Hawker Sea Hawk FGA.6 (Hobbyboss 1/72)
Knight_Flyer replied to link1987's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Excellent build, the weathering looks very effective I think we've all been there about not putting enough weight in the nose, I've completed a few models and done exactly that. -

Nice build. I built the re-issued boxing and it really is a small model as shown in your first pic. -

Agree with the other posters, that is an impressive dio. I like the water effect, it's very realistic -
Awful model kits to avoid unless you have zero choice !
Knight_Flyer replied to kolibri282's topic in Aircraft WWII
Personally I can't think of any kit manufacturers to steer clear of. From what I've seen brands like Airfix, Revell, Hasegawa, Tamiya etc are capable of producing good model kits. Sometimes one of them makes a better kit than the others. It's generally commented Tamiya makes the best 1/72 P-51D Mustang but it doesn't mean to say I would avoid building Airfix or Hasegawa because of that. -

Agree it's a great looking model and I like the Jolly Rogers scheme. -
Outstanding, you've done a great job with the bare metal finish not to mention the build

1/72 Airfix Focke-Wulf Fw 190A Oberstleutenant Josef "Pips" Priller This is the old Airfix 190 and from my "original" collection. Not many models from that collection have survived the house moves and even with this one I had to fix the landing gear after it got broke. With this particular model I was at the time attempting a mottled camo scheme. Looking at it now, it's probably not right for a 190 maybe it will work for an early 109. The bomb is another inaccuracy, I sometimes add ordnance even though the real aircraft never carried any. I have the new mould 190 which hopefully I will build someday. Would make for a nice camparo.

De Havilland Chipmunk, Canadian Armed Forces
Knight_Flyer replied to Knight_Flyer's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks Stosh, glad you like the scheme Well I suppose it would make sense to do a Beaver Joking aside I actually have an unbuilt DHC-2 kit by Hobby Craft. The mould appears to be the same age as the Airfix Chipmunk. Decals are pretty much gone so have to come up with something from the spares box. -
That is an "unusual" looking plane and I like the camo scheme as well. Definitely a model I would consider building.
