  1. Thanks John , will have a look on line and see what I can find Thanks for comments guys.
  2. Hi guys finished my latest scratch built railgun that completes my collection of German railguns of w w 1 and 2 ,I did not think I would be able to build this gun for lack of info and photos but after trawling the internet i found a great side view that was taken by one of the crew that gave me all the info i needed .This was the first railway gun Germany built in late 1916 it was designed to fire from its bogies on a curved track The barrel was made with various tubes all tapered the wheels were 00 gauge altered to fit 1 72 scale track the only other item not scratched were handrails they came from a Leopold kit. Decided to have the dio a bit different and as i found a photo of the gun as taken by a crewman i altered a figure to do be the photographer and scratched a camera.
  3. Great work been looking for one of these in 1 72 scale for ages is it still being produced.
  4. I don't know how but managed to post before adding photos.

  6. Hi guys I noticed photos in panzerwrecks no 10 of a 88mm gun mounted on a panzer chassis at Pilsen airfield in Czechoslovakia ,I decided to build this using photos in mag, then modeller international had a article on this in 1 35 scale seeing this I decided to base mine on both publications .having built it I decided to have it in a diorama in the last days in Berlin as the Germans were using anything they may have been used?. hope you, like first photos are the scratch built driver compartment and gun mount. the figs are Ceaser .
  7. Thanks, regards tracks as I have built four of my railguns using Hobby Boss 1 72 scale Leopold kit for wheels and tracks I model all my railguns on the same width .
  8. Hi guys railgun now finished, for anyone who did not catch my buildup I have reposted details about model and full size gun. this is a model of the German Theodor Kanone (E). Three of these were built using plans of w w 1 mountings and barrels from pre-dreadnoughts they were built in 1936 and in service 1937 to 1945,two guns were used during the French campaign. I have had a number of guys ask for a rundown of the builds so have included a few photos during build, the barrel is turned in aluminium and the wheels are from oo gauge railway stock ...will be glad to answer any other questions on build, figs are Ceaser.
  9. You are correct about tracks and tyres I never noticed on photos I will get some dust on them now.😃
  10. HI guys got this idea from a photo saw in mag , its not very big 1 72 scale as you can see from the ten pence coin but an enjoyable build. Italian tractor (from G B modelli) pulling a pak gun and took wrong turn somewhere.
  11. Thanks Vaoinas. The wheels and under the bogeys are not seen as I glue them to a permanent base so don't spend a lot of time on them.

  13. This gun carrier was used in july 1917 in france the idea was to be able to carry large guns over rough ground easily, and remains the first self propelled vehicles as it could fire the gun from carrier but was more often dismounted at a firing point. the gun was carried on a sledge at the front and the wheels on the sides of the carrier it could carry a 60 pounder or a 6 inch gun, please forgive me all of you who know all this but thought it needed a little info. For my dio I decided to have the carrier at the firing point with the gun being lowered to the ground with one wheel attached and the other being brought round to gun also carrier being unloaded. Bike kit and figs are from W D models.
