  1. Apologies if this is i the wrong section, please feel free to move it.

My son and I have recently visited the RAF Museum in Hendon after its recent make over and was rather impressed. Seeing the Bucc in close up again after many years (worked with them at RAF Abingdon) was very impressive. Looking at it just made me think that something wasn't quite right.

The airframe in question is XW547 still marked up as 'Guiness Girl' I'd taken a few pics and checked when I got home. The powers that be have painted a veil over the young ladies chest!?!

I could be wrong but if a museum attepmts to change history to spare a few blushes then what's next???????

    Rant over.........for now

Thanks for the info but I'm looking for USAF markings, not ones for the Marines. Thanks anyway

Check Fantasy Printshop to see if they have the Wolfpak decal sheet 48-04.  It has a CV-22 on it.  Wolfpak themselves are sold out of that sheet.

    Later,

    Dave

Nothing listed on either site but thanks for the info. I'll keep looking

  4. Morning all. I'm currently constructing the Osprey in 1/48. Using the Blackdog set it will be a USAF CV22. Does anyone know of any decals for this version?? Any help will be gratefully received

  5. Very nice indeed. I see these wonderful machines most days over my home. We seem to be the turn around point for the Biggin trips here in West Kingsdown. They come to us, a few aerobatics and home for tea and medals!! Still have to stop and watch, one day perhaps................

  6. For all those planning on converting the Tamiya D into a B, just remember this sage piece of advice, just after you finish your pride and joy, the model you just made will be announced as the next release, without the need to convert anything!?! Feel free to ask me how I know 😠😠😠😠😠😠

This is VERY embarrassing, but I’m modelling a C130 Hercules from RAF Lyneham which was the first aircraft I ever worked on as a new engine mechanic. I started on CHF in October 1973 and a year or so later moved onto ‘B’ Line and stayed there until 1978 when I went off on my fitters course.

The thing is, for the life of me I can’t remember what colour the Hercs were when I was there. I’m hoping there is an expert out there on britmodeller who will know whether they were grey and green with a light grey underside or brown and sand with a black underside.

I was only there for five years and went all round the world and must have worked on and flown in every Herc at Lyneham but can’t remember the colour....told you it was embarrassing.

    Thank you in anticipation

    bob

It's not embarrassing as it happens to us all!
