  1. Was excited seeing a V12 Vantage S behind the 914 but realized it was a Roadster (which is not as pretty as the coupe) so it kinda lost its attraction. The Fulvia Sport Zagato, ChromaFlair Tuscan S and that Mercury Silver Alpine A110 GT though... absolutely love them all.
  2. First day after Eid al-Fitr celebration in Indonesia, and this thing is out again A JDM-spec 911 Targa G-body. It is a left hand drive car, though. The owner told me he found this car in Japan and brought it to Indonesia in a rather sorry state, with all the paint works fading, and basically no interior whatsoever. I think it took him about a year to restore it to running condition, before going back again to his workshop for a full repaint early this year. Now it looks as resplendent as it was before with its original Guards Red paint.
  3. I can understand the problem with the RML SWB. I think GTO Engineering did a better job with their upcoming 'Squalo'. I also remember the days when RML ran at Le Mans with that MG EX257 and later on an MG EX265-branded Lola B08/80 LMP2. Looks rather smashing with that white/Union Jack livery.
  4. Yes, there is a continuation of the Bizzarrini 5300 GT called the 5300 GT Corsa Revival. Built in Britain by Ray Mallock, Ltd. (same people responsible for the Chevrolet Lacetti and Cruze WTCC as well as Nissan Juke R and Ferrari 550-based RML Short Wheelbase, a tribute to Ferrari 250 GT SWB), which makes my non-existent inner British kind of proud. GBP1.65million though. I would need to commit fraud and crime against humanity to even be able to pay a deposit for one...
  5. Oh Jesus. That yellow Lancia Fulvia Berlina and Bizzarrini 5300GT. I'd do unholy things to even be able to see one.
  6. Last weekend I (begrudgingly) head back to Jakarta. I kinda don't want to because my salary has not been paid for 4 months but moral obligation forced me to do so. Tried the Kia Stinger GT-Line for the first time, this is the only Stinger in Indonesia. Blows my mind how good this car actually is, I am disappointed people would still prefer expensive BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe over this, when the quality of Stinger is decidedly better than many of modern BMWs and the standard equipment level exceeds any 4-series bar the M4. A Grigio Telesto Huracan STO. That's one way to make grey look shouty and loud. One of my favourite Ferrari of all time: 458 Speciale, here finished in Giallo Modena. That stripe was supposed to be Blu NART on white, but inexplicably the current owner covered it in red. Sunday, and wouldn't you know, another 458 Speciale. I think I have spent my entire year stock of luck for this. This is rather special. One of only 2 964 Carrera RS 3.6 in Indonesia, but this is THE spec that I always wanted. Rubystone Red, bucket seats and silver-painted magnesium alloys. An ex-Hongkong car. Speaking of holy grail, this one takes the cake. Only 50 Murcielago LP650-4 Roadsters were ever made, all finished in Grigio Telesto with Arancio Atlas accent. This was not my first time seeing this Murc, but this was my first time seeing it in the wild.
  7. Can't seem to find one, so consider me joining in. Kinda need a kick to bumpstart my enthusiasm again and a way to escape some bad stuffs so doing a group build could be a solution haha
  8. I just got this Typhoon FGR.4 from Hasegawa recently, looking forward to make RAF Typhoon from 3(F) Squadron. Does this count?
