  1. Hey Jackson, Thank you. Dora Wings promised one for this year. That's why I rushed to finish mine... My karma! Take care Rato
  2. Hi Luka, Thank you for your kind words... I 've been reeling over the last two months to write an article for a magazine, but I may give it up and publish in my site, only. Let's see... Cheers Rato
  3. Thanks guys. It was more an experiment with OPR, that's why I used the Academy kit. Not a bad kit, though. Marcello, the 'fat' type stars were cut off from an FCM sheet. Serials applied one by one, and the writing on the nose printed myself. Rato
  4. Thank you guys. Glad you liked it. Pete, yes, it swivels 360 degrees. Its not usual but I have a few photos showing it that way. I thought it would be a nice touch. I received a couple of emails warning me of the 'incorrectly glued' nose wheel, though... Rato
  5. Really stunning model. One to be proud of. Congrats. Rato Marczak
  6. Just a teaser. Published in the last issue of SAM. A dog of a kit from Amodel. 1/72 scale. For those modelers who truly enjoy sanding... http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/tmp/IMG_9708.JPG http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/tmp/IMG_9717.JPG Hope you like it. Cheers. Rato Marczak
  7. Hi guys, It's been a while since my last time around here. Let me show you my Academy P-47B conversion. I reduced the fuselage lenght and removed its characteristic belly to make a genuine dash-B. This particular airframe was the only P-47B received by the Brazilian Air Force. Received as a war weary bird, after a few flights, it was grounded as an instructional airframe. My page does not have https, so you will have to trust me... http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/tmp/T1.jpg http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/tmp/T2.jpg http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/tmp/T3.jpg Hope you like it. Cheers Rato Marczak
  8. Guys, Please, I need some help here. Does anyone know if the M5 High Speed Tractor was used in the PTO. From my meager research, I know that its cousin, the M4 was deployed to the Pacific, but I got no confirmation that the M5 was used there. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers Rato Marczak
  9. Sorry guys, I tried everything. Even html scripts. The photos are in my webpage host, but when I use the 'insert image from URL' it turns pink and nothing happens. Here are two more pics of the finished Dove diorama. http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/finished/dh_dove_72_part2/250.jpg http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/finished/dh_dove_72_part2/251.jpg Hope you like it.
  10. Something that can add a lot of interest and realism to passenger aircraft models: window curtains. Here I show my cheap method for simulating them in 1/72 scale. I used in in my DH Dove from Amodel. I am sure it can be adapted for other airliner scales. I hope it helps you somehow somewhere in some model(s). http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/articles/curtains/ PS: Don't we have a forum section dedicated to tips & techniques, besides this WIP? Cheers
  11. Scott, it could be unlocked to move the ac on the ramp: https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/9/4/3/2061349.jpg?v=v40
  12. Old school: http://www.ratomodeling.com.br/articles/airport_acc1/ Thanks Jackson... I'll figure it out.
  13. Thank you guys. I'm slowly coming back to conventional forums. I'm kinda fed with those other medias. Later I will figure out how to post things here properly. Take care Rato
  14. Colomba finita. I just finished the AModel Dove. I still have to paint the two figures to finish off the diorama, but the airplane is done. This is not an easy kit, if you don't know it. Think of it as an early Pavla kit. Pebby surface, soft details, inconsistent panel lines, but it looks the part. The decals are very fragile and almost don't have any glue. Many small details are missing. I scratchbuilt the basic interior, too. A full report will follow soon on my page. Please, don't show me photos of the Airfix Heron for a while... Cheers (cannot post the pics - don't know why). 15. Thank yoy boys. Glad you liked. The bandolier hanging over the rear gun shield was scratchbuilt using a lead foil. The anti-RPG screen rolled in the front is simply a piece of Tulle fabric painted and rolled. That easy. Take care. Rato
