My take on this: as a native Spanish speaker, I am happy I learned English as a second language and not the other way around!

O/T, but here it goes... Both kana alphabets represent the same sounds (syllables), but hiragana (being describes as "feminine" in some place I can't remember) is more "curvy" and graceful and I've seen it used to denote preferred pronunciations of certain kanji; katakana is more angular and used specially to represent foreign words in Japanese, something that recently happened a lot, and won't stop. Globalization and all that. Now, for something really fun... have a look at ateji; those are kanji but used just phonetically, with no meaning in itself, making everything really unintelligible.

Not for me, no. Planning on getting the 1/72 version, but will have to wait for other purchases more relevant to my interests, like Zvezda's new Yak-9D in 1/72.

Hi, Javier. I was talking about Ricarditos due to Pajarito's reference, I have no idea about the Pucará accesories, sorry.

To my knowledge the cowling interior was painted in the same Q1 colour as the exterior, so the carburettor air intake would be in that colour too. Now, the interior of the underside oil cooler intake... I sincerely have no idea, so back to the books.

Better do it fast and get one of the last few on the market. After more than 60 years in production they have been discontinued. Thanks, Bimbo. 😢

Indeed aotake was applied to any inner surface that required anti-corrosion protection; externally, however, Mitsubishi-built aircraft would only show it on the arresting hook shaft body (the hook itself and the pivoting assembly would be black) although it could also be underside colour, depending on which contractor provided it. The interior of the arresting hook well would be underside colour. In brief: for any A6M3, either model 32 or 22, and Pearl Harbour-era A6M2, aotake is not needed at all if one so wishes.

Excellent posts by @Graham Boak and @MDriskill. Regarding this last one, take that into account when painting the wheel wells and covers interiors, folks. No aotake on an A6M3.

Navy Bird is back with a vengeance! I am looking forward to this build, even if it is an aircraft that doesn't do much for me, although I reckon an overall anti-flash white one with low visibility markings sounds kind of fetching (no pressure...). In any case, I am sure I will learn new things to apply someday to some future build. Way, way future...

I knew about the FM-1 conversion in the double box and how fast it disappeared from shelves everywhere (real and virtual ones), that's why I was expecting some sort of comeback. But your suggestion for a FM-1 makes a lot of sense, thank you! Now, what can I do with an FM-2 fuselage and F4F-4 wings...?