  9. Mk2 Focus did come with 4-door saloon bodystyle. In fact, when Ford Indonesia first entered Focus to our market, it was the saloon first to tackle Corollas and Civics, with hatchback followed later. I think even Mk.3 got saloon version as well
  10. Last week was a disastrous week for me, so as a bit of a therapy I went to do carspotting on Friday Finally met my favourite 911 GT3, the 991.2 GT3 with manual gearbox. This Guards Red GT3 came all the way from Surabaya on the far east side of Java with other sportscars and supercars as part of their West Java trip. So I was excited to take proper photos of it the next day... were I not being hounded and kicked by random security officer because they think people with cameras are nuisance. As a disclaimer, I already have coordination with the owners of these cars and they were very happy to have me and my team covering their event. But this security officer was adamant I was a nuisance, and sadly this is how journalists are treated in Indonesia since Suharto became CIA's puppet in 1960s. Suffice to say I was extremely angry and threw a massive tantrum. Didn't help that later that Saturday my grandpa collapsed and fell unconscious after his blood sugar level shot up to 5 times the maximum acceptable limit. I literally broke down in tears that day and decided to have a break on Sunday, and went to Jakarta instead. This is what awaits me there. A Praga R1. Praga is a Czech brand and R1 was their first car after... 80 years, I presume? This was supposed to be some sort of junior LMP car with carbon safety cell and 2-liter Renault engine at the back. There is a road legal version called R1R but I think this was not it, rather this is a new R1T, the same Praga R1 used in Praga Cup as the support races for BritCar series. A familiar Datsun 240Z. Used to live in Bandung not far from my home but the owner was appointed as commissioner for a national bank so he needs to relocate to Jakarta, and his collections followed suit. This, though, is my favourite for the day. A rather rarely-seen Ferrari F12tdf in Grigio Silverstone Opaco. Indonesia once had 7 F12tdfs, but 4 were either exported or stored somewhere away from prying eyes, and one was burnt crisp onboard a cargo ship. This particular car was once very much hidden for years, but these past 2 years the owner wanted to open up his dealership and his collections to public so he decided it's time to let the F12tdf loose once in a while. Now, I was supposed to do photoshoot with a recently imported Diablo 6.0, but the owner of said Diablo needed to attend a funeral so the plan was unfortunately canned. Still a bit disappointed, but with F12tdf around I did not feel as disappointed as I would have been. At least I had a bit of a therapy after what seemed to be a catastrophic week.
  11. Last Friday I went to Jakarta again for both company profile photo session and coordination meeting... which unfortunately did not end up well in my team's part. So it was overall a rather rancid Friday that left an extremely bitter taste for me in particular. However, the next day my friend brought out his recently recommissioned Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M, and he offered me to jump in for a casual drive. I know money won't buy you happiness, but a short spin around with what is arguably one of Ferrari's best modern analog supercar does make my day that little bit brighter after a night of both cough and thought of ending my own life. That F1 gearbox is just unreal, modern DCT may be just as fast (or slightly faster) but this old-style robotised manual in its final days is just ungodly, it's brutal yet so rapid I was left breathless. And the induction bark is just something else. An Arctic Grey 992 GT3. This is a new colour introduced with Cayenne Turbo GT and Cayman GT4 RS, and I started to take a liking for it, has a lot of blue despite it being a grey. Went to Jakarta's northwest coast the next day for something unexpected, but GT3 RS in Grey Black first Huracan EVO Spyder in Verde Citrea looking positively vibrant This Grigio Hati Huracan STO casually rips through the cobbled road using every single one of its 8750rpm engine revs. New RS6 Avant in Panther Black, but the owner of this car also brought something else... ... Not this FL5 Civic Type R, though. It's the one on the right bottom corner. A unicorn. An Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake in a rather resplendent shade of Lava Red. This is car no. 3 out of 99 Zagato Vanquish Shooting Brakes that was built by Zagato from 2017 to 2019, it formed a quartet of Vanquish Zagato that also includes coupe, typical open-top Volante and a rather unusual Speedster with raked windscreen, no roof and rear buttresses. But of all 4 Zagato Vanquish, the Shooting Brake is the most peculiar for it does not use Vanquish Series II chassis but instead uses Rapide S chassis (which is a lengthened chassis from DB9... and Vanquish Series II). This is very unusual since Rapide is a 4-door car, so both Aston and Zagato must repurpose that chassis for a coupe-ish bodystyle. Whatever it was that they did, they did it very well indeed. It is a stunner, this car. Before going back home to Bandung and to the comfort of my family, I returned to South Jakarta and found this. A Dodge Challenger R/T 'Swinger', one of the 'Last-Call' edition Challengers designed to celebrate the final year of Brampton's beloved pony car. Whilst it received body and suspension of the SRT Hellcat, The Swinger is based from the 'humdrum' SRT Challenger 6.4 Scat Pack. So 480hp instead of 697hp, plus a shaker hood.
  12. I'd say go for Dark Olive Metallic. It matches the boxart to the T and I'm sure your son would love it
  13. There are such paints in Porsche's palette. If you like a lighter ones, go for Oak Green Metallic. Or if you want to be really deep, dark metallic green, Dark Olive Metallic. However, to my trusted sources the 911 Turbo 3.3 from 1985 all the way to its end of life never received such colours. Closest you can get is Moss Green Metallic, which has a slightly bluer tone to it.
