  1. After lots of searching, can anyone help please? Did she carry inboard pylons? If she did, what colour where they? Many thanks
  2. Count me in, just not sure which one to build? I have 1/48 Hasegawa A’s and the AMK D, and Trumpys 1/32 A and D in the stash. So not sure what to build. cheers Si
  3. How’s the build going? Really looking forward to seeing the next update👍 cheers Si
  4. Looking forward to seeing this one finished Werner. Think you’ve really captured the “pink”, what paint did you use? cheers Si
  5. Looking at my stash, and I seem to have assembled various kits, this gives me a good excuse to deplete the stash.... but which one. 1/48 AMK, Tamiya or Hasegawa, or 1/32 Trumpy.... Choices choices I’m in 😉👍👍👍
  6. Here is my submission to the group build. It’s the awful Airfix 1/48 kit, and was a real handful. Here is a link to the build. I’m sorry that I didn’t take more pics as I was building, I must get better... I promise 🤔😉 with the canopy closed. Thanks for stopping by Cheers all Si
  7. Here we go, seats are done, just couldn’t get them right, so these will have to do. and the windscreen wiper done too. and all three raspberry ripple completed back to back👍 Thank you all for your support, during this project. Thank goodness it’s now complete🤯. I will post some photos of the completed model on the gallery. Cheers Si
  8. Keep the faith Werner, the worst is behind you and then you’ll have a fab example of the Bucc. Looking great too 👍👍👍
  9. Awesome, well done doing such a superb job of such a poor kit👍
  10. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement it is very much appreciated. so onwards with a small update. A photo at the last stage of the mammoth job of the canopy😉. I masked the inside and painted it tyre black (Aeromaster acrylic s). Then the outside to first paint white, leave for 3 days then remask for the “tan” colour sealer. Here I’m attaching the pylons and cameras....notice the poetic license has struck again as the pylons are from Coltishall ( I won’t tell if you all keep it a secret 😉🤪😂) Now it’s just the seats and the windscreen wiper. I thing the “towel” rail antenna and the darning needle look alright. Thanks again for stopping by, and I welcome constructive criticism, good or bad. cheers Si
  11. Coming together brilliantly. Modelling the air brakes open is easier than closed, but both ways will look great, just keep the faith, after all it’s the only way to get 1/48 Bucc 👍. Looking forward to the next instalment.
  12. He comes the next instalment... all the decals are from the spares box, and because I couldn’t find stencils for the Bucc in white, I just looked for the right “shape” and lots of poetic licence😉 Flory dark dirt applied and then being removed. top side underneath I then applied a combination of pin washes (AK) then oils. I then fixed that with a Gunze Matt coat and then my love hate medium...pastels. for the vortex and exhaust staining. Then another Matt coat. wheel wells finished, and the massive leak that seams to be synonymous with the Bucc. I have a pic showing it this bad, so couldn’t resist. using some UV glue for the cowling and hud Showing the hud, completed wheels and all the metal areas undercarriage attached sitting on “her” wheels, and front cockpit glass attached. I also did the very prominent wear on the leading edges. I also polished the paintwork to give it a luster. Thank you all for your encouragement it is very appreciated. Now on with the last push to complete this “b1tch” cheers for now Si
  13. I’ll be watching this with great interest, I have all these as well as the NeOmega one and the KH version.... Looking great so far👍
  14. So here we go with another update....this is most definitely a “Muller” build I used masking solution to replicate the wear on the wing...so after a day to make sure it’s totally dry, I masked to spray Tops side underside, happy with the result, and when I weather it will blend in. So...this is when it all started to go wrong. I put the roundel on the nose, and it went all “Indiana Jones” and just melted. The other issue, has been a persistent flow mark under the cockpit that would disappear in primer.... rubbed down, and time to re-touch it all over again. but re-appears....it’s at this point I’m just going to live with it. All red white and blue again...with added ripple😂 So on with the decals, and the issue is the walkways which are black. So after some thought, I used a draughting bow (was my Grandads, which he used to line his EM gauge locos and coaches). Finished result which I will touch up later. Now on with main undercarriage bays and the panel behind the bomb bay. Anyway, thanks for reading my ramblings and any comments are welcome. I can say that if it hadn’t been for this group build, this would have been binned. Cheers Si
