  1. Well finally found out what's been wrong with me, as of late I've feeling constantly exhausted, no motivation etc etc, I found out on Thursday past that I'm Type 2 Diabetic. After a couple of days of really high blood sugar levels, they've come back down to normal levels. As such today I managed to crack on with the copter. I managed to do the main two sections of the fuselage and attach them together which was a pain. The two halfs completed prior to fixing to the main cabin section. And the result still got absolutely loads to do, you can see here the engine section which I completed and attached.
  2. Looking forward to watching this build. I just bought the kit, I'm going down the Etihad route. I've just bought the decals from DrawDecal. I'm gonna use the RAL paint colour, overlaid with a clear pearl, so hopefully the colour will be close enough
  3. We'll eventually plucked up the motivation to do a bit more on this, that's the cockpit more or less finished. I changed the colour of the instrument cowl as it should be black and not as instructed in the Revell instructions. I hope you like it.
  4. Now got most of the forward cockpit finished, just a few bits to add, just started to assemble the rear parts ready for paint.
  5. Next up I built up the top pod part for the cockpit (my understanding of the various parts is limited so bear with me). Again I gave the top a light sand wash. Noticed that grey looks rather creamy, but trust me they are grey.
  6. The cockpit so far, now I know it may not be completely accurate when it comes to the colour but hopefully it's close enough. I've given it a light sand wash on various places.
  7. This is one of Christmas presents from she who must be obeyed, but this time she did the obeying and bought me this. (Thankfully she's doesn't come on this site so won't read this). I thought it would a nice change from the airliners that I've done of late. It's a Revell Eurocopter EC135 ADAC 1/32. I'm hopefully going for the dirty just come back from a job look. This will be the first time I've used washes so again hopefully it will turn out ok. The kit Loads of pieces It's rather large
  8. I'm waiting until more decals to come out for it before it gets built
  9. My son got a nice haul of aircraft from Santa, he got all of them other than the yellow ADAC Eurocopter which I got. Anyway the next build will be a father and son build of the Mosquito as it's the first ever plane I built as a kid (a long long time ago). Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and I hope Santa has been kind. All the best David
  10. Again cheers for the comments guys and hope you've all had a good Christmas.
  11. The decals came with the kit, as mentioed they were very brittle, the cockpit ones just disintegrated when I tried to apply them, however they looked ridiculously small and didn't fit in the gap left by the blue stripe in either side. I had cockpit decals left over from a Revell A319 kit and although I agree not 100% right looking they are much better looking than the ones that came with the kit, and fitted much better. The engine fans were painted as well.
  12. Looking into doing this an old Ryanair retro scheme for the Boeing 737-200. I used to see this plane landing at Prestwick, Scotland many years ago Unfortunately it ended its days at Prestwick where it was eventually broken up, here it is minus the engines.
  13. These are the only 2 retros I've done, I'm looking into doing some more
  14. Just finished this one, it was quite an easy build other than the decals which were very brittle and a pain to fit especially round the nose section. Anyway hope you like it. David
  15. Cheers Mike, hopefully the aftermarket decals are in a better condition than the ones I had with this kit, which just broke up constantly
  16. Admin I put this in the wrong section can you delete it
  17. Once again as I finished it off I didn't take too many photos, but it's now finished. Here it is hope you all like it.
  18. Well over the last couple of days just got battered into it. The next major part were the engines, for an older kit they fitted together quite well and only required a wee bit of filler. Once the filler was sanded smooth on with the silver. Then the light grey I then painted up the various other parts, applied the decals, then gave it a coat of varnish and that's them finished. I then attached them to the plane.
  19. Cheers Jeff, I'm currently off work long term after a bad knee injury, that's why I've got the time. I try and fit them in when I'm not spaced out on painkillers. This is the only build I've doing at the moment and before Xmas, after that I'll have a few more to build.
  20. That's the main fuselage finished and glossed, now on with the engines. Here's a sneak pic of the fuselage all finished
  21. Cheers, I never knew about that stuff, I will need to get some of it.
  22. Well I've came to the conclusion old decals really do suck big style. The front windshield decal fragmented into so many tiny pieces that were well non-recoverable. The decal also looked quite small compared to the cabin decals from Revell for the A319 considering they are both 1/144 scale. I'll try again tomorrow with ones from my A319 kits. Any I've got the main stripes down each side, which again broke up, but I wouldn't have put them on in one go anyway so they worked out ok. Here's a sneak preview of one of the sides. Hope you all like it. Cheers.
