  1. Thanks PlatStix. You very kind. Being a newbie in the modelling world is tough! so many chances to mess with a model... I hope my next ones take some lessons from this one. Cheers Thanks Leonl. Cheers mate.
  2. Thanks Andy for the tips. I was mainly disappointed with 2 things, the underside colour as I checked some information on Sky and ended up using Vallejo reference for it to then realize it wasnt right. Second the overall weathering wasnt great... i even had a go with a chep kit as test subject and both paint job and weathering looks better there go figure I will have a look at Prismacolour. I probably should have at least used sponge technique on this one... well well, next one Thanks for looking.
  3. Hi All, Here is my 2nd model on this forum and my first ever 1:48 aircraft. So i went with Tamiya inspired by many builds of this kit here on BM. From a newbie perspective I made every single mistake that was possible during the building. From wrong colors and respraying it to destroying extradecal roundels, not having a very good looking canopy in the end and so on and so on Colours are Vallejo Air. I still like the result all things considered. a few from during the build: Thanks for looking. Dema
  4. you made my day nice to see Senna gorgeous models! :-)
  5. Im sure one of the BM Gurus will give a good answer but i believe the time depends on paint brand/type. Just for reference I use mostly acrylic model air Vallejo. And i normally wait for good 12 to 24 hours and they are supposedly one to the fast dry side.
  6. Nice job! I like this kit too. Nice to build and the details are quite good. Cheers
  7. its a lovely build. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Lovely build, have one on the bench waiting for decals. hope it look a bit like yours
  9. Looking very good. I have one parked just after this point. I think i got the colours wrong, yours looks very good. Also, my is the 70s version and the newbie here thought it would be ok to use the in box decals haha, needless to say they disintegrated in contact with water What colours have you used? I started a Spitfire mk1 and now got closer to the colours (using vallejo dark earth (a bit too dark) and vallejo Medium Olive (the best green i found among my paint bottles). The green seems ok but the brown is definitely off...) Cheers
  10. Hi Ceb, great work so far. Im making a hurricane mk1 as well, the old tooling one (from 70s) and for the camo I used a vinyl masking film i bought at the essex model show few weeks ago. Unless you are rescribing it and getting rid of the raised details, i would not recommend to use them as it tends to "bleed" in every bit that on top of a raised detail. Other than that, it works well, is reusable and easy to cut in specific shape... Cheers Dema
