  1. Thanks guys, looks like I will have to wait. I have been keeping a watch on evilbay, plenty of Mk3 and 1/72nd but not what I'm looking for. Thanks anyway. Cheers Kev
  2. Hi I would like to build a model of the FV432 in 1/35, BAOR version. The Takom kit 2066 would be ideal but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. The Mk3 Bulldog is available but unsure if I would be able to do the BAOR version using this kit? Do Takom reissue? Or does anyone know of an alternative kit? Cheers Kev
  3. Fantastic job! Excellent paintwork, how did you mask for the wavy line on the fuselage? I am building this at the moment but it is seriously testing the limits of my current ability. I am finding the glass work problematic too, cutting sounds like a great solution. Cheers Kev
  4. Brilliant job! I love the finish you have achieved, I am not a fan of heavy weathering, this looks just right. I nearly bit the bullet and ordered one during Amazon prime day, but I have the 1/24 Mosquito to make first. Perhaps when that is done?
  5. I am building this at the moment so loving the content, thank you. I think this is the video mentioned, very good and can be played in slow motion too. https://youtu.be/OnqY8uCbX1I Cheers Kev
  6. Thanks very much for the replies guys. I have decided it is too much work to convert. My mum used to be a conductress and I still have her badge, the idea was to build and display with it next to the model. I may just build the RM but paint it in the local company colours. Call it a what if Cheers Kev
  7. Hi all Vehicle's are not really my strongpoint, so please forgive my ignorance. Would it be possible to convert the routemaster to the AEC Regent 111? Are there a lot of differences? I can see the grill is different, is there any aftermarket available for the Revell kit? Cheers Kev
  8. Fantastic effort Jim, very impressive! Cheers Kev
  9. Excellent finish, very nice kit to build, lots of options. Cheers Kev
  10. Stunning build Neil, absoloute top notch modelling thouroughly enjoyed the thread and the ingenious ways you have surmounted problems. Fantastic! Cheers Kev
  11. Always in for a Tornado build, is this the Revell IDS? I think it was airframe hours that did the Tornado in the end, we worked them hard.
  12. Thank you for the feedback guys, I have to admit that I was not completly sure about the missiles, I did try dry fitting the pylons a few times but that was the best I came up with. The seam along the top, again I tried, I have used Mr Surfacer, thought I had it ok but it does stand out in the photo. I have finished it now, and am quite pleased with the results so will leave as is, but of course take on all points for my next model. Each one I complete is better than the last and that is what I am aiming for. The most important thing for me is I enjoyed building it. Cheers Kev
  13. Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. Cheers Kev
  14. Finished pics in the RFI section, thanks to all for a very inspirational build subject, will definitly meet the deadline next time! Cheers Kev
  15. This was going to be my first GB entry in the Year that I was born group build. Time ran away with me and I never managed to finish on time, but here it is at last. This is my fourth model since returning to modelling after a gap of thirty odd years. I really enjoyed making this and found the kit a very nice build. It is my first attempt with an airbrush, first all metal finish and first go at using a Flory wash. The kit is straight from the box, added detail to the seat using wire and foil from a wine cap. Thank you to Paul J for the 111 Sqn Decals Lots of lessons learnt and a very enjoyable experience. Cheers Kev
  16. How about 8 1000lber's on twin store carriers?
  17. I found these, they are GR4, but most of them would be usable I think? https://www.fantasyprintshop.co.uk/shop/euro-decals-tornado-gr-4-stencils-ed-32118/ Cheers Kev
  18. Unfortunatley I am not going to get this finished for the deadline. Where does the time go? I have learnt an awful lot from taking part though, my first group build, my first use of an air brush and first all metallic finish. Have just ordered Flory wash to add to it. Thouroughly enjoying the build and will post pics on completion. Thanks for letting me take part. Cheers Kev
  19. Hi all, for my entry I have chosen a Lightning of 111 Sqn at RAF Wattisham in October of 1963. The connection is I served on 111 Sqn at RAF Leuchars in the 1990's and this is what they were flying the year I was born. I have chosen the Airfix F1/F1A kit in 1/48. It is a big box Also going to be a bit bigger than I thought it would be. That's an A3 mat. But not as many pieces as I thought. I intend to build out of the box, apart from the appropriate decals, kindly offered by Paul J, thank you very much mate. Cheers Kev
  20. Hi I have entered the year you were born GB and have been unsuccessfully searching for 111 Sqn decals for a Airfix 1/48 Lightning F1. The kit A09179 has markings for 56 sqn 74 sqn and Lightning training sqn. Willing to swap these for some 111 Sqn decals or purchase outright. I know that Flightpath produced the following set but have not been able to track a set down. RAF Lightning F.3 Decal Sheet 23, 56, 74 & 111 Sqn Flightpath - Nr. 1/48 - 1:48 Any suggestions greatfully received Cheers Kev
  21. brilliant painting job, loving the weathering, something I must learn how to do. Cheers Kev
