  1. Great work, Brewer. You have impressed. 1/72 or otherwise - that is one hell of a great finish.
  2. Haha! I love the bike. What a great finish. It looks so tough almost like you could hit it with a hammer and the hammer would bounce right back. I like.
  3. Beautifully finished model. Appears a simple subject at first glance but it looks too perfect to be an easy build. Well presented paint work and your decal work is to be admired. Many thanks for sharing.
  4. So realsitic - and the photography using the white backdrop with good lighting makes your model stand out even better. I cannot compliment you enough here.
  5. Wow! I love the Phantom and you have done it proud here. Great decal choice too.
  6. Great decal work. It looks great! You have impressed. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Just beautiful work. And your photography is simply perfect for showing off that exquistely detailed paint job. White backgrounds are the best backdrop by far as it reduces distraction from your model to virtually nil - the lighting has to be great too of course - and you nailed that too! Thanks for sharing. You have inspired!
  8. Great job. Well done. One of the last RNZAF "All White" Sunderland's sits just down the road from where I live. Used to be a forlorn sight but the good ol' boys at the transport museum have over the last couple of years seen to it she is under wraps for restoration. My walk around pics for what it's worth http://www.nzphotosurvey.co.nz/micro-cam-test-shorts-sunderland-mark-v-under-restoration-at-motat/ Nice subject matter and well worked kit. Thanks for sharing!
  9. As stunning as the real thing. The Vixen was / is one big beautiful bird and you have done yourself proud - well done indeed. People like me really appreciate a well finished kit.
  10. Brilliant job Sir. I love seeing kits finished like this. It always reminds me why I like modelling.
  11. Great finish, Ian. Just catching up on a few older Britmodeller completions and yours stood out for me. I have this kit still in the box waiting for me after a number of years now. I must get to sooner rather than later - you have inspired!
  12. Nice work. Well done. I'd like to try this build myself one day soon, maybe with some weathering.
  13. As stated by many already... fantastic. Interior detail has been noticed. Squared away look heading to the hangar is magnicent too. Thanks for sharing your superbly built model.
  14. You had me at "HMS Hermes"... Just kidding. But seriously, wow! Great job. A diarama worthy of a museum display surely. Reminded me of May/June 1982.
  15. Love the detail at that scale. Impressive work. Well done!
  16. Must be one of the earliest Airfix kits surely. I recall my old man making one of these in the late 1960s or early 1970s (I remember it as a young kid as it hung above my head from my bedroom ceiling for many years). Great finish. And nice aerial work may I add.
  17. Great pics. They show the detail and work you put in really well. Nice subject matter too. Well presented and you have inspired!
  18. Wow! That is one cool looking Jav. Excellent subtle weathering detailing and paintwork. Well done, Sir! Was pleasantly surprised to discover it was an Airfix kit, but I suppose they have improved so much since the days of everything having "raised panel lines".
  19. Looks really good from here. Well done. Great finish even if the panel lines appear 'a tad heavy' for you - for that scale, I think it is fairly forgiving with respect to that level of detail.
  20. Ok - have ordered. Too easy, as you suggested. Will look at that Roden in due course.
  21. Haha! Oh boy - how's that for similar experience at my end. My last school teacher in Zim (Rho) was a Kiwi bloke. He tried to tell me all about "the land of the long white cloud" and what that meant. I took his words of warning with a grain of salt - hoping for the best but expecting the worst. As we began descent into Auckland the Air New Zealand DC-10 pilot exclaimed, "Well folks, the weather in Auckland, and beyond, is seriously wet. Winter is finally here. The farmers will be happy!". Drought? New Zealand - drought!?! Whaaaaat? So, New Zealand was exactly as I had expected - wet, wet, cold, wet... oh, did I mention wet? Winter here is a misery - but excellent for indoors model building during the week.
  22. Greetings - was wondering where you got the decals from... I went to F-RSIN and could not find them myself. The search did not bring up anything either for me. I must be doing something wrong there, but would be grateful if you could let me know. cheers!
  23. Ah, yes - what a great model. It's a beauty! Well done indeed. I flew the 'Matablele' bird from Harare (Salisbury then) to Jo'burg on 13 April 1978, a start of a four day journey with my family on its way to New Zealand - my parents eventually choosing to join thousands of other Rhodies on the 'Chicken Run', as it was called. The 'bush war' had no end in sight at that point. Only months later an Air Rhodesia domestic flight Viscount was shot down shortly after leaving Kariba with a SAM. Another was to follow a similar fate in early 1979. Watching things like that come up on the TV news half way around the world in quiet little ol' NZ had my parents convinced they did the right thing. I've never been back but the history of those days and Air Rhodesia have always interested and fascinated me. As an aviation nut, I can say the story of the 720s 'acquisition' is worthy of a movie, but the story would probably would be considered too un-PC these days. The wrong people got 'diddled'. Still, she makes fine model and I am now considerably inspired for seeing it. I want to make this now! Thank you also for bringing back some memories.
