  1. Following some feedback in regards the overall composition of the piece I've altered a couple of things to balance it out, this is now the finished article. Thanks for looking Sean
  2. Milicast or Dan Taylor offer the best Commonwealth figures that aren't all "actiony", they're 1/76 effectively but whats 0.5 of a millimetre at 3 foot viewing distance 😉
  3. Finally finished up the base for these today...... Enjoy!!...... Thanks for looking Sean
  4. With the finishing up of the dish its now on to the rest of the set...... The Transmitter, the Receiver and the Generator trucks. Here I have finished the prep work on the 3 chassis ready for their bodies to be made. (I'm also still trying to find a good universal scale that's not to physically big, as I had complaints an age ago about using a penny as not everyone knows/uses the queens currency, a scale rule is difficult to see in photographs, and not everyone knows how big 1/72 scale is by just saying it in a post...... So, I figure a lighter must be fairly common world wide!?) Thanks for looking Sean
  5. Here is my now complete Type 15 Radar dish on Austin K6 chassis, 100% scratch build. Soon to be part of a larger dio depicting the whole Radar set and directly associated vehicles from 83 Group GCC in NWE '44. Thanks for looking Sean
  6. Yarp, the K6 kit I used to sell was 15+ parts in total on 5 or more sprue blocks, very detailed including full engine, carb and manifolds, separate bonnet, interior and cab..... took an age to assemble. Now I don't sell kits anymore, its just for me and working on the "3 foot rule" made this one piece kit, takes me about 10 minutes to make and then I'm on to building its back body 😉
  7. Type 15 Radar dish on Austin K6 is now finished...... And here are the new Austin K6 quick pour 1 piece kits I've designed to speed up the process of making the K6 variants..... These 3 will be made into the Transmitter, Receiver and Generator trucks. Thanks for Looking Sean
  8. Yes mate, I have reference from a veteran who served at ports along the South coast that they used the K6 with ballast and Matador 0854 Tankers, the 6x6 type, half full of fuel as tugs. With the knowledge my Landrover 109" 1 Ton was factory rated to tow 12 tons on a braked trailer I'm sure it could be done, and back then 'needs must' was very much the order of the day and as the K6 and Matador 0854 were the heaviest trucks that the RAF operated at the time it makes sense. I can imagine several jury-rigged 6x4s and 6x6s all strapped together to tow out really heavy stuff, not sure they would have been that good on wet and/or steep concrete though
  9. Hi all, My "self critique" photos taken to see issues on a job I'd normally call done until I learned this process, anything I now find I will go back and fix, then "Call it done!" I also do a Monochrome photo, but at a much higher resolution, so can't post it here, to make sure my contrast is ok Dad's up next..... ATB Sean
  10. For my sins 😉..... Believe it or not this, many, many, moons ago, is what I used to get paid for..... I was heavily into table top gaming and used to work for, at the time, the countries largest independant Games Workshop store and arts supply store, part of my job was to teach kids to play and paint all the store figures/Army's. I've only started dabbling back in it due to my spine issues as I paint in a different position to building, more upright and at face level, elbows on bench, so its something I can still do when my back is restricting me from anything else. I'm presuming to assume the 'Stamford Bridge' reference is something to do with Football??..... A quick glance at my country of residence should indicate the shape of ball I follow 😉😆 Sean
  11. Brian Wordpress.com....... Seans Military Models, Now renamed Sean's Models and Other Doings to encapsulate my figure painting Linkidylink........ https://wordpress.com/view/seansmilitaryvehicles.wordpress.com (Mods, if this is not allowed please delete and I PM Brian directly) ATB Sean
  12. Thanks mate, I believe they are supposed to 75mm, as dad is at least that to his eyes, mum is near 55mm and little'un is about hero scale 28mm so you have an idea ATB Sean
  13. Thanks Steve, One thing you should be aware of with the Roden kit is its good apart from the rear stores boxes, they are grade A poop, a really weird folding design that has loads of gaps on the visible ends, I ended up scratch building my 2 along with the water carrier and box on the front running boards. ATB Sean
  14. Hi all, I've recently been working on these...... A Barbarian Family Thanks for looking ATB Sean
  15. Hi all, Poured the 3 K6 chassis' I'll need to build the Transmitter, Receiver and Geny trucks this weekend, now though I need to get on with the figures I'm in the middle of painting now though for fear of getting distracted and not getting them done (Pics in the appropriate section if anyone cares). These are a fast build, single pour kit that I've been working on so I'm not constantly just building up multi part chassis kits, ( the kits for the K6 I used to sell used to be 18 parts with a full engine, looked awesome but took for ever to build) , and I can then get on with the fun bit faster 😉 As always, more to follow ATB Sean
  16. Hi Steve Both the Rolls and the Boat (in the Maritime section) have more photos up if you want a shufty 😉 ATB Sean
  17. Hi all, I finished this early last year, my first and probably last torpedo bait as I only built it to fill in my non-wingy thing RAF mass project for completeness. Austin K6 tug and land trailer are fully scratch built, the Launch is just a detailed up Airfix kit. Thanks for looking ATB Sean
  18. Hi all, I really cant remember if I've posted this one here so you're having it again...... Roden 1/72 truck with Zvezda figures, a bit of scratch work. Thanks for looking ATB Sean
  19. Hi all, I was asked for some pics of my Rolls Royce is RAF Armoured Car Company Service, so here they are....... This has been doing the show circuit for the past couple of years and is starting to show its age. Thanks for looking Sean
  20. Sure..... Raphael 8404 size 1 brush and W&N FW Paynes grey Ink. Dots, dabs and slashes in random places, concentrating around handles, and edges that are used regularly, only occasional marks to large panels as this would only be subject to a small amount of contact by brush and bushes etc, Keep in mind scale as at 1/72 scale a 0.5 mill dot would be about 75 to 100mm in real life, but only around 50mm at 1/48 Sean
  21. Always an important consideration to any task 😉 I've made a special ball pivot holder that clips to my shelf supports at the back of my hobby desk, holds my figures and models at about neck height so my back is straight, I also sit on a tattooists saddle stool which also helps keep me up straight. As my problem is around the 3T area of my back, just between my shoulder blades and base of neck, the more I can do to make my work stay in front of my face the better. I'm also developing hereditary arthritis in my fingers of both hands, plus a trapped nerve in my left arm that makes my left hand go numb...... whom ever said "Age never comes alone!" was not lying, it appears 35 years in the Building trade has had detrimental effects on my well being, that's one thing they don't warn you of when you start 🙄 Sean.
  22. Hi all, My current WIP in amongst my figure painting is this..... Austin K6 Type15 RADAR dish, this will eventually end up on a base with the 2 Austin K6 Receiver and Transmitter trucks, plus another K6 with 50Kv Generator set to power it all. For now just the dish is on the go..... Thanks for looking and as ever more to follow when it happens..... ATB Sean
