Eduard 1/48 Spitfire VIII "Grey Nurse"
GREG DESTEC replied to Stephen's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I love the Grey Nurse markings. All the sharkmouths appear to be different depending on which aircraft you model. Yours looks great. -
Great job! Camo looks really good on this one. I like the markings too.

VERY nice. The NMF is outstanding.

Ah, thats harsh! Makes me wonder what happened to those guys. Are there any good books out on the subject?

Great build! The dry weather bleached finish looks amazing.

Really nice work.

Looks good! I'm finishing off the Italieri kit, which is a nice easy build too.

Its good to get more detail on the run up to the Dunkirk evac. I've not heard/read that much about it. A lot of people gave their lives to let give the others a chance to escape. Sobering indeed.....

'Memphis Belle' B-17f Revell 1/72 (Pic heavy)

Steady as she goes Ced. I'm confident you'll get there in the end! Having said that it doesn't look like i'll be tackeling the "G" model anytime soon. The Italieri Spitfire is a good kit, and should prove relaxing after this. All the best. Greg -
Get the Airfix kit. Still builds up nice. Thanks for looking Thanks Joe, much appreciated. Greg

Great detail painting Ced. Looks like your getting close to buttoning up the beast.... -

Top drawer! Very nice dio on this tiny tank. Excellent modelling! -
Thanks Eric. I think you're right about the original tooling. My kit was a "re-tooling" reissue c1990's with an additional sprue to make a J20 Swedish version with 4 bladed props. Still a very nice kit to build. Thanks for looking.

Thanks mate, glad you like it.

Cheers Steve. A nice relaxing build. I liked your MkII night fighter.

Looking good. The tamiya zimmeritt looks very subtle. Nice work

Hi and thanks for looking. The Airfix kit looks like a Mosquito to me, and builds up nicely. If you get the current boxing from Airfix it still has the same 3 options you got in the 70's.

Airfix figures (of the old variety) are difficult to paint. I have found that paint adheres (a little) better if you coat them in a thin layer of white glue. I was doing the RAF personel ones for a dio some time ago, and they painted up ok after letting the white glue coat dry, however getting the flash off was a real pain, and they still didn't turn out as well as yours!
