  1. Thanks @Dads203 & @Swiftnbold for the pics and everyone else for the like and comments 👍 I'll add the door stay in a bit. More paint - Green; And NATO black; Coming together now. Cheers Nick
  2. Cheers Beefy Thanks Bertie, I'm learning loads about the real things as I go Thanks for the feedback advice, much appreciated! BV's and mudflaps done but I'm not sure about the cable. Out of curiosity, where did it plug into? I had assumed the BV's power supply were integral to the vehicle wiring. Mud flaps are pinned, and it's all ready for priming; I hadn't really looked at the BV's, I assume the tea dispenser is represented on the kit by the bump on the bottom right of each unit? Checked Dr Google and made some up out of brass rod; Added some handles and the vents on the top as well and a bit of silver on the clasps, also a piece of 0.2mm copper wire on top to 'split' the unit - If I'd noticed before assembly I'd have put a saw cut but too late! Before; After; I'll give em some chipping for wear as part of the final weathering. All ready for priming; And finally, some paint on the outside; Bit of touch up and some green tomorrow - I love Christmas holidays!! Cheers Nick
  3. Expensive day out!! Not much time to post of late so a bit of a catch up from odd bits and bobs over the last few months. Following on from @Dads203 advice about the commanders radios had a go at 3d modelling the CPU's; SHapeways did the honours; Painted up; And fitted with tin foil neck straps. I know the cables from the headsets should go in the top but they're superglued on; Got some extra bits to busy up the rear of the 432 a bit more and made the bench cages. Copper wire soldered to the mesh this time. Not quite as neat (I need soldering practice) as the plastic and mesh but I guess they'd get kicked a lot 😜; And some GPMG's from Accurate Armour. The idea is to put one in the back to add interest but I'll replace the kit one for the 432. NOt going to with the Chieftain as it's all asembled; Extra kit and bench screens fitted, the kit tool boxes went under the benches; And the GPMG installed; Last bits of PE on the hull side and rear; And those parts than need to be painted separately getting detailed; And it's finally ready for pint on the outside! Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas! Cheers Nick
  4. Hi Mine was over the top of tamiya acyrlics but with the base cost sealed with semi gloss varnish before each chipping later, I.e yellow sealed and camouflage chipped, then sealed, and white applied and chipped.
  5. Great start, I might have to try one of these. I used chipping fluid to get a worn white wash look on a tiger a few year ago. Worked out ok.
  6. Perfect, thankyou, and for the comment 👍
  7. Thank you, they turned out ok. I'm going to do the cages below the rearmost two benches either side as the large ammo box at the front clashes with the first bench (and it's very firmly stuck down!). Cheers Nick
  8. Too late!! They’ve only just gone out on exercise, that’s my excuse 😜
  9. Cheers mate, I like adding bits from feedback and info, but it does get a bit addictive 🙂 Driver's got his harness and comms cable; Mesh arrived for the cages; With hindsight I'd have used copper wire for the frame; Test fit; Some dust in the back; Cages installed; And finally the roof can go on!! Thanks for the comments and likes and again to @Dads203, @Swiftnbold and @metadyne for the help on the details. (how do you quote a persons user name 'properly'?) Cheers Nick
  10. Cheers Beefy, isn't it nice to get constructive info from people who take an interest and want to help? 👍
  11. Thanks again Dan, appreciate the help. At the risk of being a pain...........what would the chieftain crew have had in terms comms leads, pressel switch's or CPU's? I think for the driver I'll just tuck the cable in under the roof in that area and secure it, as you say it'll be difficult to see from the, not to mention connecting it when the roof's on. Cheers Nick
  12. Thanks for the reply, I'll have a go at the harness although with the roof not yet on the fixing will be tricky - one to ponder! Really appreciate the help and take it entirely in the way it's meant, nice to get pointers from people who've got experience of the real thing. I'll have a look at access for a brush to see if I can get to those areas. Thanks Dan, would that be this box, if so where would it plug in? I'll have a go at re-wiring him. Where would the CBFD be fitted? Cheers Nick
  13. This pic shows the gear selector pedal; Thanks for the tip on the harness, didn't know that. Pic on the internet looks like 6 point in black webbing, does that sound right? Cheers mate. Cages will be installed when the bits arrive. SOme body else mentioned an SMG bracket but I couldn't find any references for it so strategicaly placed it - hope it doesn't look too out of place! Thanks Roger. Cheers Nick
  14. Looks great Cheers Nick
  15. Bit of of progress over the weekend as senior management (the wife) is away 😃 The crew have finally had their heads and comms cables installed; Kit loaded into the back of the 432 and the drivers area; Driver's had his cable for the radio fitted; And he's finally taken a seat and been connected to the radio (hopefully in the right place)! His feet don't reach the pedals and in the next pic he looks a bit high so I'm assuming Taken have moulded the seat in the fully position (or he has short legs)? Test fit of the hatch over him, carefully observed by the commander; Now he's in I've fitted the glacis plate and a few bits of etch installed while I wait for the mesh for the cages in the back to be delivered; Thanks for looking and the helpful tips and pics along the way. Cheers Nick !
  16. It’s got a small pedal to the left included in the kit but to be honest I don’t know which mark that makes it? Mesh ordered for the cages, thanks for the info. cheers Nick
  17. Fantastic pictures, thanks very much. Am I right in thinking that the kit I've got stowed in the 432 should be behind a mesh cage? All of both side or would the NBC filter equipment be left exposed? Cheers Nick
  18. Cheers John, he does look a bit sleepy! Thanks Ade, I'm happier with the new ones and used a little oil wash around the eyes. Cheers for the tip 👍
  19. Hello everyone. Slow progress due to work stuff; Had another look at the faces and in natural light as opposed to a desk lamp thought they looked a bit 'blotchy' were the colours didn't blend too well. I had a spare set of hornet heads for another planned project so thought I'd try again; Before; After; And with mikes fitted, the driver with goggles in hasn't been redone for comparison; The new ones may a bit too 'pink' but im happier with the shading so I'm going to stick with these. Test fit of the stowage in the 432 and Chieftain; And bits painted up in preparation for placing in the 432; Cheers Nick
  20. Hi Beefy, just caught up with this one. Cracking job mate. cheers Nick
  21. Thanks Rob 👍 Thanks John, they do look suitably miserable! Cheers Ed Thanks Vytautas
