  1. Looking forward to this Tony, have an early Revell Halifax in the stash but been keen on the mk iii so I'll be keeping an eye on this build
  2. Colin great job, looks fantastic.
  3. Thought I'd enter this as it was ineligible for the Airfix Golden Years GB and it's ashame not to build it. The Aircraft I'd like to depict, sticking with my BBMF theme.
  4. Fuselage together, making steady progress on this one. Once I get the canopies masked paint job shouldn't take to long. Her she is as it stands.
  5. Can't resist coming in with this. I started basics a while ago alongside building my Airfix P-40B at Christmas but it's well below the 25% rule. I have previous with this kit, in ended in it eventually becoming damaged and binned so I'd like to get this one done and added to my other pair of P-40s.
  6. Fighting the temptation to not start a Hasegawa Kittyhawk for this GB
  7. Put my name down got an Eduard Hellcat I need to build
  8. Nice choice Tony, I'm building the same Aircraft except a BBMF bird. I like your idea for a prototype, look forward to seeing how it turns out!
  9. Beard quick question does the AZ Model give you the option of having the wheels up?
  10. You building a Spitfire, this is a first Nice choice I like both schemes, extended wing tips in different.
  11. Yeah I've got an Airfix mk 1 in the cabinet, always liked the later mk's though. Look forward to seeing how it turns out
  12. A small update of what I managed to do this weekend, unfortunately no where near as much as I wanted... Primed the fighters interior ready for paint next weekend. I have decided this GB for me will focus on the Lancaster but as they're a set I will document all 3 for the fun of it. I've had a few ideas floating round my head which could even include replacing the Hurricane and Spitfire with alternative kits such as the Academy Mk iib and AZ Model Mk IX Spit to give me the BBMF line up I want. As I plan to do them all in flight the Heller kit doesn't make this an easy option. Although another idea I've had is the Spit and Hurricane wheels down on a coastal kits base with the Lancaster flying over but we shall see. Back to the Lanc though and some assembly has began, going old school and building within the box lid. Starboard wing was as far as I managed to get this weekend bar cutting out parts and sanding them, needs some gaps filling and sanding. I'll make up the Port wing next and then focus on the turrets and interior.
  13. Finally got some work completed on the Beaufighter... Just need to give the interior a wash and its complete then I can finish fuselage construction, before working on the engines and getting paint down.
  14. How do you like the kit Steve? Thinking about seeing if I can pick one up at Legends this year.
  15. Yeah been trying to find one ratch, no joy anywhere online.
  16. Browsing the web tonight I found this, Thought this set of A/C would quite cool to model, would mean acquiring a Mk V but Kingkit have them cheap and I've sourced all the decals on Hannants Anyone know where I can find stands for 3 ship or 5 ship formations? I only have a two ship airfix one. Will be making a start on the Lanc this weekend.