  14. So, back in Jakarta last weekend for an event that me and my team was invited to Lovely new FL5 Civic Type R in the unusual blue rather than your normal Championship White or Rallye Red. NA1 NSX also made its appearance, in Indy Yellow. Huracan EVO Spyder in Verde Citrea. Even among the already vibrant list of supercars coming this Huracan EVO still sticks out with its eye-popping colour. New 911 Dakar with 1971 Safari Rally tribute decals. Yes, they are options available from Porsche. A new 812 GTS in Rosso F1-75, the colour used by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr for 2022 F1 season. AND NO SCUDERIA SHIELD! That is really rare to see. 992 Sport Classic, with vintage-style HRE wheels. We'll talk about the one behind it later. Mercedes 600 Grosser with Bel Air behind it. Both these cars are owned by the same 2 chaps who owned the only 2 Alpine A110Rs in Indonesia. Clearly both of them are men of taste. The brand-new Rolls-Royce Spectre. Yes, it is an EV. And yes, I actually think Rolls-Royce should have always been an EV from the get-go Now we're getting into my absolute favourites from the event. A 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 in the launch spec of Grey Black with Guards Red appearance package. A mad-looking TechArt 992 Turbo S GTStreet R Flyweight, one of only 19 ever built. This is no. 1. And yes, that is ALL painted. A Giallo Orion Murcielago LP640 that I once posted before Murcielago LP670-4 SV in Grigio Telesto. I made Aoshima's kit of the Murc SV, and it is directly inspired by this exact car. No. 313 of 350 (even though only 186 were allegedly built), this car used to reside in my hometown. I only managed to meet no. 313 twice before it was sold to Jakarta, and now on its way east to Surabaya. I regret not taking my model kit with me. I always said that Mercedes-AMG SLS Black Series is my favourite Mercedes of all time, that it was the greatest Merc ever made. The standard SLS ran second, and this is the third in my book. The AMG SL65 Black Series. So serious was AMG on making SL Black lightweight, they only use a thin layer of primer and paint, so thin that the carbon weave is visible under strong light. Much like the F40. Also, likes to eat its rear tyres every 20 metres thanks to its gigantic 1000Nm ELECTRONICALLY LIMITED torque. My friend's Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M. Funny that Ferrari never called it 430 Scuderia Spider 16M. This car was based in my hometown but towed back to Jakarta for the event... and the condition was not the best for the time being. At least it actually is driveable. The only Pagani Huayra Roadster in Indonesia, now with a new set of HRE carbon/aluminium alloy wheels. And of course, the star of the show. The only Koenigsegg Regera in Indonesia. This ex-UK unit was sold last year by SuperVettura of Sunningdale, Koenigsegg UK's official dealer. It is so weird to see a 1500hp 250mph hypercar blasting off without the need of changing any gear. I think Christian von Koenigsegg lost all of his hair because his energy is dedicated to his limitless brain, not even his hair had a chance to grow. And yes this belongs to the same dude who owned the Huayra and the TechArt GTStreetR Flyweight. February 2nd was my birthday, and I could not ask for a better birthday present.
  15. Yes, that one. At least the DB10 and Jaguar C-X75 looked good there.
  16. Back in my hometown last weekend, so as always it's Sunday spotting The Liberty Walk-kitted FD3S RX-7, now without any stickers around it. But this is my favourite for the weekend. One of only 150 Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition. As far as the tenuous relation with UK's most famous secret agent goes, DB9 Bond Edition is probably a rather cringe ones from Aston Martin. First, it was meant to celebrate the release of Spectre... where Daniel Craig drove a Vantage-based DB10 (which, by the way, previewed the design of the 2017 Vantage). What's more, Spectre was not really that good (Casino Royale and Skyfall were two of Daniel's best - and arguably my favourites). And this DB9 GT Bond Edition was just a stickers-and-plaques specials. Or rather, stitching-and-plaques specials. All are finished in Spectre Silver, with Obsidian Black leather interior, some different stitchings, 007 Bond Edition logo stitched on the back seat, and 007 Bond Edition plaque on the front fender. However, if we ignore that iffy Bond tie-ups, the DB9 GT itself is a fascinating car, based from Series III DB9 that took the baton from the short-lived Virage and the Series II DB9. GT version adds extra 30hp to bring the power up to 540hp, and suspension tuning is slightly stiffer without sacrificing actual comfort. And just look at it. Aston really did it very, VERY right with their old VH-architecture cars. Series III DB9 and DBS V12 (Casino Royale ones) are two of the best, though the Vantage of 2005-2016 are sexy as all hell too.
