Thought I'd post some pics of a build that's been going on some time, meant to be relatively quick but life has very definitely got in the way this year! Started back in April, very slow progress; The plan is a Mk11 Chieftain with a 432, on a simple base, extras are Voyager models etch for the Chieftain and Tetra model works etch for the 432 with Master Club tracks for both, which I haven't used before. Accurate Armour figures with Hornet heads when we get that far. Started with the Chieftain building up the hull and replacing various bits with the etch; Turret next, hopefully it'll move a bit faster! Cheers Nick

Hi Beefy, looking nice mate. I think the float in the cage is a form of life buoy. cheers Nick

Looks very organised Beefy, you've shamed me into ordering some to tidy up my desk! Good luck with the aerials. Cheers Nick

Yep, WEP spreaders with 700 denier Caenis line. Hi Michael, what do you use for ‘clear’?

She’s coming together lovely Beefy, looking forward to following the rest. The WEM spreaders are great 👍 cheers Nick

1/350 works for me too, not too small that I can’t see it and I’ve got sausage fingers! Good luck if you do decide to give one a go! Thanks David 👍

Superb, great job 👍

Thanks Graham - not sure how'd they come out in 1/700, threading them in 1/350 was quite tricky! Cheers Joseph. There are some great pics (quite scary actually) of the quarterdeck awash in heavy seas. She got about 2000tons heavier than designed during construction and ended up with 2ft less freeboard than intended (from AOTS). Thanks for the comment. Hours wise I have no clue I'm afraid. She took about 18 month to finish (I work away a lot so limited bench time). She's 75cm long and 89 on the base. Cheers Nick

Great build, the weathering is superb - is there a WIP? Would it be an emergency conning position if the bridge was out of action? I think this is the modern equivalent on a Type 23 Cheers Nick

Great work Guy, she looks great. On the question of flags, I've had some success in 1/350 cutting a piece of heavy kitchen foil to the size of the flag placing it on the inside face face of the decal and wrapping it round a piece of Uschi line; Cheers Nick -
Very nice! Which kit is it? Cheers Nick

I’ve used this stuff and was pleased with the results; https://www.precisioniceandsnow.com/dioramas.html cheers Nick
