  1. Looks like those filled ejector pin marks have too much sink in them. Another go with the filler looks required, too obvious still :shithappens:
  2. Soon to be attaching the nose section......See what the fit is like? Not as bad on the bottom surface as i've seen. Used CA glue to really strengthen the join & leave no gaps. Only other in the process was some slight offset lateral alignment: So some fine sanding required: Engine nozzles, first Alclad 2 Jet Exhaust: Too Dark! My own mix: Next another mix for the bi-metalic finish: more to come in the next few days.
  3. Body halves are together along with the intake ducts inside. Shame really because all the hard work to see the almost seemless ducts, have been mostly hidden Wings and body went together very easily with extra help from the self tappers: Vallejo Putty does wondes for gap filling! Made what historically would have been a large job....very small 2 x 600 Gallon drop tanks were rescribed to bring back the detail on the join: Canopy glue (PVA) is absolutely brilliant for large clear parts, one of the best finds: Undercarriage, Radar & HUD with green edged glass: The radom will be extendable as well as closed. I've used a small amount of PVA in the clip so that when it's shut it remains snugg without drooping! More updates to come.
  4. Exhaust nozzles, the biggest fault with this kit, when it comes to seem lines. How to defeat the internal join which is has always been obvious:-( Think this has done the trick to 90% And sanding away those ejector pin marks on the intake ducts:
  5. Here is the start of an exciting project for me. I really enjoy making Tamiya aircraft, everything goes together without any problems. A real treat after the 32nd scale Revell/Monogram AH-64 Apache! the fit is like a glove, I also like the use of self tapping screws to secure pieces. Cockpit assembley: Should have taken more photos of the interior before it was closed up:-( Few other sub asssemblies on the go:
  6. Rotor Head with some Pastel shading: Slight overkill on the sand effects! So slight pastel reduction required, then time for a light coating of gloss varnish to seal and prepare for the washes. Few minutes after light spraying at 15psi and already the pastels can be still seen:-) Have to say my experince with pastels, although experimental at this point seems to work well and with pleasing results.
  7. Bit of a gap since the last Photos. Main assembly all complete after a lot of sanding and re-scribing. Painted first in Matt OLIVE DRAB: Afterward some pastel shading (my first attempt) getting some sand deposites for the authentic Gulf war look: Cockpit is mostly masked, but more internal shots without masking to come:
  8. Sorry it been sech a long time since the last update! Here goes on the progress: 20mm Tail rotors: Hellfires:
  9. Really does look fantastic so far. How well in your opinion was the overall parts fit? Also noticed in the pictures that all control surfaces are seperate parts. Do the Elevators, rudders, ailerons and flaps have optional positions or are they movable? Looking forward to your progress on this amazing build! Phil
  10. Wow great job, that look pretty impressive in size. very nicely done!
  11. Very nice work with the pre-shading, finsh looks very authentic. This looks to be quite a big model? See what you mean about Vader, looked more like Yoda to begin with.
  12. Very good, especially like the re-entry Burns on the top surface. Well done with that.
  13. WOW amazing work, Lucasarts quality stuff there! Nice LED lighting.
  14. Very very good finish indeed, Shame you couldn't crush one of the sculls under the T800s feet? Lovely metalic finish though.
  15. Do you know where you can get hold of one of these 1/72nd versions?
  16. Looks like the Photobucket pictures have been moved or deleted. Any chance of a repost?
  17. I like what you've done with the repaint! Do all the pieces simply fit together under friction?
  18. I use to fly Kingair B200s and B350s. Great looking aircraft, shame you can't get them in a larger scale because they have very nice lines and would probably only come out better. 4 blades does look an improvement overall. Only B200s had 4 blades as standard though, the older Beech 200s had 3 blades, later Raisbeck kits that gave them 4 blades.
  19. Look forward to seeing this finshed, especially the old AA 747-100.
  20. Looks very good so far, nice job!
  21. Stunning level off detail and very realistic jet staining. I'm very impressed, so Crisp!
  22. Good luck, quite an undertaking you've got there!