  17. Red is not the right shade on F430 or 430 Scuderia. Makes the car look dull. They do wear Blu Tour de France rather well, though. Unfortunately the only non-Rosso Corsa 430 Scuderia I ever saw was in Bianco Avus. Still better than Rosso Corsa.
  18. First (proper) car spotting as I went back to Jakarta last weekend. This is gonna be another picture-heavy post. An 812 Superfast in Grigio Titanio. This is the first time I saw 812 in the wild, it's a gorgeous spec. DBS V12 Carbon Edition, in my opinion one of the best-looking Aston Martin ever made. I'd have this over a DB5. McLaren 570GT, basically a practical version of 570S with weird hatchback rear glass. New 718 GT4 RS in the 'hero spec' of Arctic Grey and full Weissach Package including the magnesium BBS wheels This 991.2 Carrera 4S British Legends Edition was not supposed to be available here in Indonesia. I think this was a UK-only affair? A rather nicely-specced 296 GTB in Azzurro Dino. Road-going 355 Challenge in Blu Le Mans. This is one of only 3 355 Challenge road car in Indonesia. Also Blu Le Mans, this time a 296 GTS. Complemented with silver wheels and dark gold bronze caliper. My favourite generation of Lamborghini Diablo, the 6.0 VT. This Grigio Antares example is one of only 3 Diablo 6.0 VT here, with another one being a rare Special Edition in Oro Elios. I think this is a 356B? I'm not that well-versed in my 356 repository other than the Pre-A, Speedster and the 356C. Another rare gem, a 991.2 Turbo S Exclusive Series in Graphite Blue Metallic. Those are carbon fibre wheels, and this is the only one in Indonesia. There was once another one in the launch colour of Golden Yellow Metallic but it was re-exported. Well this is nice. An original, recently-restored Mazda Cosmo 110S. This has got to be my absolute favourite here. The new Alpine A110R, only just arrived 2 weeks ago. Alpine has no presence in Indonesia so seeing one is an absolute unicorn, yet last Sunday there were two A110Rs on the prowl, both arrived in Indonesia at about around the same time. Especially love those weird carbon wheels with two different designs front and rear.
  19. While all EVO II are black, there are some other converted Cossie 2.5s that was painted silver, so you're not off the mark... somewhat. This one, for example. Note that this is right-hand drive, so definitely not a real EVO
  20. Saw this Liberty Walk-kitted FD3S RX-7 at a 1990s car event in Bandung. This kit was supposed to be inspired by the Porsche 935K3, hence the gigantic glasshouse foglights and squared-off fenders.
  21. Going to Jakarta again for 3 days last weekend, I need to finish some work before year's end (including making new contents, obvs). Last weekend was pretty rad, to say the least. A 488 Pista in Grigio Silverstone. Sadly no satin gold wheels here. When it was first launched in 2020, I thought Ferrari Roma was not my cup of tea. Once I hit my 30s this year I thought "Man that would be a lovely grand tourer". Especially in this stunning shade of Grigio Ingrid, named after Roberto Rossellini's wife, Ingrid Bergman. Why? Back in the 1954 Rossellini commissioned a coachbuilder by the name of Sergio Scaglietti to design something special for Bergman. Thus the 375MM Pininfarina 'Bergman Coupe' was born. Ferrari honoured this by incorporating the 375MM's side scallop to the 612 Scaglietti of 2004, as well as introducing Grigio Ingrid as its launch colour. It's a beautiful light beige-ish grey like Porsche's Geyser Grey Metallic, but with deeper, richer metallic flakes to it that just accentuates the car's line under strong sunlight. Perfect for elegant Ferraris like the Roma. A 993 Turbo in Basalt Black. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of the 964 Turbo behind it. But then again I have seen and photographed said car several times before so... eh. One of currently only 2 964 Carrera RS 3.6 known to exist in Indonesia, this one is in Guards Red. Once it was wrapped in Nardo Grey, but it looks boring. The other one is in my favourite colour for 964, Rubystone Red. A gorgeous 930 Turbo 3.3 in my favourite colour for G-body 911s, Garnet Red Metallic. In person this colour is rich and very metallic, I wish Porsche would reintroduce it as PTS in the future. An NA1 NSX R in your usual spec of Championship White. I don't know what body kit it was fitted with, though. This, however, takes the cake as the craziest car of the day. The only CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet in Indonesia. One of only 80 ever built, and only 6 in right-hand drive. Mad props to the owner for bringing this thing out for a drive, he traded his SLS Black for this. Whilst I'm a big SLS Black fanboy, I'd say he made a very inspired decision to get CLK DTM. Back in South Jakarta, and with this rather spiffing E30 M3. Yes, it's RHD. It was converted into RHD to make life's easier and allowing it to be registered. Then again, the only Lancia Delta Integrale in existence here is still LHD, so what do I know... An MSO Napier Green 765LT. Not quite as sweet-looking as 675LT, but still one of my favourite McLaren. A Huracan STO in Grigio Telesto with Rosso Mars accent package. Much to my surprise there are more STOs here than the old Performante. One of my favourite modern Ferrari, the 458 Speciale in launch spec of Rosso Corsa and Blu NART stripe. Speciales are harder to find now, compared with when it was new. While I'm a Porsche fanboy, if I'm being honest I'd pick the Nismo GT-R SV over the 992 Turbo S. Those are wrap, by the way, not the original BRG paint. 718 Cayman GT4 RS in what I think is the prettiest colour in current 'normal' Porsche colour range, Gentian Blue Metallic. It's very, VERY metallic with deep blue base and plenty of purplish flake to it.
