  1. I'm pretty excited by the prospect of some modern tooled/cast 1/48 Schneider Trophy racers. I'd be up for the Supermarine S.4 and S.6B and my all time favourite, the Macchi Castoldi M.C.72. I have the Testors S.6B and the Smer M.C.72 but I'd love to buy modern kits of these aircraft.
  2. I'll be following your progress on this one. I enjoyed your work on the Goodbye Okinawa F-4EJ (another favourite aircraft) and I am interested in seeing how this kit falls together.
  3. Very nice work. Congratulations. I am very glad you shared your build with us as I have added this large scale AT-AT to my stash of future Star Wars builds.
  4. Very enjoyable to see this go together, and the final result. Personally, I like the terracotta finish on the droid. The subdued finish fits in with the rest of the ship whereas the typical chromed electric blue or red "head" dome would be a significant contrast to the remainder of the ship.
  5. Thank you for sharing your build with us, I am following your progress with interest. I have wanted a 1/48 scale AT-AT for years and when your post started I discovered a kit that was probably as close as I am ever going to get. A kit is making it's way to me now. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of your progress.
  6. It's shaping up very nicely. The cockpit tub looks very good for what can be achieved in 1/72 scale.
  7. Very nice start. Good photography and good explanations. I am very interested to see how the joint filling turns out. Recently, I've been thinking how to make these figures look more realistic by eliminating the gaps around the articulated joints.
  8. I love the latest addition, he looks like a mechanised motocross rider pulling a stunt.
  9. This aircraft regularly flies past the apartment block that I live in. It's nice to see a beautiful scale rendition of something I see all the time.
  10. I love that it's the Falcon from A New Hope. Got to get one.
  11. Epic, incredible, unique. A build to be immensely proud of. Well done!
  12. Beautiful work. I especially like how you have finished the natural metal surfaces of the tailplanes and the exhausts. Great job.
  13. Very nice work. Testors released a 1/48 S6B and Smer released a 1/48 Macchi Castoldi M.C. 72. As you've noted, these racers were beautiful aircraft. If you decide to pick up the Smer, be prepared for some work, that kit is the flash king and the detail is soft.
  14. This becomes more interesting with each post. Well done thus far, I will be following your progress with interest.
  15. Excellent work. You really understand the tired / worn nature of Lucas' universe. Looking forward to the next couple of builds (TIE Striker, C3PO) as well.
  16. We've seen Pink before in the Star Wars galaxy. Luke, the son of the galaxy's meanest badass Darth Vader, was getting around in a pink X-34 Landspeeder before Kenobi tempted him to take up "the ways of the Force" in the hope that one day Luke would remind Anakin of the heart he once had, sadly only after "agressive negotiations" with a lightsaber. Looking forward to Pink Squadron commencing its bombing run.
  17. If it weren't for either exhaustive masking, or comprehensive lighting, these sci-fi ship builds would be finished very quickly given the limited number of parts to clean up and assemble. Good to hear you're enjoying the masking side of things.
  18. I know a modeller has done a great job when I look at their build and I say to myself "I want to do something like that." And this is one of those occasions. Well done on your progress to date. It's always a pleasure to see a kit that has some rough edges in places, e.g. the rear wings, turned into something smooth and beautiful. Well done.
