  1. That is impressive work getting all that 1/72 resin to work together. Looking forward to seeing this through to its conclusion.
  2. I'm planning on participating. I thought this Group Build would be a good opportunity for me to say g'day. I'll be doing something relatively straightforward: an out-of-the-box 1/72 Hasegawa JASDF F-4EJ Kai.
  3. I'll be following this build with interest. An RAAF F-4E in 1/72 scale is one of my "must do" projects. I've no prior experience with Hasegawa's F-4EJ Kai kit but I now have two to work with and I intend on building the first in the upcoming F-4 Group Build (commencing 25 April 2015). I had a thorough look through the five F-4 references available to me and I am disappointed to report that none had particularly good or complete cockpit details. There was next to nothing concerning the sidewall detail. (Wilson, Phantom, Hornet and Skyhawk in Australian Service; Black, McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom 1958 onwards (all marks) Owners' Workshop Manual; Anthoni & Deboeck, Phantom II A detailed view of the F-4 E/F & RF-4E; Davis, F-4E Phantom II (Walk Around No.45); Kinzey, F-4 Phantom II in detail & scale USN & USMC versions.) In the circumstances, why don't you take a look at the sidewall detail on the Aires cockpit set as inspiration? This review contains good clear images of those parts.
  4. The PE certainly adds some nice detail. It's looking very neat so far, a good start.
  5. I admire your willingness to take on one of these complex Zoukei Mura projects. There's so much to be learned about how these aircraft worked through building one of their kits. As projects of this nature are beyond my willingness, on this occasion I shall be content with being a vicarious modeller and will follow your build with interest.
  6. Thanks for sharing your chipping technique. This thread now gets bookmarked so that when I get around to doing my Slave 1, I've got another excellent reference.
  7. I'm impressed with the effects you have achieved on the wings, it looks realistic.
  8. You're off to a good start. I like this particular aircraft so I will be following your progress. I have an ancient Frog s6b in the stash, for a nostalgia build one day.
  9. Have to agree with Dave, the refurbished one looks terrific. Good luck with a camouflaged version. I'll be following along as this may be another classic worth adding to the stash.
  10. I'm enjoying your progress on this build. The camouflage paint looks excellent. The blu-tack method has given you a very nice separation line. I also like your tip for the canopy as yours fits very well. I've bookmarked this build for when I get around to doing my own 1/72 Airfix Spitfire. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Impressive work! Looking forward to seeing this one come together.