  22. I can immediately hear the opening soundtrack of WORKING! playing in my head. I think I have one in my weeb playlist.
  23. Sunday spot around my town. It wasn't much, but it was fun Been a while since the last time I met this McLaren GT, owned by a GT race driver (did Le Mans twice in a Porsche 991 RSR, if I remembered correctly) One of the more tastefully-modded Aventador. The gold ADV.1 wheels and gold accents I actually kind of like, but the spec of the car itself is top-notch. A tri-coat pearl white paint called Balloon White (no, seriously, Lambo called it Balloon White) with full leather interior in Nero Ade/Terra Emilia (that's a black/earthy brown combo). And it is a very well-used car too since the owner acquired it brand new in 2013. Lucky enough to have ride about 4 years ago, it is one of the most well-sorted Aventador I've tried, smooth and feels like it's carved from a block of granite. Still quite savage though, in terms of engine and gearbox. Something I have not seen for a while, an unmodified, almost basic 991.1 Carrera S. This is from the day when it's still easy to tell 2WD 911s from AWD ones. RWD Carreras have narrow hips and no light strips at the back. Nowadays the 992 Carreras are all the same, be it RWD or AWD. Weird car of the day. Honda's pocket 'supercar'. An S660. This tiny thing have a turbocharged 660cc engine mounted in the middle. VERY expensive here, though. Over GBP60k. Because apparently those who import this thought they should make money twice the original price of the car. An unnecessarily gigantic GMC Yukon Denali. This kind of gargantuan SUVs are considered peculiarities here. Not surprising, our roads are not that big. That red tow truck behind it went home after towing the next car... ... Which is a Porsche 944. I assume this is either a 2.7 or the 944S. Whilst Porsche is a relatively common sight in sportscar world here in Indonesia, 944 and all transaxle Porsches are considered oddities here, since they were introduced before Porsche ever considered entering Indonesian market. Even weirder, there were import bans imposed by the evil wretched murderous dictatorship of Suharto. Said ban was only lifted in 1999, but there were still bans on importing secondhand cars here. However, from what I've gathered said bans are about to be lifted, with secondhand imports being allowed to be used on the whole weekend and after 06:00 p.m. on weekdays. This original Series 1 Range Rover isn't too shabby either. In fact, I think both the 944 and the RR Classic can make a nice 2-car classic garage. I don't want to imagine the bill, or the fact that either will probably prefer to wet themselves every morning instead of... y'know, actually working, but it is nice to imagine owning both.
  24. I've been trying to reduce my weight for a while, so lately I have been rather intensive with my morning jog/walk. And often I saw this 2022 Morgan Plus Six driven around my hometown almost every single day. But I never managed to snap it properly. Got you. I first saw this Plus Six on April this year, I thought it was just going to be driven very rarely on weekends. Turns out the guy actually drive it almost every day to and from his work place, which is something like 26km round-trip. So if we assume he drove it at least 4 times a week, in 6 months he's already at 2500km. Does not sound much but considering many sportscar owners in Indonesia tend to pamper their car, not wanting to go beyond 1000km during the car's lifetime, I wholeheartedly commend this lad.
  25. Could be Lamborghini UK's Huracan EVO RWD press unit...? I know one of them is finished in Bianco Malide (matte pearlescent white with rosy tinge, a GBP12k option) and a GBP21k tricolore stripe.
