Most of the WW1 planes was made of canvas... and this means a lot of wrinkles. Especially on subjects as SE5 or DH2s... I would like to accentuate the wrinkle effect on the kit parts... I have heard that someone uses milliput but it is prone to detach from the plastic. Any suggestion? Any particular technique? I think I could "paint" the wrinkles in a way similar to that I use to make plywood patterns, but I'd prefer a lot a tri-dimensional effect...

It was not easy to find on th market a CA Blenheim MkIV, and when I found it, it was not cheap to acquire. Not an easy model to build, had to work a lot on it, especially on the all-clear nose. I just finished it and this was not the best moment for me to build stuff (I have good periods and bad periods for modelling, does this happen to you too, friends?) The final result was far from perfect and I had to add more weathering than usual to conceal flaws (flaws in my job, not in the kit that was very good even if definitely not for beginners). I used custom made decals depicting a speculative Blenheim. I did not find any info on the C-XD, so I just imagined it was like this. One thing that may seem odd is the mounting of a late type chin turret with a late type, Vickers equipped, top turret. Anyway a Blenheim Mk IV could not miss in my collection!

Gosh.. I do not remember the brand of this kit... anyway was excellent, resin parts, photoetched sheet... everything. Built some years ago. It depicts the personal mount of ace Giuseppe Biron (who also created the scarecrow embem of his group).

Polikarpov I-153 Tchaika, 1/48
claudius replied to claudius's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I have read somewhere in the books "Black cross/red Star" (I have the first two volumes but I think that the author did not complete the series - they were great books, man!) that one i-153 (with a very skilled pilot on board) was chased by some Bf-109. They could not shoot it down as the Russian managed with sudden and steep turns to avoid the German bursts every time it was shot at. The German leader, with its ammo almost over, chivalrously waved at the Russian that they were not shooting at him anymore and escorted him a little bit towards the Russian airfield. Something like WW 1... -

I am a IL-2 fan as well!!! -
My family is 50% Russian.. so it is time to post someting from the Great Mother... This tiny one was one of the most manouvrable planes ever built. Able to turn in a dime. So if flown by good hands it was not so easy to shoot down by BF-109s. The kit, extremely hard to find now (not to be confused with the I-152) was from Classic Airframes.

They were the times of the Swinging London... the Fab Four played all around, George Best ran and dribbled, miniskirts everywhere... and on the HMS Victorious deck the Sea Vixen stood proudly. Excuse my horrible "verses".... Sea Vixen 1/48 from Airfix, A kit that all of you, British friends, know very well. I found it a real pleasure to built. Even the decals (and those red lines on the fuselage worried me a lot because of potential silvering) were perfect. I love this beast.. so asymmetrical, so odd looking yet powerful... So British! With the engines intakes embedded into the wings leading edges... The "coal hole" where that poor navigator had to dwell....

Perfect job! Vlad! Very neat, clean and flawless! Interesting camo pattern you perfectly reproduced. It was not an easy subject, but you won the challenge. To put only one torpedo was the right thing to do! -
What the heck????? Do not tell me that they are models!!!! How could you have this STUNNING effect?????

Thank you guys, you are flattering me!
