  1. I know what you mean about life tripping you up occasionally. I'm n the same boat(airplane?) I'm trying to get myZELL build finished in time myself. YOurs is coming along Great! Keep it up!
  2. Sneakily impressive bar side. This is one for my notes.
  3. Sorry to hear about this Alan.Even though you won't be able to start a project, I hope you'll pop in and give a comment (or two) or suggestion when you're able. May time and life will be more favorable for your builds in the future.
  4. That is a mighty (Whirl)wind, or winds as it were. Nice work.
  5. Here's a banner for anyone in the Fleets In GB that would like a momento.
  6. Ok Attention everyone, one month to go +/_ a day or three. Hope you have your Builds all lined up, brushes trimmed and paint pots stirred. In that spirit I have created a nice logo banner should anyone want to add to their signature. Get ready for a wild ride.
  7. Tell me about it. I stopped counting at 50. I think I have somewhere around 20-25 for the inspiration Gallery. I think may be fixated on Naval Aircraft.
  8. You too Enzo? I can to the same conclusion a couple of weeks ago going through the stash. Depraved minds think alike. I'll add it to the Koster Ventura, Wings 48 Brewster Buccaneer, and Golden wings F3H Demon. IN the midst of everything else going along, getting everything ready for the GB, especially Inspirational Gallery subjects getting cleaned up, repaired and looking proper . A little something for everyone. or so I hope.
  9. I don't know either Pat. but you are most definitely added.! Welcome aboard.!!
  10. MArtian I haven't been able to find any info on the Anchor Storage, but I did find my flight manual reference. I have it in PDF format if it would be of any help to you. Heres a link you may also find interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAQCCKB6p7A
  11. This little gem is coming along rather smartly Martian. An abounding plethora of white plastic sheet and rod. You're giving me all kinds of ideas for an old Combat Models Mariner I have in the stash. Where would I put it you ask? That Sir is a question for another time.
  12. Now I've finally got the trailer the way I want it and can start printing. This will probably take a day or two I still have the M52 Tractor to work on nd make the launch rails. The rails 'll probably build from plastic rod and sheet Mostly so I won't have to deal with warpage. But here's what she looks like in its altogether. Steady as she goes.
  13. I ended up having to put mine on the ceiling with 60lb test fishing line, not enough wall space. Of course now the ceiling looks like a Heathrow stacked traffic jam. I might have enough roof to put the B-47 up there when done.
  14. Great film I used it as a reference when I did my B-36 and still use it on my B-47(that I really now have to get done)
  15. If you have a hardware or paintstore nearby, you can get a rattle can of Gloss Black Lacquer. I had so many problems with Alclads Base paint, either not drying or like what's happened to you, the thinner that the metal is suspended in would craze the base. I don't know if it's available there but I've exceptional success with Krylon Gloss Black Lacquer. Lays down smooth and after a day to cure a rock hard finish.
  16. Almost. I had to order more foil. The other aircraft I've been working on used up my stock. But with luck I should have this up and on the bench with good updates shortly.
  17. I haven't started printing anything yet, except the wheels. But I can show some of the computer construction of the launch trailer. It's not quite done, but the general layout and size are prety much what I'm looking for. I don't have a big enough build plate to do the trailer in one piece. So I've separated the trailer into 3 sections.I added locating pins to keep everything straight and level. There is still a lot of work to do on the trailer, but I should have this part at least wrapped up and ready to print by the week end.
  18. The next step filling in a few gaps along the wing joins and fuselage halves. Even though this is a Revell/Monogram kit The joins are pretty good. FAr better than some of the more expensive kits I've done recently But since this kit does have fine engraves panel lines and what not, a little masking tape to protect as much as I can. Followed by a little bit a filler. Honestly, very little. I can live with that.
  19. Glueing the fuselage halves together and attaching the various panels o, or closing up panels that I normally would be opening. Then of course attaching the wings
  20. Now that the other F-84's are complete,I can begin work on the -84G/ZELL combo.hHis should be too bad and a rarity. I'll e doing the F-84 in a "Wheels Up" mode. It's been a while since I've done an aircraft, prop or Jet, this way. No need to worry about the landing gear or the bays. So on with the show. I'll start profiling with the jet. More accurately the cockpit. The other thing is I don't have to worry about nose weights. The F-84 will be attached to the launching rig.
  21. Can't wait to see it with its metal on. Looking pretty spiffy.
  22. Monogram 1/48 Republic F-84F Thunderstreak Thunderbirds My third entry, Monogram's F-84F Thunderstreak done in The Fabulous Thunderbirds livery. Bare Metal Foil for the fuselage and parts of the wings, Alclad II Aluminum, Hi Shine Aluminum and exhaust Manifold for the rest of the metallics. AK Interactive, Mig-Ammo, and Tamiya for everything else. The The Thunderbirds markings from Warbird Decals. Thanks for stopping by and having a look. You can find the WIP here:
  23. Leaving me with this, Another Thunder Chicken done for the for the collection. Still have the F-100 C and D in the silver to do. Then All the White bodied ones. But those are for another day and another GB. Thanks everyone for following along and giving all the encouragments,a nd suggestions and what not to keep me going. 25 days to go and I still have the ZELL to finiah and maybe one other if I have time to squeeze it in. I'll have the finals up in the Gallery shortly. so until next time, Stay safe, stay healthy, and Model on!
  24. Added the landing gear, Speedbrakes, Hard to tell but the Navigation lights with Tamiya Clear Red and Blue. And finally the canopy.
  25. And now that the decals are dry and all ended up staying where they're supposed to. The Clear coat before and after applying the decals, at least in this instance, did the trick. AFter All dried over night I started adding the last bits starting with the windscreen and back glass. I previously masked those off applied a coat of gloss black the a coat of Alclad II Hi Shine Aluminum.
