  1. But this IS Enzo the Magnificent we're talking about you know.Master of the knife and the surgical arts. Plus a tad "tetched in the haid" What could go wrong?
  2. Dontcha just love it when a plan comes together.
  3. But on the flipside, The B-47 was the first massed produced aircraft to be equipped with anti-skid brakes.
  4. The B-36 had a similar brake system to the B-29 and B-17. B.F. Goodrich Tube Expander brakes from what I remember in my research.
  5. That is what one would call a wall o'blades for sure.
  6. Great to hear all is on the upswing Bill. If you're like me, wondering where you were.... Probably over there-----------------> Because all the good stuff is over here<--------------------
  7. Thanks James . I do too. I found an illustration while doing online research. It was very unique. Now is it correct? I have no idea. never saw anything like it before. But it do set it off.
  8. Thanks Dennis. This is my second Thunderbirds subject. I've got the others sitting in the stash waiting for the appropriate opportunity(Forgetting what a pain doing red, white and blue scallops are) I've done most of the Blue Angels, With those I have the Hellcat, Bearcat, , The BeetleBomb and Fat Albert left to complete that set.The Angels I've done I was going to put in the Navy Inspiration Gallery her in a couple of months.
  9. From there the fun of getting the soft metal landing gear to fit without tying the braces into knots. I'll try to get the decals on this evening then tomorrow begin adding all the rest of the little bits and the sticking a fork in this build. At least I hope to. More to come.
  10. All that dried then I masked off for the splinter pattern on the wings and free-handed the tiger stripes on the fuselage. when that dried I started in on the Dark wash highlighting, And applied the props.
  11. Well after getting the underneath re-painted, I did some work on the wheel wells, And started on the exhaust pipes. I painted these with Alclad II Exhaust Manifold.
  12. Time to do an update whist I have the chance. After getting the colour mis-matching corrected and done, I Painted the hubs a light gray and started in on a dark wash to try and bring out some of the detail. The photo doesn't look like I did anything, but it's actually there and did help some. Especia;;y around the moving surfaces. Once all that was dry I added the props and the guns. Then wrangled the landing gear together and pit them in place. I'm not much of a fan of soft metal landing gear. It's pain trying to keep everything in its proper shape. I'll need to go back and do a final straighten up at the end. Then I masked off the leading outer edges and laid down some white, then after that dried chrome yellow. And finally attached the windscreen. This evening I'm going to try and apply the decals, let those dry then add the final small bits that would break off if done earlier. The this build will be in the bag. Finally.
  13. Tamiya 1/48 F-84G Thunderbirds (1953 First Season) My first entry, Tamiya's 1/48 F-84G Thunderbird as it looked during its first 1953 season. OOB with New Metal Foil, MRP, Tamiya, AK interactive, Mig Ammo paints. Thanks for stopping by and having a look. You can find the WIP here:
  14. The final result being... This is my second finished build this year... and it's March. I need to get on the stick and get several more builds finished before they all end and I have a lot of half finished builds on the shelf. This in itself wasn't that bad or hard of a build. I now remember why I hated doing chromed models. I guess it takes doing one every 60 years or so to remind me. Next time, (if there is a next time) I'm stripping all the chrome off before I begin building. Thanks everyone for following along and giving all the comments, compliments and suggestions. They were really appreciated. But stay tuned, I have 3 or is it 4 more to get done before this STGB ends. I'll have the finals up in the gallery shortly.
  15. Not all the decals wanted to stay stuck. After going back and reapplying decals from my spares and in some cases(most) using Kleer as a gluing agent, I finally got all the decals on and got them to stay stuck. And as a final guarantee a few coats of gloss lacquer to seal everything up. Now just a matter attaching the last of the small pieces and sticking a fork in this build. Touched up around the burner, Added the flaps, Gunsight and a better image of the instrument panel, A little dark wash to bring out the gerar well details, Fuel dumps, Speed brake, Landing and Nav lights And lastly the canopy and windscreen. The canopy I masked off for the while framing the once that dried for a few days, I covered that masking up and applied Alclad II Aluminum.
  16. This is coming along rather nicely. Great work so far.
  17. Caracal Models decal set for the NF-104A and Edwards Test drones in 1/48. Hopefully have it by early next week. https://caracalmodels.com/cd48233.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=2024-03-11&utm_campaign=New+decal+releases+from+Caracal+Models Now I can finally finish my Chuck Yeager Aerospace Zipper I've been sitting on for way too many moons.
  18. And you're going to need a bigger table. Beautiful. That's all I can say... Beautiful.
  19. I do believe Martian Is almost giving his boat a "Lesney look" to it. Almost expect it to have a nice little yellow matchbox next to it.I don't think that my fingers would even try to work at that small a scale. Nice Job.
  20. Nothing like the sound of ripping canvas.
  21. Lighting isn't all that hard,What I learned I picked up from some of @bar side's builds. He LOOOOVES to light things up. I've been getting most of my lights from https://evandesigns.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA6KWvBhAREiwAFPZM7nmyibeFS8LyFWi2zuFTEliU4XQf883kLrngFPyudFKw1wF9ljmSrhoCZJwQAvD_BwE although my first try was a complete set from https://www.magicscalemodeling.com/shop/Avro-Lancaster-1-48-Motors-Sound-%26-Lights-set-Taxiway-p233016845 It was for a 1/48 B-1 bomber. I had gotten the set from Magic Scale and forgot I had it when I started the bomber. So I repurposed it for the B-2. Until a voltage capacitor on the circuit board fried.
  22. Thanks Sam. Have fun with a little light reading. It will be a tale to tell your Grand childern.... And mightily bored they'll be.
