  1. Loving that mass flypast photo Latinbear. Great photos all round and wonderful memories. I'm looking forward to the next batch Andy
  2. That was the plan! You can still see loads of F-5s as memorials as the Taiwanese never throw anything away Andy
  3. Thanks. Yes, it is one of my favourites too. The storm clouds behind the aircraft made it really stand out, Andy
  4. Super photos Mark. It looks like you had a fun day out Andy
  5. Yes indeed. One of the great reasons to do these trips Andy
  6. Hi Filler South Korea is more security conscious and you have to stand well away from base fences, but my pictures were taken at the ADEX trade show. We did try Suwon air base, found a great spot with some locals, but there was no flying! Taiwan is very similar to Japan in terms of photos but you have to be more aware of security, no major infrastructure in pictures etc Nothing wrong with F-35s. Embrace the future 🙂 Drop me a line to see if we can meet up. Andy
  7. Hi Richard A lot of 'experts' would claim such weathering was too much, but the photos prove them wrong. The CN-235, CH-47, Mirages and F-CK-1s also prove a point Andy
  8. Thanks Mark, All you have to do is sign up! Why not try the modellers aviation tour to Japan with yours truly as the tour leader? Andy
  9. Yes indeed, but I pity the guy who has to mask the red, white and blue T-5 Brave Eagle scheme Andy
  10. Possibly not but I bet you have some crackers Andy
  11. Really? You need to try harder 🙂 At Tainan, my favourite place in Taiwan, you go the the farm area at the southern end of the runway right next to the airfield wall. Anywhere there is awesome. At Hualien, you need the Carrefour end. Stand next to the Guoqiang pumping station. Hope this helps Andy
  12. Yes Craig. The Chinook is a particular favourite Andy It certainly was. I have been to Taiwan before but Korea was very interesting even if it was just an air show. Andy
  13. hi all, Here are some photos of the military aircraft types that we saw on the recent 4Aviation tour to South Korea and Taiwan. I'm sure Latinbear will have his view on matters too 🙂 Andy
  14. That is a very special model Norbert. I really look forward to seeing it at Telford Andy
  15. Thanks guys. I have white and light grey in stock Andy
  16. Thanks guys. It may be boring grey but as an aircraft system, it's impressive and actually a lot harder to make as a model than you realise, mostly because of the detail painting and grey patches all over it. Andy
  17. Hi all, Another one finished in time for Telford, this time the superb 1/48 F-35A Lightning II from Tamiya. It is the only kit i have ever made where i didn't use any filler. The fit of parts and engineering of the moulds is simply amazing. The weapons bay is out of the box, but i replaced the cockpit with that from Reskit, the undercarriage legs and wheels with those from Detail and Wonder and also used their exhaust and FOD covers. All of these items are 3D printed and simply stunning in their detail, especially the seat and one-piece legs. Decals are partly kit and partly TG Decals with paints from MRP. The latter's version of FS36170 with special 'sparkly' lacquer over the top replicates the paint finish of the real aircraft very well indeed to my eye. Hope you like it Andy
  18. Thanks very much for the quick reply, Andy
  19. Hi all, Knowing nothing significant about RAF aircraft modelling, can anyone tell me the correct colours for the cockpit, wheel wells and u/c legs for an RAF Hawk T-1a, circa mid-90s. Thanks Andy
  20. It certainly is Fuji-san. Another trip is running next February. Why not come along? Andy
