  1. Equally impressed with the C-123 ! Wonder if you could provide or direct me to a tutorial on your application of craft paints to achieve such a fine finish ! Very impressive!
  2. There is an outfit in the States restoring a Yale to its original and it looks to me that their going with a sprayed aluminum interior finish . See for yourself , they're certainly putting a lot of care into the project! http://legendofaces.com/na-64_3456.html
  3. Hello nice progress your making there . If you'll indulge me , I constructed this kit some time back and discovered a error . If you examine the underside of the cockpit tub and the area adjacent to its position inside the fuselage you will notice a lot of detail that will be lost if you install the wing as is . To expose this detail you must remove a portion of the landing gear " roof " . Not all of it , just the area above the " wheel well " itself . At the time of my build I deduced all this logically. Since then I've been able to verify this detail against the newer Academy rendering as well as the older Hasegawa example . While the Hasegawa isn't as detailed as either the Academy or the Revell ,there was at least an attempt at the general shape in this area. Hope this adds to the fun .
  4. Hello , very nice . I'm interested in purchasing a sheet of these beautiful decals . Unfortunately I'm not on Facebook. Can you provide details. How were the images printed . How can the sheets be ordered and what payment methods are excepted . Perhaps this is the wrong place for this discussion but I would beg the administrators indulgence
  5. Sorry for the fowl up So , according to , The De Havilland Canada Story by Fred W. Hotson , CANAV Books , pg 77 ACTON KB 328 NEW GLASGOW KB 162 MOOSE JAW KB 329 SASKATOON. KB 160 VANCOUVER KB 161 Hope that helps
  6. Seems this picture sayes otherwise https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/10550949_10152558744956753_2035914989351023501_n.jpg?oh=dcd74f8fe0f47c4b577137ac0d182750&oe=5618CC78
  7. Sayes here that 161 was " ACTON " http://www.dunrobincastle.com/Nose_Art/WW2Planes/mosquito.htm
  8. I believe that this photo goes a long way to put "respect " in perspective. http://www.vintagewings.ca/Portals/0/Vintage_Stories/News%20Stories%20H/Johnny%20Typhoon/Colton30.jpg Johnny Colton and Oscar Bösch standing beside Oscar’s glider (OB for Oscar Bôsch) in the summer of 1978, at Sherbrooke, Québec. During the war, each of these two fine men would have done everything in their power to kill the other but, after the war, they were able to put aside the war and build a long and lasting friendship. Every 1 January at 0910 hrs, the hour of the Bodenplatte attack on Eindhoven, they would call each other on the telephone. Photo: John Baert Collection This friendship is in no way unique
  9. I think it's a good thing that your modeling is causing you to consider the morality of war . Mission accomplished! Personally after those considerations, I want to know why Mr. Tamiya doesn't bring the same exactitude to his line of paint as he does to his line of plastics ?... AND why doesn't QuickBoost produce the whole kit rather than just fixing other people's errors ??? Just imagine a 1/72 , QuickBoost Mk XIV Spitfire ..... Perfect !
  10. Thanks Irish , most helpful.
  11. Can anybody express an opinion regarding the suitability of the 1/144 Airfix rendering of the Boeing 707 ?
  12. There is nothing to prevent Skippy77 from mixing Vallejo Model Air to his hearts content if he finds that he enjoys how it sprayers and wants to lighten or darken a colour to satisfy his desires . Vallejo mixes as readily as Tamiya or Gunze . There is much to be learnt on this site but , one might keep the original request in mind .
  13. "I was looking at Vallejo Air colours as I have found that once mixed well these are good paints to spray with. I have found through the Vallejo site some colours but I'm not sure if these where actually used on these aircraft;" "Back to the original topic, sort of, I am not very keen on most of the colour matches in the Vallejo Luftwaffe paint set and would take Reserve_22's advice and seek out the Mr Hobby acrylics or mix the Tamiya acrylics. Just my personal opinion of course. If you don't mind using Enamels then I found Xtracolour paints were a good match too, I don't like spraying Xtracrylic paints but would imagine the paint matches are good in that range too."
  14. RLM 81 = 71.043 RLM 82 = 71.022 RLM 83 = 71.011 RLM 84 = 71.103 ????
  15. I'm sure you'll get many caveats but all things considered And to answer your question regarding Vallejo Model Air !! Top side 71.054 for RLM 74 71.128 for RLM 75 And underside. 71.046 for RLM 76 Beyond that, as I suggested , whose standard do you wish to meet ?
