  1. Definitely too similar. I note on the tinlets there are dates. Did MS4 change later in the war depending on what period in 1943 it changed? Although Jamie's diagram states 'early-mid 1943' so maybe not.. Tom
  2. And a Battleship (well, maybe a pocket one) Tom edit: They were cruisers in their later life I was looking for a pondering/thinking emoji but...gave up! Tom
  3. There's still plenty of space left on those shelves. Get modelling! Tom
  4. It's the same type of MTB as modelled by Airfix in 1/72. First produced around 1944ish I seem to remember. Tom
  5. Jon, I'm not sure the 'D' boats would show that much keel at speed (a la Vosper). From memory I can't recall seeing any pics of them lifting out like the short boats did - Albeit with a big bow wave! From a quick google images search it looks like they were pretty much waterline level at speed (not all the prow down to the keel showing). Tom
  6. Gotta be up on the plane. Maybe passing a moored up HMS Roberts, Laforey or Badsworth (or something)! Tom
  7. May I say sorry to JohnWS. I meant to acknowledge your build by name in my earlier post.
  8. Jon The trunnion height looks too tall to me. I think this is your linked version: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_2pounder_m2.php Just looking at your photos maybe the Mk.XV mount was an unpowered model for the smaller craft. Tom
  9. Black Cat do a 2pdr. https://freetimehobbies.com/1-350-black-cat-models-scale-2-pdr-pom-pom-mk-viii-gun-motorized-single-mount-mk-xvi/ Tom
  10. You found it. Also called a 6pdr 'Mollins' gun. I find this site very useful for any naval weaponry http://www.navweaps.com/ and the gun http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_6pounder_m2a.php The guns in the pulpits either side of the bridge would be .50 cal as fitted to the 1/35 Italeri Vosper MTB 77 kit. Tom edit wrong scale but informative
  11. If it was me I'd say no roof. I'd think about replicating the framework though. Are the scuttles missing from the wheelhouse below and foreward of the bridge (see the last phoyo Dickrd posted)? Tom
  12. SWMBO is taking an interest in my kit. She's calling it... 'Sally'🤔 Tom
  13. I think 'Healthy Respect' would be a better description. Can't see any fear in that boat. Well done. Tom
  14. I've also heard that leaving them in daylight/under UV too long can make the resin brittle. Tom edit: What's the grey beastie by HMS Carte'd'or?
  15. Curious to know why one rotor blade is painted yellow? My WAG is the yellow blade needs to be in a certain position to allow for successful folding of all blades. Am I close? Tom
  16. Crisp, Jumping back to weapon stations for a moment. The Airfix Lynx HMa8 kit comes with Sea Skuas. If the mounts for Sea Skua/Stingray are dimensionally similar I could use the Lynx parts to help scratch mounts for the Sea King. (Or maybe mount 2 Sea Skuas and use the outboard mounts as a basis on the Sea King). TIA Tom
  17. I think I've a couple of queries over colours. Humbrol 103 cream, top of 'sonar missing from colour list. and either 25 Blue for inside lower fuselage sides. or it a misprint and it should be Humbrol 125. I must admit to thinking that the call outs for the interior greys seem a little dark to me. Tom
  18. Looking at that pic on Ark's deck I don't think I'm going to attempt to modify the rotor head! Looks like they're wrapped in shredded paper/cardboard used as packaging in some parcels. Tom
  19. Given that a stingray is 12-13" in diameter would I be far off with 12" for the box section part of the mount? Tom
  20. It's helped immensely ta Crisp. If I can find some pics and measurements I'll try and scratch. I'm sure the AM guys won't be long to do their AM thing if that fails Your Sea King's looking superb. I've had a look on Scalemates and the Flightpath set you mentioned is listed there with it's instructions so I've a starting point! All the best Tom
  21. Received mine in post yesterday. Didn't realise how BIG Sea Kings were! It looks bigger than my Mi24 Hind D. Crisp, f I wanted to make the model as a (maybe another) HAS.5 with weapons what would this entail? I've got a couple of DCs from the Airfix Lynx kit but no way to mount them. Sorry to go a bit OT Tom
  22. Try googling 'Avalon Hill' They did 'Jutland' ,'Wooden Ships and Iron Men' and several others. Tom
  23. I've got glue over some canopy parts. do any manufacturers make a pack of all the necessary materials needed to repair the canopy anyone can recommend? I'd rather not go down the replacement part route as I'm bound to do it again (and it's an Airfix '48 scale lynx canopy). Ta All Tom
