Yep me again, I am getting things together for my build after the Air Ambulance for my sister, I am doing a Czech Republic Su-22M4/R on sorting paints out it asks for Humbrol 115 Russian Blue which is discontinued and I have googled and IMPS Stockholm'ed for an answer or alternative but I cant seem to find one. Can anyone help please.

I am hoping this is the right place to ask this. I have a Iraq Su-22 1989 planned but having problems finding the right paints to use. Can anyone tell me the Mr Hobby numbers for the correct colours please?

I have been plugging away at this kit for 2 months now, due to an illness I can't manage long periods of time at the desk, so I do an hour here and a hour there. I not completed a kit in 6 years and this is the most I have got done in ages. This model won't be perfect as my aim is just to finish one rather than the perfect model. Now the kit, I have had a few problems with fit, mainly intake trunking, but I am certain that it is more to my mistakes than the kit it's self. On with the pics.

I bee watching, been thinking about getting a few of these kits.

Academy F-4B undercarriage construction question
Harrier/ViperFan replied to Harrier/ViperFan's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Thanks @Dr Evil what you said is perfect as I tested it thank you.. -
I am sorry if this has been asked before. I am in the making the Academy F-4B 1/48 and i am on the undercarriage and wings part. Is it possible to do this bit without the rear undercarriage legs and do them last? Just that i always end up breaking them if i put them in early like the instructions want me too. So i am hoping that someone out there be able to help me that has done it on how i go about this. It has been a long time since i had the bug and things seem to be going smooth so far and i find my self wanting to build more.

I am after some help. I am doing a F4U-1/2 and i got masks by Montex for the markings, something i have never done and i have to paint the star and bars. The white is easy but the really dark blue for around the star, does anyone know what paint to use for it? I normally use Xtracrylix, Mr Hobby, Humbrol. I hope someone can help me on this.

Stencil decals for 1/48 lightning F.6
Harrier/ViperFan replied to Harrier/ViperFan's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Thanks all, i emailed Barracuda about the decals. I also emailed Airfix, they want £10 for replacement, i think i sit on that, seems alot for replacement. -
I also recommend Tamiya 1/48 especially the F-16's. I also say the Academy F-4B/C/D/J. Hasegawa F-8E and A-7E are good options as well

Hi all, I am in need of some help. Does anyone know if anyone makes data stencils for the 1/48 Airfix Lightning F.6? My kit decals date back to when Humbrol owned Airfix. Well cut long story short they are not useable. I have xtradecal sheet but they need kit stencils. I had thought about contacting Airfix but that requires something I can not do, as I have a phobia of using phones, I kid you not.

anyone know of a good place to get pics of Bf 109E's under maintance in france around july/august 1940. It's for a diorama i have in mind, after watching BoB film. If you remember the shot when the 109s start up they have like camo net above and sand bags with like wooden planks under the plane?
-
I have a question concerning the Ju-87B Stuka. What was the correct RLM colour for the cockpit area dueing the BoB. The instructions I have are for the OLD Airfix paints rather than the Humbrol numbers which are easier to convert.

Need some German kit advice for BoB subjects.
Harrier/ViperFan replied to Harrier/ViperFan's topic in Aircraft WWII
Thanks guys, I think I pick up a Tamiya E-3 as well. I have put the italeri Stuka on my Christmas list as well as few other kits I want. @Roy thanks for the advice I get just the cockpit then with the kit. Is it worth getting brass barrels for the guns or are the kit ones ok? Again thank you all for the help you have given me here on this subject. -
Need some German kit advice for BoB subjects.
Harrier/ViperFan replied to Harrier/ViperFan's topic in Aircraft WWII
Well i picked up the eduard E-4 Profi pack for £16 the Airfix Stuka for £7.99. As for the He 111 i am not sure what to do. I like the idea of a big 111. I am not bothered about bomb bay as it won't be seen, just the parts that will be seen like cockpit, front area.. I am not really a rivet counter if it right mark and looks like the subject i am happy bunny. Only thing i hate about revell, (not there fault it the law in germany) is the decal side, Swastikas. Like I said it's law their. I had thought about getting the 1/32 then getting a load of AM and doing it up fancy like, but not sure yet. -

I am thinking of getting a few german subjects for my BoB collection. But as said before WW2 is not really my thing so i do not actually know whats worth getting and what is worth avoiding. Ok first: BF 109E-3/4 in 1/48 I seen mixed reviews on both the Airfix and Eduard new tools while the Hasegawa hardcore fans say thats the only way. JU 87B in 1/48 I saw the Airfix on King Kit for £7.99 but other than that kit no idea. He 111 in 1/72 and 1/32. Now i saw the revell 1/32 kit cheap which i am really tempted by but otherwise it be 1/72 again i only know of the Airfix new tooled and Revell. Not sure anyone does a 1/48 BF 110 and JU 88 that fits BoB?

What's the best way of doing the WW2 mottling effect if you DON'T have an airbrush?

Harrier/ViperFan replied to Harrier/ViperFan's topic in Vietnam II Group Build
I have been plugging away at it. Due to my depression it's hard to keep focused. Once i have the cockpit finally painted i will post a pictures. On a seperate note the seat comprises of 13 parts.
