โ699 - notice it has exactly the same side codes as XV666 in the kit! That happens all the time squadrons are allocated a batch off numbers or letters so Victor call signs for 846 eg VH VH VJ ..... 845 Yankee call signs but for some reason porky pie ditched the prefix ...normally so...A B C etc. 772 was 20 - 24 and gennerally kept those I guess because in the early SK 772 day they were quite a different cab to Yeovilton cabs ..except 25 ...that changed ...it was an additional aircraft... 820 .....in the teens eg 19....but as there were so many pingers they used to swop a lot must have been 7 or 8 squadrons plus few extra ...

That is indeed excellent...still if you did the QE or PoW it would be easier ...not much in the way of aircraft sadly

"What happens when you land on the wrong aircraft carrier?"
junglierating replied to Slater's topic in Real Aviation
Youve just reminded me thinking about it we had a couple of Chinooks on board the O boat (Ocean) so myself and one other decided to creep out on deck at night with some degreaser ( professionals) and pre cut dayglo fly navy letters to stick on the bottom of the cab .We didnt go as far as edge sealing but the effect was quite impressive as they launched to quite a big crowd the next morning.Still they got home earlier then we did ...longer endurance than a sea ๐ ๐ -

Looks like normal to me .....these delays go on in the UK ...for many many different reasons ...aircraft are very complex to say aircraft of the 50s .

Well dunno about all that but....two CVS (carrier) alongside in Gibraltar...sailor worse for wear...bluffs the QM at the gangway...picks up "a station card" shuffles off to his mess and his pit.Meanwhile ship sails ....sailor wakes up and can't quite put his finger what is wrong ....right mess right pit ....wrong ship ...true story ๐ -
