  1. I was looking at my Airfix 1/48 P-40B, I fancy doing the pearl Harbour scheme on the prop it says to paint the front grey but the back black is this correct? Compared to other companies they have you paint it black and most made models and decals say black or show black and they only pictures I can find are of the attack and after the attack.
  2. Which kit are you going to use? I just started a Academy F-86F 1/48 I thought I try something I never built ever before or had interest in and maybe my mojo would come back. But since I started building and seeing the shape of this little plane I am falling in love with it. So I be following.
  3. I just picked myself up a Special hobby 1/48 T2 Buckeye Red & White Trainer for £20, fancied something different to my norm. Has anyone done this kit that can give me some pointers and tips and things to look out for?
  4. Typical my other half gets me the Lufthansa A380 and 26 BA decals and Revell release a BA A380.
  5. By the looks of the pictures you guys have provided I can do the bomb bay in the closed position which is fine by me lest dangly bits for the cats to break.
  6. Hey guys/gals, I am back after our nightmare move and now it's time to get the modelling stuff out. Anyway I have the Airfix Victor on the to do list, I don't want to open the bags yet as for some reason when I do I lose stuff from the boxes so I figured I ask. I don't want to do the victor with the Blue Steel and have the regular bomb bay, does the kit have the parts for this in the box? Or am I going to have to get AM parts?
  7. I go with Hase kit if you want to see what you get here is a link
  8. Thanks peeps, in the middle of moving so watch this space..
  9. My other half has got me the revel Lufthansa 1/144 A380 and Twosix A380 BA decals for it. Is it a straight build out of the box for the BA plane? Or am I going to have to do some changes?
  10. Are these kits truly worth the price over the Academy ones?
  11. whose kit is it? eg company.. also looks amazing
  12. So when is it due to take to the air? As it's got to be a real plane not a model.
  13. I was thinking of getting some US Navy planes, I already have a SBD-5 in 1/48. Wondering what is the best 1/48 Avenger?
  14. Ok I have looked at the decals for the 1/32 side we have 300mm, 430mm and 540mm so I am unsure what to do? DSC_0064 by Harrier/ViperFan, on Flickr DSC_0065 by Harrier/ViperFan, on Flickr
  15. Thanks for the tip, not sure if I do another Eduard Spit though, even though it's a really nice kit all that PE driving me nuts, never got on well with PE.
  16. Ok I got on with this and rather enjoying it, the carpet monster got a few parts of the small PE parts that where for the belts which is annoying. 17. Thanks guys, I have a look on the decal sheet and see which one I need and go from there.
  18. I have the Revell 1/32 Ju 88A-1 and got 32002 Luftwaffe/German Swastikas as I know Revell kits do not have them, but I am unsure which one to use on the Ju 88, can anyone advice please?
  19. I noticed that the PE belts have the long bit that goes behind the seat where as the fabric ones don't. I am not sure which way to go now.
  20. Well I figured I do a build post it be slow but I try and keep this updated. The build is for the other half as her late father ran 126 Wing in Maidstone till his death in 2012 his name was Vic Baker. Some might know his name for is knowledge and love of the RCAF based at Staplehurst and Lashenden. So has honour of his memory I thought I build a Spitfire from 412SQD RCAF for his daughter. So the model, I be using Eduard 1/48 Spitfire MK.IXc Late Edition, with EagleCal decals and Eduard Super Fabric Belts. Plane in question, Spitfire Mk.IXc GC-K MK826 W/C George Keefer. Side note is that her dad has got letter written from Mr Keefer. So this model will be personal for her. I hope that I can do this justice as I not completed a model in quiet awhile due to my serve depression, so I am hoping I can do this. I will welcome all comments on model or mistakes as everyone needs to learn as they say. Ok the normal box shot , I will post pics once I finished that cockpit.
  21. I have one more question on this plane. It has D-Day stripes on the lower wings I was under the impression that D-Day stripes was 1944 onwards but the decals have you do them for the Plane dated sept 1943. Would it matter if I left the stripes off? I am still to learn how to do them yet and keefer's plane didn't have standard D-Day stripes.
  22. ok I need to get my eyes tested, I have the late boxing which has everything I need, geez I really need to pay more attention. Sorry for wasting your time guys..
  23. Sorry yes 1/48, as for the kit I recheck but I am sure it is the one with PAT markings on the front cover. I double check the kit I probably missed it all in the kit and thought they was the wrong ones. I get back to you all later.
  24. I am in need of help. I am building a RCAF 412 SQD on request of the other half. She has me doing GC-K MK826 W/C George Keefer 412 SQD Sept 1943. I am using Edaurd Spitfire MKIXc kit, here is the problem, this plane requires: Extended carb air intake Narrow inboard cannon blisters I had a look in the kit and it don't include them or I missed them. Does anyone know if this plane had the normal set up at any stage? Or know where I can the mods from? I really could use all the help anyone can give on this.
