  1. Hello, I want to build the Tamiya Skyraider A1-H. I've been looking on the Hannants site and under their accessories for that kit they have an Eduard part ED48245, which looks very basic. http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ED48245 Under the Tamiya Skyraider A1-J they list the eduard part ED49296 which is only a little more dearer but has more parts. Apart from the structural wing integrity, were there any differences between these two planes and could I use the ED49296 parts on the A1-H? http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ED49296 I think the only difference between the A1-H and the A1-J may be the ejector seat, as the navy didn't want them. The A1-H kit is the navy platform and I want to do a Army colour scheme, you can purchase the ejector seat in resin for the A1-H, but again I'm not too sure what the difference are. I wanted to do the A1-H as there were 600+ made and the A1-J only had 70 examples of which saw service I'm not sure how many. cheers.
  2. I have found Tamiya Acrylics good also, but again. I'm not sure what colours to use. I have revell and Eduard kits. Again for late german planes, I have used Tamiya and find them good for Armour modelling, and good to spray with. With the Vallejo some of the paints were described as RLM clours, with the Tamiya paints only a few are specific to their subject, e.g. Panzer Grey, Field Grey, Olive Drab, so those are specific paints. I'm not sure what measures to mix paints to get the Luftwaffe colours.
  3. Thanks for the info RUhavingfun, I have found some colour pics but not sure how to add them to this post. There is only my media and this didn't give me a browse to option.
  4. I'm after some Vallejo Air colours to suite late war 44-45 Luftwaffe colours, for some of the following aircraft models I have; ME 110 G4 ME 410 B2 ME 190 G 2 & G6 FW 190 A8 I was looking at Vallejo Air colours as I have found that once mixed well these are good paints to spray with. I have found through the Vallejo site some colours but I'm not sure if these where actually used on these aircraft; Vallejo Blue RLM78 Grey RLM84 Green RLM62 Brown RLM26 Yellow RLM05 Grey Violet RLM 75 Some Luftwaffe kits that you can buy have different RLM colours. I'm new to Luftwaffe colour schemes, and these RLM colours are a little confusing as not all paints are marked with them. I'm also not sure what to use for the interior is this just panzer grey or dark grey? regards Mike
  5. Hello, I'm after an inexpensive P47 D kit with D-day Colours for Ground attack not bomber support. There are also two variants Bubble top or RazorBack, I'm not sure which was mainly used for ground attack. I've seen lots of Monogram kits on flea bay but not sure if these come with the D-day black and white stripes. There's a Revell Monogram 1:48 P-47D Thunderbolt Razorback but doesn't come with D-day Colours If any one has had built a P47D for ground attack could you suggest an option for the Western Front/Normandy cheers
  6. Thanks heaps for that info Troy, much appreciated. I think I'll go for a 190 A7, or if I can find a Hasegawa 190 A5/U12 around the £30 mark at a model fair. I would like to eventually do an F variant (ground support/attack) later war with rockets. Thanks for the info on the sites, I have looked at them all and the site with the variants was very helpful as this was information on how it relates to model kits. cheers.
  7. Hello, I'd like to build a Focke Wulf 190 A series and would like to know what is a decent kit to start with for Bomber Attack plane. My limit is £25 as this I mainly do 1:35 armour and want to try 1:48 planes to try out. I've been looking at the Eduard profile packs http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Plastic-kits/Fw-190A-8-R2-1-48-1.html?cur=1 - fitted with 30mm in wing http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Plastic-kits/Fw-190A-9-1-48.html?cur=1 http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Plastic-kits/Fw-190A-7-1-48.html?cur=1 http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Plastic-kits/Fw-190A-8-1-48-1.html?cur=1 Hasegawa Focke Wulf FW190A-5/U12 W/Gun Pack Limited Edition - which is out of my price range I know Eduard do a FW 190 A5 but not sure if that comes with the Gun pods for the U12 variant and whether that would come with decals. all suggestions welcomed.
  8. I would love to build a 1:48 mosquito mk xviii this had the quad 20mm guns removed from a mk vi and had a 6 pounder (57mm) install in its position. There is a video on youtube of these in action and they have terrifying fire power. Im after a conversion for the 6 pounder in resin that would fit on a 1:48 mosquito mk vi fb. I have seen a number of manufacturer do a 1:72 version, but i'd like some more detail. Has anyone done a conversion of this? Did these aircraft take part in d day or have the d-day wing colours i.e. black and white stripes.
