!!!
  2. Very nice results and welcome back. Some good skills on display. As for the weathering, get a cheap basic kit and build it without worrying about the finish, then practice the weathering to your hearts content. Worked for me as if you get it wrong you aren't gutted that you just messed up your best model ever!?!
  3. Got to be a pinkie! Think of the fun of all that weathering!!!
  4. It will be like the film Top Secret, they'll just have a few and fly round in big circles to look like there's lots!?! As for the date to be honest I don't know, better weather perhaps?
  5. From my info there will be a 100 aircraft flypast over London on the 10th July. Most of London will be shut down when they go over so a good view, depending on the weather of course, should be readily available
  6. Deleted - wanted post
  7. Not as bad as you made out. As for gazillions of decals, try a US Navy Phantom. Last one I did, in 1/48, there were the best part of 250 (just the stencils!) Keep going and enjoy your hobby
  8. Stunning result but, my word, I don't think I'll ever think it looks good! Very impressive model though
  9. I was an assistant ATC. Opted to go South as had recently been posted to LJAO at West Drayton after Abingdon closed down. Awful posting so was more than happy to avoid the place for a few months. I remember the scheme very well, nice to see Airfix bringing it back
  10. I was there May to August 1991, posted to HQBFFI. Must have just missed each other!
  11. Great looking model. I remember flying in one of these around the Falklands back in the early 90's. We called them Erics as they were operated by Bristows. Big beasts as I remember
  12. I hope that you do get the chance to see one in the flesh. They are mighty impressive and the rotors are enormous!
  13. Fantastic result, what was the build like? Looking at yours I really must invest in one
  14. Very nice result. Wish someone would release an update set though. I see the Osprey regularly around Mildenhall and would like to model an in service airframe
  15. A great looking modelmof an aircraft that looks sooooooo cool. Only wish someone did onein 1/48, would look great next to my F23
  16. Understand 617 has gone F35 but, when the Tonka fleet departs our skies, surely such an impotant machine could be painted in all the old squadron colours of those that flew them???
  17. The Tonka looks great! Ever thought of sending a pic to the MoD/RAF? Would make a stunning retirement scheme for the real thing
  18. Very nice indeed, big lump even against your B1
  19. Excellent result for a first copter build, something a little more straight forward next time perhaps?? Luv the scheme. Was lucky enough to see a Hind up close and personal at Biggin Hill in the most amazing colours ever. Had the Alien look from HR Geiger and, as I have the Revell 1/48 kit, have been tempted but not sure either my skills or my sanity are up to the challenge!
  20. Very nice indeed of what is my all time favourite aircraft. Really must finish mine with decals for Mav and Goose just waiting to be applied
  21. Just luv a 2 seat Hunter and this example looks great. Hard to imagine that it's so small. Hats off to anyone skilled enough to get a result this good on a model of this size.
  22. Stunning result, thanks for sharing. What did you use to get that very realistic weathering effect?
