  1. Amazing build - the first photo looks like a real Spit. I echo the comments regarding the gear bay doors which need swapping over
  2. Ah, my apologies about the floor - it is indeed brown. It would appear that WR960 has had black matting placed down in the fuselage from aft of the cockpit bulkhead to the exit door. I'm only going by my photos here - Rich is the master
  3. We get the usual traffic into Humberside and Robin Hood, the Reds Arrows, the BBMF's Dak and the occasional BBMF Spitfires and Hurricanes
  4. Generally, the equipment cases and floor are black - the rest of the lower section being brown
  5. Hi Sebastien, great build so far Don't forget that the leading wing spar is not flush with, but passes through the forward radar op 'table' area, it's cover clearing the top of the 'table' by just over half a foot judging by my photos. Barring the aforementioned leading wing spar cover the interior of AEW.2 WR960 is basically the same as WR963 where the main bulk of the interior is concerned. If you are doing yours as WR960, don't forget the cream fuselage interior. Another interesting point to mention is that the outer gear bay door interiors are painted medium sea grey, with the rest of the bay and inner doors being cream. 960 did not go through the re-sparring process, so I have no idea what changes would have been implemented on other AEW.2's after her retirement. Hope this helps, WV908 P.S - I hope you're not planning on fabricating 165 flares for the starboard cabinet aft of the galley!
  6. Hi Alpha Delta 210, thanks It was a bit of a relief moment when the cowling was done Currently making repairs to the tailwheel
  7. I think that may be the case - I seem to recall the prototype lanc had the larger ventral turret
  8. Hi Iain, thanks! A few little areas to mask off and respray on the underside, but I'll hopefully get the leading edges and / or engines painted today. Then all that's left with regards to painting are cowlings, props, upper turret canopy, ball turret and guns
  9. Here we go, not bad for my first sprayed aircraft; Still not sure about the colour of those flaps... ED825/G makes an appearance;
  10. Hi alpine modeller, It's got the small browning ventral turret. I think the B.II may have the mechanized ventral turret
  11. Third coat on - the leading edges of the vertical stabilizers need a little bit of attention. Once done the masking will be removed and I'll temporarily fit the wheels, engines, ect for y'all before she's masked for the black leading edge sections
  12. Hi Gunpowder17, she is to be finished in circa 2011 condition. It's when I first saw her flying at Waddo. Second masking session; The aircraft currently has two top coats and will receive a third and possibly fourth when the weather picks up. It's a tad too windy at present
  13. Some more; Just need to upload the photos from the second masking session
  14. Masking for the olive drab is currently under way - 'filler' photos will be posted before spraying commences
  15. Hi all, I'm mid way through building Airfix's latest offering of the Lancaster B.III special, which will be completed as the 'spare' ED825/G. From photos I can find of this aircraft, she did not have squadron codes. Were the codes removed after the raid, or being the ill - equipped spare, is it possible that she never had them? Thanks all, WV908
  16. Hi Cheshiretaurus, the generic Memphis Belle decals came with the kit, and both sets of nose art had to be outsourced. A short while back I scanned the transfers and printed copies on normal paper - sellotaping them to the aircraft.
  17. Hi Val, Thanks It's been a lovely build
  18. Hi Iain, glad you like it Here's some more No.3 engine checkerboard cowling; Engines during base coat / fettling stage;
  19. Thanks for all the info Vicarage Vee, the more I have to punch into the search bar the better! I'm now drawn considerably to the Mk V glider tug variant and will hopefully be able to obtain singular airframe info with help of the information provided. Many thanks chaps, I'll report back when I find out more
  20. Hi amblypygid, I guess the A5 variant is the glider tug? A search on google brings up this, incorrectly (I presume) listed as MkIII's; http://www.iwmprints.org.uk/image/743023/daventry-b-j-flt-lt-aircrew-and-handley-page-halifax-mk-iii-bombers-of-no-502-squadron-operating-with-raf-coastal-command-at-stornoway-in-the-outer-hebrides-february-1945 Are these definitely A5's? The square tail planes are quite obvious, but would they have mid upper turrets? If these are A5's, it's just finding an appropriate identity to model now, hopefully with D-Day stripes Many thanks chaps for all the info so far
  21. A few more; Interior bits with the first coat of Revell 15 on the inboard starboard cowling; First 'whole' dry fit; Finished interior;
  22. Hi all, having only recently joined Britmodeller, you'll be joining Sally in her final stages. There's plenty of photos of the build to keep y'all happy. I won't bung all of them on in one go Initial fuselage fettling with some temporary parts (including canopy) in place; Early interior shots; Modified nose windows, unique to Sally;
  23. Hi GuidoKM, she builds up into a lovely little aircraft - I especially like how you've made the wing mods to fit the cannon details. I've yet to remove a single part of mine from the sprue
  24. Hi Vicarage Vee, The MkII 58 Sq version is the alternate version for which the kit provides and is quite likely the one i'll now build. I've had very little luck in finding photographs / diagrams of the less common Halifax variants, so would love to have a description or photos of the Special Duties MkII. I presume the MkV + outer four blade props would be the alternate main gear with square tailplanes and mid upper turret? MkV glider tug with D-Day stripes looks like a good option too, would that have four bladed props?
