  1. It's been a while, but I've managed to finish camouflage. So, the colors are: Mr.Color 128 undersides IJA green Gunze H60 AK Real RC334 Dry grass color Ak Real RC335 Tea color Orange yellow Gunze H24 I sprayed it freehand with H&S Evolution, quite diluted.
  2. I needed some time to find my topic here. Lots of great builds. There has been some progress recently. Canopy transparent part doesn't fit so well, I managed to sand fuselage half to make it less apparent. I can live with it at the end. Next, a layer of black Mr.Surfacer was spayed. I had several more touch ups with white putty and superglue, on some of the joints. Then, I sprayed light gray marbling all over it. According to aviationofjapan.com I opted for grey green, Mr.color 128 for undersides. Meanwhile, I've obtained AK Real Cha Kasshoku and Karekussa Iro browns for the upper cammo. Can't wait to see them.
  3. Just a small update, there has been some progress. Interior was primed and painted Gunze Japan interior green. Fuselage and wings glued together, there will be some sanding required on the joints, but nothing too serious. Looking great without the engine nacelles very sleek. As usual, my daughter drew Pacific map in scale 😀 That's it for now, next step: engines.
  4. Hi everyone, I am excited to join the groupbuild. My entry will be well known kit of Dinah, firstly issued by LS in Arii's boxing. I will try to reproduce the three color upper camouflage which at my opinion give more attraction to this very handsome aircraft design. Got myself into work already, cutting the interior parts along the fuselage halves and adding some structural and details in the office compartment to make it more busy. Done some interior structure with evergreen plastic struts.
  5. Great work, looks very convincing, clean and shiny as it should. Love the colors you used.
  6. Fantastic. I love the improvements, especially on wings and cannon base it really makes a difference.
  7. Great build Adrian, very very fast I like your solutions on rigging and placing struts. Old model brought up to very modern finish.
  8. Thank you, Justin. I haven't notice it, you are right, I will swipe them.
  9. Wow, like it a lot, weathering is astounding. I think you have achieved the goal. This kit is also on my To Build List, so hope I would not have problems with the landing gear. 😀
  10. Great job! I like everything, painting, weathering, something I would like to achieve if I was to make one of this beasts. Especially like how you've blended darker cammo to be so prominent but also to have hue of lighter cammo color. I do not know if it make sense? 😀 I am considering going to Hobby Boss variant, to escape some of construction shortcomings of this kit.
  11. Fantastic build. Such a great weathering, and painting job.
  12. So, here I got is the third kit as underachievement when it comes to GB participation, almost a year ago. I've had a fascination with the Ju88 as a nightfighter ever since I was a kid reading Len Deighton's great book, BOMBER, it's one of my all-time favorites! Deighton went into such detail about Löwenherz's Junkers 88R, so when I stumbled upon Hasegawa's boxing of that specific version, I knew that was the one I had to build. Overall, the Hasegawa Ju88 is decent, but the parts that are supposed to be specific to this version, like the tip of the nose section, cabin fairing, and engine cowlings, just don't quite fit it. You end up needing to do a ton of sanding, adjusting, and re-scribing of details, which is pretty atypical for Hasegawa. I used Gunze paints, and for the wellenmuster camouflage, I went freehand using MRP RLM76. To give it that authentic, battle-worn look, since this machine survived the end of the war I used Mig washes, pigments, and artist oils for weathering. Finally aftermarket Fug220 is a must I used https://www.scalemates.com/kits/schatton-modellbau-7268-nachtjagdantenne-fug-220--1133974 purchased a years ago at Moson show.
  13. This 1/72 resin kit from SBS Model is an excellent kit. It has a high level of detail, including etched parts and white metal landing legs. I don't like transparent part (resin) which is not so clear. While assembly requires a touch of extra care, particularly in the cowling area and upper forward fuselage part, as well as some additional filling and sanding for the vertical stabilizer, the end result is undoubtedly the finest G.50 model available in this scale.
  14. Another one that I didn't finished on time during FW 190 STGB campaign. Not young kit, but it is okay to build. I used aftermarket canopy masks and laser cut vinyl mask for national insignia and Gunze colors.
  15. Fantastic work, very explanatory photos, colors are spot on.
  16. I missed completing this model for The Salty Sea Dog campaign, but I'm thrilled that it's finally finished. The kit itself is fantastic, boasting crisp details and a hassle-free assembly process. I used Gunze paints a joy to spray, although I could have lightened the intermediate blue a bit to make it stand out more prominently. Not much experience with US Navy colors, good to know for future. Weathering and staining is done with artist's oils.
  17. Fantastic, such a neat job on rigging, wood grain effect, decaling and final photo presentation. Great!
  18. Beautiful work, well done with the mask. I imagine it is not easy to align everything and position it straight away.
  19. I was lazy in posting pictures, at one point I was sure I would not finish it on time, but now with extended deadline there is good chance. This kit travelled with me in Spain, Malta and Italy, so this is indeed an international build 😀 Assembly stage more or less okay, engine cover stood proud on port side so slight sanding was needed. I manage to put my thumb signature on starboard wing as well. Beside that, no fuss at all. Black surfacer and flat white marbling: A friend is starting to produce vinyl masks for Ta 152 and I was lucky to get a test sample. Result is great. So far I applied only white crosses on upper wings. Next step is spraying the rest of markings and putting several decals on.
  20. Sorry chaps for radio silence. There has been some work under the hood and thanks to extension I hope I will be able to meet the deadline. Here's what I have been doing so far: Assembly went okay with no major problems. I primed it with Gunze surfacer, I didn't want to go with my standard black surfacer/marbling routine because it would be difficult to paint white undersides. Gunze colors (sorry for off focused pic) And finally gloss clear: Next step is to apply decals, a lot of stencils unfortunately. I hope there will be enough time to finish.
  21. Hello, I am joining in with well known Aoshima kit of Ta-152. Kit seems very nice, fine surface details, delicate panel lines. Have some montex mask but would don bet that they will obey to canopy curves. At least I can use them to cut tamiya tape. This is my third current groupbuild entry. I will give my best keep steady progress but I doubt I will manage to finish it all on due time. This one I started when I was on a business trip, so I brought some basic tools in my hand luggage. So, no scalpels but cutter, tamiya tape, several sanding papers, nail polishing block, few toothpicks and a small tube of humbrol glue only. My goal was to cut off from sprues and clean as much of parts I could, trying not to loose any small bits. Not much of a table light but provided some local beer instead 😀.
  22. Yes, that is correct. Sort of....😀 1. Mr black surfacer as base 2. Marbling with light gray / White will do as well 3. Thin layers of olive drab misted in several passes 4. Olive drab lightened with white and yellow for control surfaces which faded much faster then the rest of aircraft 5. Different light olive drab for distinctive vertical tail section. I failed to achieve this panel to be noticeable enough. 6. Dark green patches
