Well i went to make a start and discovered that the paint i needed had gone off, so i just placed and order so hopefully it should be here tomorrow. I decided to go Xtracrylix 1132 Medium Grey 36251 mainly becuase i have it in the paint collection for the Cockpit. I am going to go metal for the undercarriage bays, Might change that though. I have also decided that it will be the A-6A after this if i get this finished.

I am in need of some advice, I am about to start a Mig-21F-13 for the Vietnam GB. I was to understand that trumpeter got the colour wrong for the cockpit and wheel wells they have it as the Russian blue they used back then. So can someone advise me on the correct colour plz.

I have a Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1/2 in the stash that could use some love.

I am in with a Airfix 1/24 unsure markings yet, should give me enough time to get things together for this.

Need some help, i have spent days on google searching for an answer and i don't have a answer other than both. I got the Airfix 1/48 BoB ready for battle set. Now i want to make a base board for it, but i don't know if i need to grass base or concrete or both together or what I need. Does anyone have any pictures or info on where they refueled/armed the Hurricane at the height of the battle in July 1940 at Biggin Hill.

I am thinking about joining in as it be a chance to get out of the rut i am in of starting and not finishing. I have a few choices: All 1/48 Hobbyboss A-6A Tamiya A-1J Academy F-4B Hasegawa F-8E Trumpter Mig-21F-13 Just cant make my mind up what to do.

I have a Tamiya F4U-1/2 in 48th that i want to start but i hate Tamiya paints and they always gives u spray numbers which is hard to convert. The scheme i chosen is VF-17 which is a 3 paint scheme. Now i looked at the normal places and i am scratching my head as to which paints to buy. Tamiya says AS-8 Navy Blue, AS-19 Intermediate Blue and AS-20 Insignia White. Now i figured the white and i Have the intermediate blue, i am having problems with the top colour. Some says gloss dark blue, others navy blue or gloss dark navy blue.... Can some tell me which paint i need in either, xtracrylics, Mr hobby, Revell aqua or if push comes to it Humbrol. Sorry i went on a bit there, i hope i made sense of what i am asking.

I have only found seats at NeOmega site and of course Eduard PE sets, but looking at my kit apart from belts for the kit seats I really don't think this kit actually needs much in the way of AM.

I would say just get a Resin seat and use the Kit tube as it is not that bad.

As I understand it FAW.9R stands for In Flight Refuelling but how common was it at to see .9R at RAF Tengah in the final days for the Javelin 1967-1968?

Thanks 1903flight that's just what I wanted, I do it in the swap of 67-68 as I have decals for both sqd needed.

I was thinking about doing a diorama, but I am unsure if it realistic. My plan is to do a 60-70's era parked up Javelin and Lightning F.6 parked together and ready to go. Was they ever stationed together? I am not up on 60-70 era RAF planes so I appreciate any help.

Sorry I have another question, interior.. What's a good match with humbrol or xtracrylix? I am talking about the ivory type colour on the upper sides and ceiling/roof

I just got a package of Airfix 1/48 lightning F-2A/F-6 with decals and aires put for £20. Good deal, but I have never used resin and was wondering if anyone can tell how well the pit fits and if there is any tips can be given? Also is there anything I should be a where of with construction?

Thanks guys for the replies I went with Revell paint number 9 as it was a pretty close match to the mixed colour to my eyes.

I am in the middle of a doing a routemaster, but I have a question about the driver cockpit area. According to the instructions everything is meant to be black apart from the floor and roof which has you do it a black/grey mix. Can I just paint it black like the rest?
