  1. Be interesting to see peoples views on the raised details once they get a kit in there hands.. My Meng F-35A has quite pronounced surface detail but the built up model looks good.
  2. Looks like thier saluting with one wing up.. Looks great, i must get one..
  3. Thought that maybe the case..👍
  4. Does anyone have info on how the Bucanneer carried the WE177. What was more common the long or short versions. Were the aircraft parked with the bomb bay open when sitting QRA in Germany.. Cheers Shaun.
  5. So who's going to be the first to measure/offer up the old kits bulged bomb bay into the new kits opening to check the size to make an RAF aircraft.
  6. Far easier to remove than add them. Kudos to Airfix for only supplying colour schemes to late aircraft with these noise reducing fairings.
  7. Not sure but with a little research a white bottom aircraft would not be that hard to produce..There are early roundels in the kit.
  8. Looks excellent.. So by replacing Sprue E, we will get the RAF verson with the bulged bomb door. Wonder what else maybe on the RAF sprue?. I guess an RAF machine could be built with an open bomb bay from this kit with just a change of decals.
  9. The Airfix stand at RIAT Fairford had a built up and a test shot unpainted 1/48th Buccaneer on the stand. It looks amazing and i'll be getting one, panel lines and detail are very crisp and not overdone...and looks like the fit will be good judging by the unpainted model that was built with the wings folded.. I just need the S.2B now.
  10. Always loved the look of this Helicopter. Only ever saw one in real life.. Nice build and finish.
  11. Looks like the open bay is molded with the Fuselage and you drop in the underfuselarge part to show the bay closed..neat. Question for the experts...Did the battle flight Bucanneers at Llarbruch, park with the bomb bay open to allow access to the We177?
  12. I've not yet had a kitworld sheet thats not had an error..
  13. Thats a pretty old sheet, a little red star would not of been that hard to produce on a modern fresh sheet. Same for the snow schemes..
  14. Not being fussy, but i would of thought the sand and cream scheme with the red star on the nose would of been a more interesting option for a Red Flag jet.
  15. Are the Kitsworld Bucanneer decals stencils any good, they have a few sheets allready on the market.
  16. It does have a lovely sheen to the main colours and now they have been though the low flying areas in Wales there are some great topside and well lit underside photographs on the Web. I would not be that concerned with contrasting sheen, its not that obvous on the real jet.
  17. Are there any plans for any decal makers to produce 1/48th decals for Meng F-35A kit to cover the 495th Lakenheath unit. It was intersting this week to notice these jets lack the light gray RAM strips so will be easier to paint.. Shaun.
  18. I may be able to help, Pm me.. Shaun.
  19. Any plans for any decal makers to print 1/48th 495th decals?. Nice to see these new jets don't have the light gray Ram sealing strips on the spine..
  20. The painted airbrake was released on the Lakenheath facebook page, first last week with errors with the Mig killers serial numbers, then later correct with the correct Fiscal year. I think a full colour squadron badge on the intake and full colour star and bars would add to the scheme..
  21. Nice to see this new release by Airfix. Did the Sand/Stone camo Red Flag aircraft carry the engine bay and overwing walk way markings? Just going though my spare decal stash and spares box to see what i've in stock..Depending how accurate the first 1/48 Airfix Bucanner was, the bulged bomb bay door may be able to fit this kit?
  22. I allways go this route with multi part assembles.