  15. Fantastic progress Dave 👍👍
  16. Looking good, let the masking begin😉. Hope you have stock😂🤣😂
  17. So let the adventures in masking begin.... I sprayed white all over Masked all ready for the red I then masked again for the blue, but didn’t photo that, I was more focused on going through reels and reels of tape Now...yet more masking... This shows the bomb bay, masked and pershaded. I also masked the tail and intakes. I’m really impressed with the Hippo tape, it lifts up easily and doesn’t remove paint and leaves No residue. tail painted, fin flash decaled and then given a matt coat, then time to remove yet more masking tape. So, after 4 reels of Tamiya tape, we have a raspberry ripple Bucc. I have some touch up bits to do, and a small bit of filling that I missed on join behind the exhausts. So I’m now leaving it to harden and build something much easier for a day or two so I can crack on with the wheel well and decaling. Here’s a pic of the Revell Mustang cockpit I’ve been working on, I hope you don’t mind the distraction. best £15 I ever spent. Cheers Si
  18. So Here’s a little update.... The airbrakes, just wow🤯🤯🤯. It’s 7 parts in loose formation that vaguely fit, so after test fitting and trimming, and more test fitting (over and over) I got to a point where they kinda went together. Now that was as pairs, then making sure that was slowly working around so they all fitted to each other, again as pairs because there are no way to locate any of them together. So how to get them together...basically I used lots of Tamiya quick set, then when the joint was soft I could manipulate to get a good resemblance of closed brakes....and not destroying the raised details....Now I know why I modelled my Navy Bucc with the brakes open🤔 I then had a go at riveting, but the finish is so fine, it’s at odds with the rest of the kit. It’s at this point I made the decision that I can’t turn a “sows ear Into a silk purse” and can only do the best of my ability with plastic I’m given. so after many hours of sanding, checking and resanding we get here......🤯 so this is what we get after 1200 Mr Surfacer...more work on the sink marks on the nose😔 and the wheel wells look pretty good....thanks “G” @neomega resin. Can’t believe the tool makers panel lines on the nose...bloody awful. Strange because my Navy bird is not this bad...think I may have a poor moulding, anyway enough whinging, think I need to pause and have a crack at the 1/32 Revell P-51D to recover my mojo. Thank you all for your support and kind words...till next time Si
  19. What a wonderful build, and you humor, tenacity and courage is inspirational. I do understand your journey as I had to watch my wife battle the dreaded C. She is in remission and I hope that the chemo does it’s thing, along with the apple “juice” for you. regarding your luthier-ing, what was the strangest request you ever built? cheers Si
  20. Looking good, very good. Are you doing yours with the white nose and camo canopy? Looking forward to the next instalment 👍👍👍
  21. Lovely build, lots of inspiration, can’t wait for the next instalment 👍👍👍
  22. Looking good, looks like you had a much better fitting fuz than mine....keep up the good work👍
  23. ...Her goes So I placed tabs the interlinked (like putting a vacform together) and slowly worked from the leading edge wing root back and forward. The major problem is that the lower half was shorted by 4mm so lots of clamps and fudgery to get it together... So let the filling begin. I use automotive epoxy glaze as it sands beautifully, doesn’t shrink, and if you put a bit more hardener in you can sand almost immediately. So, fill, sand, repeat 🤯 you do have to be quick tho😂 Now, the holes are dealt with plast-card shims. i re-did the tail pipes, I had to shorten them, because they fouled the resin wheel wells, the new exhaust is from the Airfix lightning (don’t panic I have resin replacements😉). I also fitted the prominent “probe thingies” with plastic rod, the do look a little thick....but I’m not redoing them. new compressor faces to replace the bloody awful Airfix rendition. Any way that’s it for now, thanks for looking. Cheers Si
