Tamiya Yamaha YZF R1, my first bike model....

Cheers I'll pop into the local Halfords, as with the Tamiya clear it has slightly eaten into decals in the past. -

Roy cheers, I've never thought about doing a pencil rubbing, you've just answered a question I had for the Ducati build in just about to do. I've always been a rattle can man, until quite recently where I'm an airbrush convert. Although for the clear coat on my next build I'll be rattle caning that with Tamiya TS13 clear coat. -

I've spent enough time on the paint, decals and front forks for the Panigale, the rest will have to make do at the moment. I might also get some more Zero Paints, I'm interested in quite a lot of their paint, as I've never used Zero Paints before, what do you use as a clear for it. I'm also just seen 2014 & 2015 decals for the Rossi Yamaha. -

Cheers Steve the vision I had in my mind just didn't turn out the way I wanted by using the Tamiya paint. I will definately be getting some Alclad paint in the future, I'm using their Aqua gloss which I like. I'm actually think of at some point in the future I'll strip it down and repaint the frame, but not at the moment.. -

Mark thanks very much, I would love a real bike, but I wouldn't last long lol. Yeh I painted the frame several months again, and it's the one thing I'm not at all happy with, I've looked at the Alclad products, which I think are way more accurate than the Tamiya products in this respect, I'm planning to order some of their stuff come pay day. I never knew that about the masking tape and I'll certainly do your method from now on, as its a bugger when you pull the tape off only to find a bleed arghhh. I'll also look online for the smaller tubing, what would you suggest instead of the 1.2mm pipes. Yeh I've got the Senna paint from Zero Paints, I ordered it from Hiroboy, where looking at things you could go to town on the aftermarket stuff. This is exactly the point I was trying to make across on the Chat forum, I had no idea how to get rid of a bleed, or how I could achieve a better effect on the frame, now I know. The BMW is a nice car, I've driven loads of them at work, don't know if you've done it or not, but have a go at an Xdrive version, amazing handling and grip, far better than Audi's Quattro system, the Xdrive I found still to be biased towards the rear, where the Audis still under steer into oblivion lol. After being a VW man all my days, I've given up on them and I'm now a Toyota man, yep I know..... Cheers Steve, glad you like it, might do a Suzuki soon lol. -
Lovely build and colour, I wish other makes ie Tamiya with their bikes could make brake discs like that.

I've never seen this kit before. I used normal cheap household bleach to take that fake/nasty/horrible etc etc chrome off. 5 mins and it was off (on a Tamiya bike). Looking good thought. -

Cheers Simon, as you can see when I use words like canopy I'm still stuck in aircraft building. -

I then went on to building together the handle bars and piping Next was the front canopy area, being a non biker I haven't the foggiest what it's called. Anyway here it is in all its glory -

I then built up and painted the tiny fuel cap, a feat in itself which like too many will go unnoticed...... -

Cheers guys for the multitude of comments, liking and encouraging me on with this build.........I really must do a "mega buck" Poacher build sometime........ Anyway on with my lonesome build that's the tank seat area built, painted and slapped into place. -
As the heading says can you spray clear canopies with Alclad2 ALC600 Aqua Gloss. I use this for all my gloss clear at the moment, and have been impressed with it. I would dip them but the cost is a bit prohibitive, you would need several bottles. I've tried the new formula Kleer with almost disasterous, my newly purchased bottle ended in the bin.

I bought this floor wax as well, absolutely useless. First of spraying clogged up my AB almost instantly, the amount of hassles this caused. I tried to dip a canopy, again absolutely useless, it didn't dry even at all, I followed all the guides etc to no avail. It's now in to bin. I bought some Alclad 2 ALC600 Aqua Gloss, and have used it for the past fortnight without any problems, although not dipped any canopies with it as it comes in such a small bottle. I don't know wither you can spray canopies with the ALC600.
