  1. Something in the names of the magazines gives it away though, surely? Why not have a ship modelling magazine and put those articles in it? Andy
  2. It should be easier in the digital age as you have spell checks, can see it on the screen in front of you and don't have to read it backwards in mirror image!!!!! No excuses, it is just sloppy workmanship. and yes, I am a subscriber to both major UK magazines and have been from the start.
  3. Well said. Does the editor ever read the final copy before sending for printing? I would have thought that personal pride in the publication quality would come into this somewhere, but obviously not. SAMI is just as bad. From what I have seen, European magazines are far better at this kind of thing. Perhaps SAM and SAMI should take note. Whilst having a moan, the standard of the english in SAMI is dreadful too
  4. Hi Alberto, the plastic underneath is bowed and does not give a smooth seam. The strengthening plate helps but it needs filler. This can crack when pressed too hard. fit the Windows at the end after all the painting andy
  5. Hi Alberto, i have made a jasdf one of these. It is a great kit but there are a couple of things to watch out for, namely the joint on the underside of the fuselage by the front wheel needs reinforcement as the plastic is bowed. You will need some filler and the extra strength stops the joint flexing. Also, it is really easy to knock out the bubble Windows, so leave the cabin door off until the end of the build and add the Windows using a bent piece of wire and a small blob of blutack to hold the plastic on the end of the wire. Put glue on the plastic and ease it into place through the door opening. It sounds hard to do but is actually very easy. have fun andy
  6. cracking photos. I went a few years ago and know what you mean. One day i'll get back there Andy
  7. lovely model and well photographed too Andy
  8. You're right Craig, they were at the same place on the same day, so i was rambling. However, i've had another look through my photos and as you can see below, the darker brown seems to be the norm. Perhaps it fades a bit, although knowing the Japanese, i doubt if they let it get to that stage too often. I've haven't got any Cobra pictures, so that will need rectifying ;-) Andy
  9. hi Craig, Is it in sunlight or not? and the same colour in sun My point being, don't get too hung up on it. PYFFO Andy

  11. and it might mean your wallet would have to open :-)
  12. Bet it's a felt tip. Did I win?
  13. Just a thought, but I would do black, then green then tan. Reason being, minimum colour first therefore least masking. Remember the Swedish kv107, I wish I had done it that way
  14. it's coming along Craig. Keep going as you are over the hard bit now. Just some painting :-) Bring your F-104s to the next meeting as we are having a Starfighter Fest ! Andy
  15. Hi Shar2, You're right and i guess if i made another or modified this one, i would rescribe what panels there are to make the crisper, then use a wash to bring them out a bit. I have learnt a lot since this was built. cheers Andy
  16. HI Richard, the tease has gone on long enough, so here is the full plane minus the target. It's the 1/48 Hasegawa kit which builds up okay, but is a little bland with the panel detail Andy
  17. Yes, but never let one beat me. I only do one at a time, so I have to finish no matter how bad!
  18. no problem, any questions regarding Canon, pm me. Always happy to offer help and guidnace regarding camreas as i hate to see people waste money on inappropriate gear Andy
  19. looking good Craig. Keep at it. That plastic looks very hard and shiny, not what i am used to! Andy
  20. hi Bar Side, Is that 1/48? Where did you get the trolley for the CO2 bottles please? Andy
