  1. Jagdtigers were not around for long, only really the last 6 months of the war if I remember correctly? I think there was only about 50 or so numbers in active service. Maybe not enough time to rust:-) amazing machines though with the 128mm gun. I read some where, that an allied tank was destroyed by a Jagdtiger even when sheltered behind a building. The 128mm shell from the JT, passed through the building and knocked out the allied tank. Pretty impressive ballistics, even by today's standards! looking forward to seeing someone's start on a build. I will have to wait till Dec 25th for my one... phil
  2. Has anyone got any more info on this 1/35 AT-AT from Dragon Models? I would be extremely keen to get my hands on what would be an amazing model kit for sure! 70cms in height!!! let me have one:-)
  3. Thanks Tomprobert, That info from HK sounds encouraging! Lets hope we we see some actual updates/test shots in the new year.
  4. I would have thought a December release, tied up with Rogue One just before Christmas would have been the right timing?! momentum and interest is surely key to expensive model kits? well I wait with eager interest to any news on the AT-AT
  5. I guess this thread is starting to speak volumes! No actual updates for over a year. Even from Cees. Real shame, the Lancaster in 1/32 scale with similar detail to the B-17offering would get some real traction in the modelling and aviation enthusiast groups. maybe like the many models recently discussed and rumoured now, perhaps concept only?
  6. Fantastic work Matt! I really like the camo scheme you chose for your KT. Lovely work, particularly nice camo scheme on the L71 barrel. Are you tempted by the 1/16 Jagdtiger? I've got one on order for Christmas. I will be posting a build like the KT. Once I've finished the Bismarck:-) Good job in your KT it was an inspirational build for me. phil
  7. Does anyone have any updates on the expected and highly anticipated 1/32 AT-AT that was announced a long....long....long time ago? Cant seem to find any updates on the Dragon Models website or any forums of late. Is it or do with Licensing rights? Or is the 1/35 AT-AT just a concept that will never be available? Phil
  8. Can anyone shed any light, or recent news from HK on the Lancaster....Telford? i know they have been busy with the B-17F. but would be good to see some progress on the long awaited Lancaster. Phil
  9. Some more progress over the weekend: Smaller PE and sub assemblies, not finished.... The main Ship and all the sub assemblies are dry fit only. But i've got a good idea about the stand and wooden base ill use for the display. Have to say Trumpeter's Bismarck looks very impressive just built up from "Out of the Box" parts. The only addition so far is the main 38cm Barrels. The Injection moulded versions are extremely good alternatives, If the modeller does not want to spend extra on Upgrade sets. No seems and drilled out barrels muzzles on even the 150mm secondary guns too.
  10. Hi Julian, Did you use any AM decks like Mk.1 or Pontos? You build does look good, did you have a build thread? Phil
  11. Yes, It does seem to be taking a while this build, maybe not the best idea i've had after finishing the 1/16 KT. I've only made a few small sub assemblies and the PE is certainly time consuming!
  12. Yes thank you, An F-4 Phantom, Variant matters not. Especially as every version known to anyone will be out shortly...im sure
  13. Wow, Looks good to me, I've been anguishing about buying the Tamiya 1/32 F-4 C/D again for ages now. But this looks like a big step up from the old Tamiya offerings. Not to say the Tamiya versions weren't good. But no intake seems!!!
  14. 1/1700 "Randy Cooper" Star Destroyer "THE POWER OF THE DARK SIDE" Although the mould itself is now $700 not including shipping. With the £ strength your looking close to £1K just to get the resin parts!
  15. Great Work on this huge 1/200 IOWA. Glad the Pontos decks are recommended, as i've bought a set for my 'just started' 1/200 Bismarck Phil
  16. Just started my latest big Project: Trumpeter 1/200 Bismarck, before was the infamous Trumpeter 1/16 KT. I've wanted to build this model as it's a masterpiece in this scale and I've been very inspired by the impressive Bismarck and her history. Lots of people have already done some very nice builds. But here goes..... My first attempt at Naval, as everything before has been AFV, SCi-FI and Aircraft. Dry fit only....fit of parts is fantastic. More to come shortly.............
  17. Yes totally agree with the Bismarck. It's an absolute delight to work on! I've only dry fitted some of the superstructures to get an idea of final shape and size. Trumpeter's accuracy is pretty impressive when it comes to the actual fit. It's amazing how much model manufacturing has come along, considering only 15 years ago it was considered a dying hobby. Now we have single piece moulds 120cms long :-) Just need to get a 1/200 Star Destroyer next Or perhaps just a 1/16 Jagdtiger to go with the KT.
  18. Hi Julian, Thanks for the scans, confirms a lot of info that I was looking for: Gun Breech and recoil mechanism. The Jagdtiger looks good. Although removing the top of the hull after build, could be interesting? Guess the gun could be removed and so could the rear Gun mount/mechanism. Detachable barrel etc. The recoil mechanism could be easily improved to make it similar to the KT. The rest of the detail looks nice, particular the removable roof and hatches. Looks like I've got to get one of these, as I enjoyed the KT so much. Looks like i'll have to wait for Santa's Xmas List.....Not a bad thing as i'm in the middle of a 1/200 Bismarck build! Thanks Julian
  19. Interested to see some details on the 128mm initial build sections on what looks to be pages 50-52. Also the top hatch sections on page 60 & 61. any chances to see thes also? great post on the inbox review! much appreciated Phil
  20. Yes I agree a few minor changes up to page 29. After that all looks new for the JT. the KT is an amazing kit. One of my favourite builds of all time. Looks like this JT will be too. looks like I might have to get one!
  21. Agreed, Just hope its as good as the KT, Which was a masterpiece!!!
  22. Wow, Very interested in what you will get in the box. Any chance of seeing any inbox photos when you get the Jagdtiger? Phil
  23. Hi Magman, I looked at these shots quite a while ago. They look like test runs....hence all the flash on the sprues. Wonderland models have it advertised. but I was wondering if there is any shots of the final release. I don't think it's going to be as good the KT. Which is a concern. I really hope trumpeter haven't cut corners!
  24. Anyone seen any more previews of Trumpeter's 1/16 Jagdtiger? I think it's due out soon?
  25. Hi there guys, If anyone is interested in a new Super King: Building Trumpeter's 1:16th Scale King Tiger book (paperback) then PM me Phil
