  1. Fantastic detail so far. Particularly like the exhausts authentic look! Look forward to the rest of this build.
  2. Superb build of the 72nd Airfix Sterling! I'm simply amazed at your patience but it's paid off in spades. Just looking at the Sterling you can really see the similarities with it's wing plan and that of the Sunderland's. The verticall fin and rudder seem grossly undersized for stability, not to mention yaw control if one of the outboards go!
  3. WOW amazing skills and ideas on the undercarriage! Telescopic, genius! Shame more model kits these days have less and less moving parts Look forward to seeing more progress on this one!!!
  4. Very well done on the Level of Detail! See what you mean regarding the PE detail extras, makes all the difference! Look forward to the progress on this one:-)
  5. Quite an undertaking you've got there! Look forward to seeing the progress.
  6. Now that is amazing! The staining and weathering is excellent. Very high attention to detail and very authentic. The drop tank itself is so life like!!! I'm very impresed with the delicacy in wich you've acheived such a scale finsh on a 1/48th scale version. you must be proud.
  7. Most of the ordnance is complete in assembly. Spent a long time in putting all those helfires together, quite repetitve too. I like to get on with these steps first sometimes, because I always find them a bit of a drag at the end. Especially when the rest of the stages are much more challenging. The pylon fit to the 2 side horizontal racks were quite poor so some sanding was required but not too much. (Photos to follow) There are quite a few moving parts on this Apache: including a 2 axis rotating 20mm cannon Below is a picture of the AIM-9 Sidewinder rack, before and after sanding. The seems can be clearly seen:
  8. Just started this wonderfully large 32nd Apache. This is my first helicopter build for 20 years, so i'm pretty excited about the end result. The age of the tooling can be seen due to some flash remains and prominent seem lines on most of the pieces. No problem, just a bit more labour required. Quite a few large pieces: Nice clear parts too, although i've read else where there are a few fit issues ahead with the canopy!
  9. WOW, this is looking to be the best build of this model yet! How are you going to tackle the famous Engine assembley length issue? Are you going to miss out the oval peice inbetween the engine mounts? I'm extremely interested in how you get on with this Fw-190A! One of my favourite airplanes, think Trumpeter is releasing a 24th of the A6 this year? Great job so far by the way!
  10. Extremely well done on the Seats!!! I think I've seen these 1:18 aircraft models before on the web. I too am very interested in them, especially their F4U Corsair. Big fan of large scale, so i'll watch this with great interest. 2 Questions though: Where did you aquire the F-14, was it in the UK? Also how do all the parts fit together, are there screws, or snap-fit?
  11. Cockpit detail is starting to look very authentic with very high detail. Impresive considering the age of the Revell tooling! Look forward to seeing more progress.
  12. Looks like it goes together well. Gaps under wings and rear wing box don't look too bad, considering the size and complex curves of the pieces. Good Job!
  13. Masking filler joints with tape greatley removes excess filler. Leaves a lot less to sand and then less re-scribing if needed. hope this is of any help? Phil
  14. Stirling looks brilliant IMO. Best rendition i've seen being built!
  15. The fit on those large pieces looks very good, especilly for only 90 mins of work. 747-8 certainly is big, amazing what an extra 10% looks like!
  16. That is the most amazing result i've ever seen for something created purely from scratch! You are clearly very talented indeed, not to mention extremely patient. Not something i'd ever be capable of. 101% impressed
  17. The Radio and the engine gauge/instrument detail is absolutely amazing! Especially good for 1/48th scale. keep up the good work!
  18. Guess the 777s are getting old now (16yrs +) some of them. The new versions as this thread has pointed out, are much more efficient. GE-90-115bs are simply an amzing breakthrough in sheer grunt and econemy the 747s I've been flying have the almost the same Fuel flow / Engine as the New GE90s. Phil
  19. Which engines has you 757 got, are they the RR or the PW versions? Maybe that might narrow down the options? Phil
  20. WOW that's a nice size! Look forward to seeing it complete
  21. That looks like quite an impressive conversion. Well done for the hard work on the 777. I'm guessing that no one makes a 777-300 kit in 1:144 yet? phil
  22. Just 4.5 meters longer between the nose and main gear. translates to waiting a fraction longer than before you initiate the turn. 747 Ground handling and taxying is surprisingly intuitive and doesn't take long to master. The nicest aircraft i've ever flown by a long shot. Although i'm a Boeing person, not Airbus! phil
  23. Looks great so far, I like your painting techniques! Phil
  24. Simply stunning build, the most accurate F-18C i've seen to date! Have you any experience with the Trumpeter 1/32 F-15E? Look forward to your F-14 Build Phil
  25. Very good work on those 744 flaps. Must have taken quite some time to get those to sit right. Leading edge look impresive too! Phil
